Abstract

Evaluation is a crucial aspect of education as it serves to measure the extent to which learning objectives are achieved. However, many educators still lack a comprehensive understanding of educational evaluation, which results in less optimal implementation. This study aims to examine educational evaluation from the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy, particularly in assessing students’ abilities as well as recognizing the broader role of evaluation in social life. The research employed a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach, analyzing relevant literature such as books, articles, and scientific works. The findings indicate that educational evaluation encompasses several key aspects, including the interrelationship between measurement, assessment, and evaluation; the objectives and principles of educational evaluation; and various types of evaluation, such as formative, summative, placement, and diagnostic. From a philosophical standpoint ontology, epistemology, and axiology educational evaluation not only functions to measure learning outcomes but also serves as a means to improve processes, enhance quality, and reinforce the values of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Morning Talk activities on the expressive language skills of 4–5-year-old children at RA Al Ikhlash Cidolog. The study was driven by children’s difficulties in expressing ideas, feelings, and daily experiences. A quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental One Group Pretest–Posttest design was used, involving 11 participants. Expressive language was assessed using a 1–4 rubric (1 = Not Yet Developed, 2 = Beginning to Develop, 3 = Developing as Expected, 4 = Very Well Developed). Data were analyzed descriptively and with a paired sample t-test. Pretest results showed 63.7% of children were in the Not Yet Developed and Beginning to Develop categories, indicating low expressive ability. After the intervention, posttest scores improved significantly: 54.5% of children reached the Developing as Expected level and 36.4% the Very Well Developed level. The mean score rose from 2.18 to 3.27 (p = 0.000 < 0.05). These findings confirm that Morning Talk effectively enriches vocabulary, supports sentence construction, and builds confidence in verbal communication. Consistent with Vygotsky’s theory, the study highlights social interaction as crucial in language development and suggests Morning Talk as a simple and effective strategy in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of human resource management (HRM) in improving the quality and skills of educators in educational institutions, especially at the Al-Fattah Community Learning Center (PKBM) Manonjaya, Tasikmalaya Regency. The research approach used is qualitative with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the head of PKBM, tutors, and education personnel, direct observation of the learning process and HR management, and supporting documentation. The results showed that HR management practices that include strategic planning, competency-based recruitment, continuous training, and structured performance evaluation have a positive impact on improving educators' competence. Effective implementation of HRM is able to create educators and education personnel who are more adaptive, professional and responsive to educational challenges in the digital era. This study concludes that comprehensive and integrated HR management is a key factor in improving the quality of non-formal education institutions.

Abstract

This study describes the deep learning framework as a transformative approach to education aimed at achieving quality, inclusive, and equitable learning for all students. Using literature review with a theoretical synthesis approach, it examines and integrates relevant theories, including a 2025 academic paper on deep learning published by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. The approach emphasizes not only conceptual understanding but also the development of lifelong learner dispositions through mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning. It integrates cognitive, emotional, sensory, and physical dimensions to encourage students to understand, apply, and reflect on knowledge. The framework comprises graduate profile dimensions, learning principles, defined learning experiences, and an instructional framework that specifies teaching strategies and support structures. Student-centered by design, this approach is bottom-up rather than top-down, and contextual rather than merely textual. Deep learning requires systemic change through optimizing educator competencies, leveraging digital technology, fostering inclusive learning environment, and strengthening learning partnerships. As such, it serves as a strategic pathway for creating an education system that is equitable, high quality, and relevant to contemporary needs.

Abstract

This study aims to improve early childhood numeracy skills in recognizing number symbols 1-5 using smart board media. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) carried out in two cycles. The subjects of the study were children aged 4-5 years at PAUD Kober Assulha, totaling 14 children. Data were collected through observation and numeracy ability tests. The results of the study showed that the smart board was effective in enhancing children's understanding of number symbols 1-5. Children who reached the "Developing as Expected" (DAE) category were 7%, "Developing Very Well" (DVW) reached 2%, "Starting to Develop" (SD) was 24%, and "Not Yet Developing" was 67%. These results confirm that the smart board can facilitate effective numeracy learning. Continuous evaluation and intervention are necessary to maintain and enhance the learning outcomes that have been achieved. Research results indicate that the use of smart board media is significantly expected to improve children's ability to recognize number symbols 1-5. This improvement is evident from the class average scores and the active participation of children in learning activities.

Abstract

Habituating healthy and nutritious eating patterns from an early age plays a strategic role in shaping cognitive development, particularly children's learning concentration. This study aims to analyze the effect of healthy eating habits on the learning concentration of early childhood at SPS TAAM Al Jamal, Bungursari, Kota Tasikmalaya. The approach used is descriptive quantitative with a correlational design, involving 40 children aged 4–6 years from groups A and B, as well as 6 accompanying teachers. Data were obtained through two main instruments, namely a healthy and nutritious eating habits questionnaire filled out by teachers and parents, and an observation rubric of children's learning concentration during learning activities. The results showed an average healthy eating habits score of 3.13 on a scale of 1–4 with a predominantly high category (69%), indicating that most children already have good and regular eating habits. Correlation analysis using the Pearson Product Moment test yielded an r value of 0.68 (p < 0.01), indicating a positive and significant relationship between healthy eating patterns and children's learning concentration levels. Children who maintain regular eating habits demonstrate longer attention spans, perseverance in tasks, and positive responses to teacher instructions. These results affirm that nutrition education programs based on healthy eating habits in early childhood education settings should be systematically integrated into learning activities, with active collaboration between teachers, parents, and educational institutions to enhance learning readiness and human resource quality from an early age.

Abstract

Motor physical development is one of the fundamental aspects of early childhood growth. During the golden period, proper stimulation of this ability will have a significant impact on a child's motor skills in the future. One form of stimulation that can be provided is through traditional games. This article uses a literature study and observation method regarding the implementation of the “Chicken and Fox” game in children aged 5-6 years. Data were collected through observation of children's activities while playing, then analyzed based on gross motor development indicators. The analysis results indicate that this game can stimulate speed, strength, agility, coordination, and body balance. For example, running exercises the leg muscles, while the role of the 'Mother Hen' in protecting her chicks requires agility and coordination. Thus, the game 'Chicken and Fox' is an enjoyable as well as educational alternative to optimize the motor development of young children, and it aligns with local culture, enriching the stimulatory experiences for child development.
