Abstract

This article explores the integration of epigenetics and Christian restoration theology as a new framework for understanding trauma and human restoration holistically. Epigenetics demonstrates that life experiences, particularly trauma, can influence gene expression without altering DNA structure and may even be transmitted across generations. Meanwhile, Christian restoration theology emphasizes the grace of God as a power that restores humanity completely in spiritual, psychological, relational, and embodied dimensions. This study employs a qualitative library research approach by examining recent scientific and theological literature relevant to trauma, epigenetic change, restoration, and Christian understandings of grace. The findings reveal that trauma leaves measurable biological imprints within the body, yet epigenetic changes remain reversible through healthy relationships, therapeutic interventions, and spiritual practices. These results indicate that human restoration should not be viewed only as an inward spiritual experience, but also as a holistic process involving psychological healing and biological renewal. Therefore, grace can be understood as a transformative power that works comprehensively within the spiritual, psychological, and biological dimensions of human existence, opening possibilities for intergenerational healing and renewed life for contemporary theological reflection.

Abstract

This study examines the application of the professional code of ethics for Christian Religious Education (CRE) teachers in building student integrity in secondary schools during the digital era. The primary issues discussed include the extent to which the code of ethics is implemented, its impact on students’ moral-spiritual standards, and the challenges of aligning professional ethics with a ministry calling. Using a library research approach, this study analyzes biblical texts, ethics textbooks, and scientific journals published within the last ten years. The findings indicate that the professionalism of CRE teachers must be grounded in Kingdom of God values by integrating pedagogical competence with theological calling through In-Persona Christi theory and the concept of vocatio. Authentic teacher exemplarity is identified as the most effective instrument for adolescent character formation amid the post-truth era, where digital information often blurs moral judgment. This study recommends a kenosis pedagogy approach, requiring educators to be authentically present, humble, and free from intellectual arrogance in order to achieve meaningful transformation of student character, integrity, and moral-spiritual maturity within contemporary Christian educational practice and school life contexts.

Abstract

The wave of digitalization triggers a severe morality crisis among the younger generation through constant exposure to negative content, cyberbullying, and global communication ethics degradation. This descriptive qualitative study aims to analyze the specific internalization of Christian values at GPIB Harapan Kasih Congregation Bekasi to shield youth morality amidst ongoing technological disruption. Employing intensive in-depth interviews and participatory observations, data were analyzed interactively through systemic reduction, structured display, and final verification. The results indicate that the digital morality crisis explicitly manifests as pornography normalization, virtual toxicity, and the severe erosion of academic honesty. In response, pastoral strategies utilizing highly contextualized digital ethics sermons and youth cell groups prove thoroughly effective. The deep internalization of self-control and integrity successfully stimulates a holistic self-censorship mechanism across the youth's cognitive, affective, and behavioral domains. This study concludes that consistent accountability-based mentorship effectively transforms Christian youth from passive digital victims into active agents of change within global cyberspace.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the intensity of glossolalia practice and cognitive functioning among theological college students through a qualitative-exploratory approach. Glossolalia, commonly practiced within charismatic Christian traditions, has generally been examined from theological and phenomenological perspectives, whereas its relationship with cognitive aspects remains relatively underexplored. This study employed in-depth interviews and participant observation involving theological college students who actively engage in glossolalia as part of their regular spiritual practice. The findings indicate that a higher intensity of glossolalia practice is associated with increased self-awareness, improved emotional regulation, and heightened internal focus. These experiences indirectly contribute to several cognitive functions, particularly attention, reflective awareness, and metacognitive reflection. The study also shows that students perceive glossolalia not only as a spiritual expression but also as a practice that supports inner concentration and personal reflection. These findings contribute to interdisciplinary discourse between practical theology and cognitive science by offering insights into how spiritual practices may relate to cognitive processes. Furthermore, this study provides a conceptual foundation for further empirical research using broader samples and measurable cognitive indicators in future investigations.
