Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between Christian Family Discipleship and Ethics of Holy Living toward achieving Christian Household Harmony. The Christian family is understood as a covenant institution whose primary purpose is sanctification and discipleship. Harmony within the household is viewed not merely as the absence of conflict, but as genuine peace (shalom) founded upon biblical principles. The methodology utilized in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature review, assuming that data is derived from surveys/literature studies involving Christian families. The independent variables tested are the consistency of Christian Family Discipleship practices (as the means/process) and the application of the Ethics of Holy Living (as the standard/morality), while the dependent variable is the level of Household Harmony. The research findings indicate a positive and significant relationship between Christian Family Discipleship and the Ethics of Holy Living, both simultaneously and partially, regarding Christian Household Harmony. Family Discipleship serves as a tool that actively trains and internalizes spiritual values, while the Ethics of Holy Living, especially the principles of forgiveness, Agape love, and humility, function as the normative foundation that must be lived out. It was found that the synergy between a consistent Discipleship process and the practice of Holy Ethics produces a stable and transformative harmony, supported by the unity of spiritual purpose and covenant-based conflict resolution mechanisms. This study concludes that strengthening Christian Household Harmony requires investment in Discipleship that gives rise to the Ethics of Holy Living, which should be the main focus of church ministry and parental responsibility.

Abstract

This study examines the role of social media as an arena for contemporary spiritual warfare and its impact on Christian spirituality, particularly in the context of increasing digital misinformation. Using a mixed-methods approach, this research combines quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to identify patterns of religious misinformation dissemination and its impact on doctrinal understanding, worship practices, and the faith identity of the congregation. The findings indicate that exposure to misinformation negatively affects the depth of spiritual practices, increases theological confusion, and creates "alternative authorities" promoted by digital influencers. Additionally, the lack of spiritual media literacy and the church's unpreparedness to serve in the digital space exacerbate the vulnerability of the congregation. This study concludes that the digital space has become a significant battlefield for spiritual warfare, requiring theological, pastoral responses, and enhanced integrated media literacy. Therefore, it is recommended to develop theology-based media literacy, provide training for digital leaders, and create contextual, evidence-based church content strategies to strengthen the spiritual resilience of the congregation in facing misinformation in the digital world.

Abstract

The post-truth era and the dominance of social media pose significant challenges to public theological discussion practices, making the Christian community vulnerable to the spread of misinformation. This study aims to develop and test a digital literacy model for Christian educators to optimize social media as a space for healthy and critical dialogue. Using a mixed-method sequential explanatory approach, the study shows a significant improvement in information verification capacity and algorithmic awareness after the intervention. Qualitative findings reveal a paradox between emotional engagement and critical awareness, which was successfully addressed through the internalization of Christian communication ethics. The integrated model, which combines technical skills, public theology, and ethics, proves effective in transforming educators from passive consumers to active change agents in the digital space. Thus, educators can ethically and responsibly moderate theological discourse, making a significant contribution to creating a more thoughtful and open digital space for deeper and more meaningful theological dialogue. This research has implications for the development of digital literacy curricula in Christian education and serves as an initial step toward shaping a generation of educators who are critical and intelligent in facing the digital challenges of the future.

Abstract

The growth of the digital era has a significant impact on Christian Religious Education (CRE), requiring a curriculum transformation to integrate Christian family values into academic learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with an exploratory case study design to analyze the integration of Christian family values such as love, open communication, and spiritual discipline—into the CRE curriculum. The results indicate that the integration of these values is effective in shaping students' Christlike character, encompassing cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions. Furthermore, technology-based learning becomes more meaningful when Christian family values are applied in the learning process. The study concludes that a curriculum model integrating these values can produce educators who are not only theologically competent but also Christlike in character, adaptable to digital developments, and responsive to the challenges of the times. This will strengthen the holistic faith formation in higher education, creating a generation that not only has a deep understanding of Christ's teachings but is also prepared to face the dynamics of life in the ever-evolving digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the urgency of community health services as part of the church's mission through a case study of the Health Service at Klinik Air Hidup Yayasan Mahanaim in Bekasi, West Java. The research focuses on the role of health services within the framework of the church's mission and its relevance to the health needs of the urban community. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with the clinic's management and staff, observations of health service delivery, and document reviews related to the foundation's vision, mission, and service programs. Data were analyzed descriptively-analytically with reference to the perspective of mission theology and church social services. The findings show that the health services provided by Klinik Air Hidup serve as a form of holistic church mission, which is not only focused on medical aspects but also on social and humanitarian dimensions. These services contribute to improving access to healthcare for the surrounding community and strengthening the church's presence in a contextual manner. This finding emphasizes that community health services have a strategic urgency in the implementation of the church's mission, particularly in addressing the challenges and needs of urban communities.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of virtual counseling based on digital applications in fostering Christlike character among Christian Education students and broader Christian counselees. Using a mixed - methods convergent design, quantitative data were collected from 42 active participants through Likert-scale questionnaires, complemented by qualitative interviews with selected counselors and counselees. The findings indicate a strong positive relationship between virtual counseling effectiveness and the growth of Christlike values, particularly love, humility, honesty, perseverance, and spiritual integrity. Key contributing factors include communication quality, counseling techniques, platform suitability, and counselee engagement. Despite technical and relational limitations inherent in virtual settings, digital counseling demonstrates significant potential as a pastoral and educational tool when grounded in biblical principles and relational sensitivity. This study affirms that digitally mediated counseling, when intentionally practiced, can serve as a meaningful instrument for spiritual formation in contemporary Christian education and ministry contexts, offering practical implications for counselors, educators, and faith-based institutions in integrating technology with holistic discipleship

