Focus and Scope Focus EDUCHILD Journal of Early Childhood Education is a scientific journal dedicated to disseminating the results of research and conceptual studies in the field of Early Childhood Islamic Education. Publications in the EDUCHILD Journal of Early Childhood Education include original research and conceptual studies on Islamic religious education and related issues that have not been previously published elsewhere. The aim of this journal is to provide a platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners to publish original research articles as well as review articles. Scope This journal emphasizes theoretical and practical studies on contemporary issues. Abstract

The propaganda for the acceleration of Calistung has become a hot issue in the community, one of which is for parents in Watampone, South Sulawesi. The pros and cons illustrate that parents have different principles for their child's Calistung abilities. The practice of accelerating Calistung is carried out, with the hope that children have mature readiness before entering elementary school, without considering the stage of development and growth. This research method uses exploratory descriptive. The purpose of this study is to dig deeper into the views of parents in Watampone, South Sulawesi regarding the practice of Calistung given to early childhood. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and observations to 30 parents with children aged 3-6 years. Based on the results, the percentage shows that 63,3% of parents in Watampone agree with the practice of accelerating Calistung, with the aim of making children run smoothly in Calistung. Then only 36,7% are against the Calistung acceleration, they really consider the readiness and stage of child development. These two views differ quite a lot, many parents in Watampone agree with the practice of accelerating Calistung. A small number of parents do not agree with the Calistung acceleration, because it considers the basic concepts of early childhood development, and chooses fun learning, namely learning while playing

Abstract

This article aims to explain the concept of a Montessori learning approach in early childhood education in schools. The Montessori approach pays attention to the development of the sensitive period of the child through various things such as the nature of the child, freedom, growth and development, as well the role of the environment and off spring. For children who have to carry out the Montessori curriculum program so that there is a suitability and relationship between the behavior caused by children at school and at home. There teacher must apply the process of childrens activities in accordance with the concepts in Montessori learning such as approaches, methods, learning resources, and steps. Montessori learning so that children feel free to participate in the learning process.

Abstract

Attention to the growth and development of early childhood is fundamental and strategic in the development of human resources. Physical development of early childhood can be marked by the development of gross and refined motor. This paper discusses the implication of the traditional game “Majjeka Capeng” in developing gross motor for early childhood. “Majjeka Capeng” is a traditional game for Bugis Makassar children from South Sulawesi. Through literature review using content analysis techniques, it seems that the game can develop children’s physical skills, and can get acquainted with their environment without the help of others.

Abstract

This study discusses developing children's religious and moral values through learning centers at TK IT Asshiddiq Kabupaten Bone. The purpose of this study was to describe the development of children's religious and moral values through learning center models, knowing the center learning models and efforts to develop children's religious and moral values. To obtain data in this study, researchers used qualitative research methods, with descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the research conducted, it was concluded that learning center models were able to develop children's religious and moral values. The centers that are able to develop children's religious and moral values in TK IT Asshiddiq Kabupaten Bone Regency are preparation centers, blocks centers, roleplaying centers, natural materials centers and art centers besides the centers there are also habituation activities and methods methods to further optimize the development of children's religious and moral values.

Abstract

Gadgets are one of the media used by humans, in fact it has become a basic need with the times, especially the development of children who can have a significant impact and influence on the development of Early Childhood. The impacts and influences that arise can be either positive or negative influences on child development. Children who are used to using gadgets will have an impact on their thinking ability and creativity, can result in damage to morals and religious values, gadgets reduce children's social interaction with the surrounding environment, make children tend to be lazy to move and rarely do motor activities, gadgets can also have an impact on develop speaking skills. In addition, the use of gadgets properly and correctly by early childhood can be a medium of stimulation that is able to optimize aspects of child development. Conversely, the use of gadgets that are excessive and unsupervised will also be bad for children's development in the future.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the improvement of basic writing skill through drill method in Az-Zikra Bone. It applied Classroom Action Research (CAR) which seek to examine and analyze in depth the basic writing skill of the children through drill method by using qualitative approach. The focus of the research is improving the basic writing skill through drill method at Az-Zikra Bone Kindergarten. The research subject were 15 children of Group A and 1 teacher. The data was collected through observation and documentation, then analyzed through descriptive qualitative analysis. The research was carried out into two cycles, and each cycle was carried out through planning, implementing, observation, and reflecting techniques. The result showed that using drill method improve the basic writing skill of the children in group A at Az-zikra Bone Kindergarten with two indicators; 1) imitating making vertical, flat, slanted, curved, and circular lines; 2) Bold letters
