Abstract

This program maps road damage using GIS in Ridan Permai Village to support village infrastructure development policy making based on geospatial data. This activity is carried out as a form of community service with the aim of providing visual information and accurate and up-to-date road damage condition data. The methods used are field surveys, collecting geometric road data, and data processing using ArcGIS software. The analysis was carried out using the PCI (Pavement Condition Index) approach to classify the level of damage based on the type of pavement. The mapping results show that most of the roads in Ridan Permai Village are in poor to very poor condition, especially on the village entrance and exit routes. This information is very important for the village government in determining the priority scale of repairs, preparing budget plans, and optimizing the use of village funds. This program also encourages increased public understanding of the importance of infrastructure maintenance based on spatial data.

Abstract

This activity optimizes waste management based on TPS 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in Batu Belah Village with an educational and participatory approach to support environmentally conscious development. The program is implemented as a form of support for reducing the volume of waste disposed of at the Final Disposal Site (TPA), while increasing public awareness in sorting and managing waste from its source. The methods used include a survey of the condition of TPS 3R, socialization to the community, and technical training on waste management according to the 3R principles. The results of the activity show that waste management at TPS 3R Batu Belah Village has not previously run optimally due to limited facilities, minimal community participation, and lack of education. Through this activity, there has been an increase in community knowledge, more active participation, and improvements to the waste collection and sorting system. This program is expected to be a model for other villages in implementing integrated and sustainable community-based waste management.

Abstract

This socialization activity was carried out to increase public awareness of Kumantan Village regarding the implementation of PHBS. The activity was carried out through lectures, leaflet distribution, and demonstrations of clean living practices. The problems faced include low public understanding of the importance of maintaining personal and environmental hygiene, limited basic sanitation facilities such as healthy toilets and hand washing places, and low access to health education. The implementation method was carried out through a participatory educational approach, involving the village government, health cadres, and the local community. Activities included initial observation, direct counseling, group discussions, and hand washing practices with soap. The results of the activity showed an increase in public knowledge about PHBS, as well as the emergence of changes in behavior towards a healthier direction, such as starting to throw garbage in its place and washing hands before eating. The success of this activity was supported by the active involvement of the village government and health cadres who carried out ongoing monitoring. The obstacles faced were limited sanitation facilities and the need for further training for cadres. However, this activity showed that an approach involving local communities is effective in increasing the implementation of PHBS in rural areas.

Abstract

The damaged condition of neighborhood roads can hamper community activities and reduce the comfort and safety of road users. The neighborhood road in Hamlet II, Pulau Gadang Village, serves as an important access to the Mahligai Quran Tahfidz House and is the main route for community activities, but it is damaged and slippery, especially on downhill sections. This community service activity aims to provide technical assistance to the community in the cementing work of neighborhood roads to ensure construction quality meets standards and the road's service life is extended. The implementation method includes counseling, discussions, and direct field assistance related to concrete material mixing techniques (cement, sand, gravel, and water) in the correct ratio, spreading techniques, and post-work maintenance. The results of the activity show an increase in community understanding and skills in making quality concrete mixes, as well as a shared commitment to maintaining the roads that have been built. This program is expected to serve as an example for other villages in optimizing infrastructure development

Abstract

This community service activity aims to assess healthy homes in Batu Bersurat Village, Kampar Regency, Riau. The background to this activity is the problem of inadequate sanitation, limited access to clean water, and low public awareness of the importance of environmental health. The implementation method of the activity includes field surveys, data collection, processing of assessment results, and socialization to the community about the concept of healthy homes in accordance with the Technical Guidelines for Healthy Home Assessment from the Directorate General of Disease Control and Environmental Health, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (2007). The assessment is carried out using a score weighting system, where a house is categorized as healthy if it obtains a score of 80–100% of the total maximum score of 1280. The results of the activity indicate that some houses do not meet healthy home standards due to limited sanitation and ventilation facilities, and the continued presence of waterlogging problems. Through this program, the community gains practical knowledge about home hygiene, rainwater management through the construction of infiltration wells, and the implementation of clean and healthy living behaviors. This activity is expected to improve the quality of environmental health, reduce the risk of disease, and become a model for implementing healthy home assessments in other areas.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains one of the major health issues in Cilacap Regency. Preventive efforts can be initiated early through educational approaches combined with creativity and innovation. This community service program was carried out at SMP Negeri 5 Cilacap by empowering students through the Youth Scientific Research (KIR) group. The aim was to improve students’ understanding of TB prevention while fostering their creativity in producing health-based scientific works. The activities included: (1) presentations on TB, innovation, and the importance of creative products for health; (2) counseling on affordable functional food based on soybeans delivered by an immunology lecturer; (3) education on TB prevention, transmission, and stigma reduction provided by a community nursing lecturer; and (4) training on developing scientific works and innovative products, such as tempe-based biscuits as a high-protein source. Pretest results showed that only 30% of students understood the material, while 70% did not. After the program, understanding significantly increased to 85% of students, with only 15% remaining less informed. These findings indicate that creativity- and innovation-based education is effective in enhancing students’ knowledge of TB prevention.