Abstract

The Tabernacle, established by Moses at God's command in the wilderness, was His holy dwelling place, signified by the pillar of cloud and fire. As the center of worship in the Old Testament, the Tabernacle featured a divinely designed structure: the outer court with the Altar of Burnt Offering and the Laver; the Holy Place containing the Table of Showbread, the Golden Lampstand, and the Altar of Incense; and the Most Holy Place housing the Ark of the Covenant with the mercy seat. Though historically exclusive to Israel, the spiritual meaning of the Tabernacle remains relevant for believers today. In the era of grace, every believer is a priest with direct access to God through Christ. This study explores the application of the "Tabernacle Tour" as a guide for personal prayer, where each piece of furniture symbolizes a spiritual stage from confession of sin to intimate communion with God. Through biblical reflection and practical experience, the author finds that this symbolic journey helps believers experience quality time with the Lord in prayer, transforming the Tabernacle from a historical reality into a living spiritual model for faith growth and contemporary worship.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Enuma Elish as a cultural background for the creation narrative in the Book of Genesis within the context of the Ancient Near East. The research employs a library-based method with a descriptive-comparative approach and a rational, critical analysis of various scholarly perspectives on the relationship between Babylonian mythology and the biblical narrative. The findings indicate several thematic parallels between the Enuma Elish and the creation narrative in Genesis, particularly in their depictions of the primordial condition of the cosmos and the origin of the world. However, comparative analysis reveals fundamental theological differences between the two texts. The Enuma Elish portrays the creation of the world through conflicts among gods within a polytheistic belief system, whereas the Book of Genesis affirms that the world was created by the one sovereign God through His word in an orderly manner. This distinction is also evident in the understanding of humanity, which in Genesis is presented as created in the image of God (imago Dei). Therefore, the thematic similarities between the two texts are more appropriately understood as reflections of a shared cultural context in the Ancient Near East rather than as evidence of direct dependence of the Genesis narrative on Babylonian mythology.

Abstract

Abstrak. Khotbah merupakan praktik yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan liturgis gereja karena memiliki peran strategis dalam menyampaikan berita keselamatan kepada jemaat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bahwa penyampaian firman Tuhan tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai bentuk komunikasi religius, tetapi juga sebagai proses konstruksi pengetahuan yang melibatkan interaksi antara teks Alkitab, pengkhotbah sebagai penafsir, dan jemaat sebagai penerima sekaligus penafsir makna. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka (library research). Pendekatan ini dipilih karena penelitian berfokus pada analisis konseptual khotbah dalam perspektif filosofis dan epistemologis, sehingga data diperoleh melalui kajian terhadap berbagai sumber literatur yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa khotbah tidak dapat dipahami semata-mata sebagai praktik liturgis atau penyampaian pesan keagamaan. Khotbah pada dasarnya merupakan sebuah diskursus filosofis yang memuat dimensi epistemologis, di mana proses pewartaan firman Tuhan sekaligus menjadi proses pembentukan, pengolahan, dan transmisi pengetahuan iman.

Abstract

Abstrak: Perkembangan teknologi digital yang pesat telah mengubah lanskap moral generasi muda secara signifikan. Platform digital membuka peluang besar bagi pembelajaran dan komunikasi, namun sekaligus menghadirkan tantangan moral serius seperti relativisme nilai, perundungan siber, kecanduan digital, dan melemahnya spiritualitas. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran gereja dalam merespons tantangan moral generasi digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui studi pustaka dengan menelaah literatur teologis, pastoral, dan pendidikan yang relevan dengan budaya digital dan pembentukan moral Kristen. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa gereja perlu mereposisi pelayanannya dengan mengintegrasikan refleksi teologis, literasi digital, dan pendekatan pastoral yang kontekstual. Gereja dipanggil bukan hanya sebagai penjaga moral, tetapi sebagai komunitas transformatif yang membimbing generasi muda untuk hidup secara etis, bertanggung jawab, dan beriman di ruang digital. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa pelayanan gereja yang adaptif dan kontekstual merupakan kunci dalam menghadapi tantangan moral di era digital.
