Abstract

This study aims to identify challenges and solutions in biodiversity conservation through a qualitative literature review. With increasing threats to biodiversity due to human activities, such as habitat loss, climate change, and pollution, conservation efforts are becoming increasingly important. Through a literature analysis covering a wide range of sources, this study found that the challenges faced are complex and often interconnected. Proposed solutions include empowering local communities, using innovative technologies, and improving policies and cross-sector collaboration. This study also shows the importance of evidence-based data to inform conservation policies and practices. While much effort has been made, the challenges require a more integrated and collaborative approach. The conclusions of this study emphasize the need for continued investment in research and development to protect biodiversity and ensure its sustainability for future generations.

Abstract

This qualitative literature review explores the financial implications of using weather derivatives as a hedging tool to reduce borrowing costs for energy companies. By synthesizing existing studies, the review highlights that weather derivatives significantly lower borrowing costs, with an average reduction of 21 basis points in borrowing rates. This cost-saving effect is more pronounced for companies with higher systematic risk or less complex financial statements. The review also finds that hedging with weather derivatives enhances financial stability and reduces bankruptcy risk, leading to more favorable borrowing terms. Furthermore, the benefits extend to the public debt market, with hedging companies enjoying lower bond yield spreads. Despite making important contributions, the study acknowledges limitations, including reliance on published literature and the need for further empirical validation. Overall, the findings highlight the value of weather derivatives in financial risk management for energy companies.

Abstract

This qualitative literature review explores the impact of production flexibility on trade credit policy in the context of demand uncertainty and supplier competition. The findings show that production flexibility significantly affects the value and maturity of trade credit. Flexible firms tend to delay defaults, order larger quantities, and receive higher trade credit values. This flexibility allows firms to adjust their production capacity according to market changes, increasing their bargaining power in trade credit negotiations. In addition, production flexibility influences firms’ capital structure decisions and financial flexibility, which have a positive impact on trade credit policy. However, the proportion of trade credit to firm value is higher in less flexible firms. Although providing valuable insights, this study is limited by the existing literature and lacks empirical validation. Future research should test these findings empirically and explore industry-specific factors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of social relationships in crowdfunding, focusing on the aspects of information, trust, and project funding. In the context of crowdfunding, social relationships between fundraisers and backers play a significant role in creating an environment that supports project success. The literature review reveals that strong social networks and information transparency can increase the level of backer trust. Trust built through positive social relationships significantly contributes to funding decisions made by individuals. In addition, this study shows that the quality of social relationships can serve as a catalyst in attracting financial support, with a wider network providing access to greater resources. Thus, the results of this study emphasize the importance of fundraisers to build and maintain good social relationships as a strategy to increase the chances of success in crowdfunding. Further research is recommended to explore cultural differences and contexts that may influence the dynamics of social relationships in crowdfunding.

Abstract

This qualitative literature review explores the role of corporate governance and information asymmetry in the relationship between big bath accounting practices and audit fees. The findings suggest that firms engaging in big bath practices face higher audit fees due to increased audit risk perceived by auditors. Weak corporate governance exacerbates this effect, as auditors need to conduct more in-depth examinations to mitigate the associated risks. In addition, high information asymmetry between management and external stakeholders further increases audit risk, prompting auditors to expand their efforts. This study emphasizes the importance of strong corporate governance in reducing incentives for earnings management and enhancing financial transparency. The implications are significant for audit practice and corporate policy, highlighting the need for firms to strengthen their governance structures and for auditors to consider big bath risk in planning and conducting audits

Abstract

This literature review explores the impact of tax planning on reputational risk and managerial discipline across different stages of a firm's life cycle. The findings indicate that aggressive tax planning offers significant benefits during the introduction and growth stages by providing cash resources for investment and expansion. However, in the maturity and decline stages, such strategies can lead to reputational risks and weaken managerial discipline. The study highlights the moderating role of corporate governance structures, such as board diversity, in mitigating these negative effects by enhancing oversight and decision-making. Managers are advised to align tax planning strategies with the firm's life cycle stage to maximize benefits and minimize long-term risks. Despite offering valuable insights, this study is limited by its qualitative nature and reliance on existing literature, necessitating further empirical research.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of patent disclosure quality on sustainable innovation with a focus on the role of patent examiners. Through a qualitative literature review approach, this study analyzes previous studies that discuss the relationship between patent disclosure and sustainable innovation. The results show that high-quality patent disclosure can enhance collaboration between parties involved in the innovation process, as well as provide information needed for further technology development. The role of patent examiners is crucial in ensuring that the disclosure meets the required standards, thus supporting a more sustainable innovation process. Thus, this study underlines the importance of effective patent disclosure management and recommendations for policies that support sustainable innovation. These findings are expected to contribute to the understanding of the relationship between patent disclosure quality and sustainable innovation and encourage further research in this area

Abstract

This qualitative literature review examines the interplay between disclosure regulation, capital costs, and externalities in financial markets. It highlights how regulatory frameworks aimed at increasing transparency can significantly affect companies' capital costs and market dynamics. Through an extensive analysis of existing literature, this study reveals that while enhanced disclosure can reduce information asymmetry and lower capital costs, it can also generate negative externalities for non-regulated firms. The review compares findings from eight previous studies, illustrating the complexities of information dissemination and its repercussions on both regulated and unregulated entities. Furthermore, it underscores the importance of designing comprehensive regulatory policies that not only promote transparency but also consider the broader market implications. The findings indicate that selective disclosure regulations may inadvertently create imbalances in the market, leading to increased overall capital costs. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on financial regulation by providing insights into the effects of disclosure practices on capital costs and market efficiency

Abstract

This study aims to review the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in strategic decision evaluation, with a focus on consistency and bias in business decision making. Through a qualitative literature review approach, this study analyzes various studies that examine how AI technology, such as the GPT model, can improve decision quality by providing more objective and consistent data analysis. Although it has great potential in reducing human bias, this study also shows the risk of algorithmic and data bias that can affect decision outcomes. Therefore, the use of AI in decision making must be accompanied by strict human supervision to ensure the quality and fairness of the resulting decisions. The results of this study provide an important contribution to the understanding of the challenges and opportunities of AI in strategic decision making in the business world.

Abstract

This study examines the challenges in implementing contract theory, particularly related to corporate performance pay as a solution to promotion risk in a competitive environment. Performance-based pay serves to increase employee motivation and reduce uncertainty in promotion, but has the potential to create unhealthy competition and reduce teamwork. This study suggests that a balanced incentive contract design, which combines financial and non-financial rewards, can optimize individual performance without sacrificing team harmony. Although performance-based pay can provide short-term benefits, it is important for companies to consider its long-term impact on employee satisfaction and collaboration within the organization. This study provides theoretical and practical insights for companies in designing fair and effective promotion systems
