Abstract

The development of digital technology, individualistic culture, and moral relativism are influencing the way young people understand freedom, rights, and social responsibility. This condition gives rise to a tendency to demand personal rights without being balanced by the awareness of carrying out moral obligations to God, others, the Church, and society. This Community Service activity aims to increase the understanding and awareness of young Catholics regarding the relationship between rights, obligations, freedoms, conscience, and responsibilities based on the teachings of the Catholic Church and the concept of actus humanus. The implementation of activities uses an educational, pastoral, participatory, and reflective approach through interactive lectures, group discussions, Scripture reflection, moral case studies, and the preparation of action plans. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test, observation sheets, case study assessments, participant reflections, and satisfaction questionnaires. The draft results show an increase in the average score from 55.5 to 84.3. Participants also showed better ability to distinguish moral rights and obligations, connect freedom with responsibility, analyze moral issues, and formulate service commitments. This activity emphasizes that actus humanus-based coaching is able to help young people understand that moral action always involves knowledge, freedom, choice, and accountability. The sustainability of activities is directed through OMK mentoring, the use of modules, periodic reflection meetings, and evaluation of pastoral involvement.

Abstract

Lenten repentance is a process of renewal of life orientation that does not stop at ascetic practice, but needs to be seen in the way Church ministers build relationships with God, others, and the ministry community. This Community Service activity aims to deepen repentance as metanoia and connect it with participatory-synodal spirituality for the priests of the Bangka-Belitung Diocese. The activity was held in Parittiga, West Bangka Regency, Bangka-Belitung Islands, on March 14, 2023 as part of the South Kevikepan Imam Meeting. The recollection session was attended by 39 participants, consisting of 27 diocesan priests, 3 religious priests, 1 deacon, and 8 brothers. The method of activities includes theological-interactive presentations, deepening the meaning of Lent, personal reflection, synodal dialogue, and afternoon worship. The results of the activities at the process level show the availability of a structured space for reflection, strengthening the understanding of communion, participation, and mission, and the affirmation of repentance as the basis for ministry renewal. This model of recollection is relevant for ongoing coaching because it combines theological foundations, pastoral experiences, community dialogue, and personal follow-up.

Abstract

The low understanding of the Church Law, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the spirituality of consecrated life can limit the ability of the people to live the faith in its entirety. This Community Service activity aims to increase the understanding of the people about the pastoral functions of the Church Law, strengthen Christian spirituality, and encourage participation in church life with an orientation to the salvation of the soul (salus animarum). The program is implemented through an educational-participatory approach that includes interactive lectures, group discussions, pastoral case studies, faith reflection, simulation, and mentoring. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test, activeness observation, reflection sheets, satisfaction questionnaires, and assessments of participants' follow-up plans. The draft results showed an increase in the average score of participants from 57.5 to 86.8 in four aspects, namely understanding of Church Law, understanding the Catechism, spirituality of consecrated life, and pastoral participation. Participants also produce faith reflections, pastoral action plans, and commitments to apply the values of the Church in family and community life. The discussion shows that the Law of the Church is easier to understand when it is placed as a pastoral instrument and linked to the concrete experience of the people. The sustainability of the program is directed through the formation of faith building groups, the use of modules, and periodic mentoring by congregational cadres and pastoral partners.

Abstract

Lent is a momentum of renewal that directs the people to change their orientation in life from self-interest to a deeper relationship with God, others, and the mission of the Church. This Community Service activity aims to strengthen the spirituality of Lent repentance based on synodal journeys for Church servants in the Diocese of Bangka-Belitung in the context of the Year of Thanksgiving of the Diocese of Pangkalpinang. The activity was held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in Parittiga, West Bangka Regency, Bangka-Belitung Islands, and was attended by 39 participants consisting of 27 diocesan priests, 3 religious priests, 1 deacon, and 8 brothers. The activity methods include theological-interactive presentations, personal reflection, synodal dialogue, deepening of ministry experiences, and worship. The validity of the implementation is verified through assignment letters, attendance lists, event minutes, and resource person certificates. The results at the process level show the availability of structured reflection space, the strengthening of the understanding of the relationship between metanoia and communion-participation-mission, and the strengthening of a more dialogical and responsible ministry orientation. This article does not use pre-test and post-test scores because the implementation document does not contain these instruments; Quantitative analysis is limited to verifiable attendance data. This model of recollection is relevant as a form of ongoing coaching because it integrates theological foundations, pastoral experiences, community dialogue, and follow-up recommendations.

