Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find the perception of TBI students using Google Form in the English test. The design of the research was a survey. In this research, the writer conducted a descriptive survey. The sample in this study was 32 students. The data collection techniques used tests; questionnaires and documentation. According to the poll results, 23.5% of the majority of students said that using Google Forms helped them learn to read and made the process easier. Regarding the use of Google Forms, 11.25% of students are neutral, 15.5% of students disagree, 8.25% of students definitely disagree, and 42% of students strongly agree. These findings reveal many drawbacks to using Google Forms as well as the perception of students that using them positively improves learning despite the possibility of cheating.

Abstract

This study dealt with the effect of using example non example method toward students’ writing ability in narrative text at the tenth grade students of SMA N 3 Mandau. The purpose of this study was to determine the significant effect of using example non example method students writing ability in narrative text. The researcher use quasi- experimental research design with quantitative approach. The population of the research was the students at the tenth grade students of SMA N 3 Mandau which has 429 students consists of twelve classes. Two classes, X1 and X5, with a combined student body of 72, were used as samples by the researcher. One class served as an experimental class that received treatment, while the other class served as a control class that did not receive treatment. The students were selected by using cluster random sampling. One method of gathering data was by using a written exam. The independent sample t-test from SPSS 22 shows that there was a significant difference in the writing skills of the students in the post-test experiment class compared to the post-test control class, it showed that sig. (2-tailed) was smaller than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). t mean there was significant difference on studnets’ writing ability between experiment class by using Example non Example Method and control class without using Example non Example Method.

Abstract

This research discussed the effect of using YouTube application to improve students' speaking ability at the tenth grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Hubbulwathan Duri. The approach used quantitative approach and the research design used pre-experimental. The population of this research was at the tenth grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Hubbulwathan Duri one class that consisted of 34 students. This research used total sampling consisted of one class with a sample of 34 students. The technique of data collecting used pre-test and post-test. The mean of pre-test is 58.12 and the mean of post-test is 71.71. Based on the output of pair 1, the Sig value is obtained. (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using YouTube application to improve students’ speaking ability at the tenth grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Hubbulwathan Duri.

Abstract

This study was carried out find out the effect of using roundtable technique toward students' ability in writing hortatory exposition text at the eleven grade students of SMAN 9 Mandau. Quantitative descriptive method was used to describe the data, with a quasi-experimental research design. The population of the study was all 296 students in grade XI consisting of 9 classes. Due to the large population, the researcher took a sample of 58 students. In this study, the average pre-test score of the experimental class was 64.72 and the control class was 59.52. While the average post-test score of the experimental class was 77.69 and the control class was 69.10. Based on the probability scores gathered from SPSS 22, it was shown that the sig. (2-tailed) value for Pair 1 was 0.000 < 0.05. This indicated that there were significant differences in the average students’ ability in writing between the pre-test and post-test. This meant that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It could be concluded that there was an effect of by using the Roundtable Technique on students’ ability in writing at the eleventh grade students of SMAN 9 Mandau.

Abstract

This study was carried out find out The Effect Of Using Running Text Media Toward Student’s Reading Comprehension at The Eleventh Grade Students of SMAN 5 Mandau.”. The descriptive quantitative was applied to describe data, with a quasi-experimental research design. The study population was all 164 students in grade XI consisting of 5 classes. Due to the large population, the researcher  took a sample of 64 students using cluster random sampling technique. In this study, the average pre-test score for the experimental class was 51.25 and the control class was 50.62. Meanwhile, the average post-test score of the experimental class was 74.69 and the control class was 63.75. Based on the probability scores gathered from SPSS 22, it was shown that the sig. (2-tailed) value for Pair 1 was 0.000 < 0.05. This indicated that there were significant differences in the average students’ reading comprehension between the pre-test and post-test. This meant that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out students' perception of reading difficulties at SMK Perbankan Yaris Duri. This study investigated the eleventh grade students' perceptions of reading difficulties at SMK Perbankan Yaris, aimed to identify key challenges, and explored their underlying causes. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 12 students and analyzing using descriptive statistics. The findings this study revealed that students faced several challenges in reading English texts, particularly in understanding long sentences, recalling information, and maintaining concentration. Students struggled with recalling information they had just read, particularly when dealing with lengthy or information-dense passages. Some students reported that they became confused or discouraged when encountering difficult words or unfamiliar topics, leading them to abandon reading tasks or skim without understanding. These findings suggest that enhancing students’ concentration skills, through strategies such as guided reading and chunking information, could improve their reading performance.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the writing ability of tenth grade students at Al-Muhsinin Boarding School in composing descriptive texts. The research used a quantitative approach and using research design was descriptive. Collecting data through writing test. The finding showed that most students demonstrate a moderate level of writing proficiency, with strengths in vocabulary usage and sentence structure. However, common difficulties are found in the areas of grammar accuracy, organization of ideas, and use of cohesive devices. The result of the test of student’s writing ability in descriptive text 11 students got good category. The study concluded that while students have a basic understanding of descriptive writing, more focused instructional strategies are needed to enhance their writing quality.

Abstract

Writing activities are not only a way to record ideas, but also function as a medium for developing critical, systematic, and creative thinking skills. Using thinking skills (critical, systematic, creative) by using image media to develop thinking skills presented by visual stimuli. This study aimed to analyze students’ writing ability in procedure text by using media at  seventh grade students of MTs Miftahul Huda Tasik Serai. This research used quantitative approach which using descriptive research design. To compile the procedure text in order and logically, students must first understand the stage by stage to be done, and the media images greatly help students’ understanding in compiling the text procedure. The collecting data by using writing test to write procedure text. The total sample was 18 respondents, excellent category was 5.56%, very good category was 27.78% , 50% was good category, and fair category was 16.67 %. It showed that the students have understood the basics of writing procedure text, such as structure and sequence of steps. However, there are still 16.67% of students who have not shown adequate writing skills. This research showed the students’ writing ability is at a good level. However, future instructional emphasis should be directed at improving writing coherence for the majority group and providing intensive writing for those falling below the passing threshold.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the role of guidance and counseling (GC) services in improving students’ discipline at MTs Miftahul Huda. Student discipline was a vital aspect that supports the success of the educational process. However, undisciplined behaviors such as being late to school, not completing assignments, and other rule violations are still common. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that guidance and counseling services play a significant role in fostering and directing students to understand the importance of discipline through informational services, individual counseling, and group guidance. Furthermore, collaboration between school counselors, homeroom teachers, and parents also supports the success of this program. In conclusion, guidance and counseling (GC) services made a positive contribution to improving student discipline at MTs Miftahul Huda.