Abstract

Fraternal life is a fundamental element in a religious community, but social change, individualism, the use of digital media, and reduced interpersonal communication can weaken the quality of relationships, joint prayer, solidarity, and service. This Community Service activity aims to strengthen fraternal spirituality, faith communication, reconciliation skills, and pastoral assistance in religious communities. The program uses a pastoral-participatory approach through needs identification, theological seminars, Scripture reflection, Focus Group Discussion, faith sharing, active listening exercises, conflict resolution simulations, and the preparation of community commitments. Evaluation is designed through pre-test and post-test, observation, simulation rubric, written reflection, and periodic monitoring. The results showed an increase in the average score from 53.2 to 84.8 in the aspects of fraternal spirituality, faith communication, reconciliation, solidarity, and ministry participation. Qualitative changes are seen in increased openness of participants, the ability to express opinions without blame, willingness to accept corrections, and a commitment to building a culture of dialogue. These findings show that coaching that integrates theological foundations, community experiences, communication exercises, and ongoing mentoring can strengthen communities as communio. The sustainability of the program is directed through regular reflection meetings, personal mentoring, community evaluation, and development of coaching modules.

Abstract

School pastoral is an important part of the formation of prospective priests because it brings together the learning of philosophy and theology with concrete experience accompanying students. This Community Service activity was carried out in the context of the Education and Student Orientation (ORDIK) for new students of the Faculty of Philosophy, Catholic University of Saint Thomas on August 7-11, 2023. The material "School Pastoral as Preparation for Priesthood Duties" was delivered by Dr. Laurentius Tinambunan and attended by 80 level I students who were recorded on the attendance list. The activity aims to strengthen students' understanding of school pastoral as a form of Church service, improve pedagogical and communication readiness, and foster teaching spirituality as part of priesthood duties. The approach used is educational, reflective, participatory, and contextual through scientific lectures, interactive discussions, case studies, learning communication exercises, pastoral reflection, and written evaluation. The results of the activity show the development of the school's pastoral paradigm as a work of evangelization, an increase in pedagogical insight, an increase in readiness to face the classroom, a growing awareness of the importance of dialogue and student assistance, and the formation of a commitment to carry out pastoral practices as a service. The validity of the implementation is verified through assignment letters, ORDIK schedules, attendance lists, event minutes, and resource person certificates. This article presents the results descriptively because the activity document does not contain individual pre-test and post-test scores.

Abstract

The Capuchin Franciscan religious formation is an integral and continuous process that connects the charismatic, human, spiritual, intellectual, and missionary dimensions. In the practice of coaching, these five dimensions have not always been lived in a balanced manner so that some young religious still view formation as a structural and academic stage, not as a journey of self-transformation. This Community Service activity aims to strengthen the understanding, internalization, and implementation of the five dimensions of formation for Capuchin youth in Sinaksak, Simalungun. The activity was held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Alverna Sinaksak Hall and was attended by 14 participants based on the official attendance list. The program uses a reflective, transformative, participatory, and contextual approach through interactive seminars, Focus Group Discussions, case studies, personal and communal meditations, and the preparation of action commitments. The validity of the implementation is verified through a letter of assignment, a signed attendance list, and a letter of thanks from partners. The results of the activity show the availability of structured coaching spaces, strengthening understanding of the five dimensions of formation, and commitment to integrate charisma, human maturity, spirituality, learning, and mission in community life. The sustainability of the program is directed through mentoring of formators, reflection journals, community evaluations, and commitment monitoring.

Abstract

Changes in digital culture, individualism, and reduced reflective habits are challenges to the spiritual life of prospective priests and Catholic Young People. Coaching that is only oriented towards the delivery of material is not enough to form prayer discipline, maturity of faith, and commitment to service. This Community Service activity aims to strengthen Christian spirituality through the example of Mary's faith as a person who listens to the Word, obeys God's will, is faithful in suffering, and is ready to serve. The program uses a pastoral-participatory approach through needs identification, seminars, Scripture study, interactive discussions, group sharing, joint prayer, adoration, written reflection, and the preparation of personal commitments. Evaluation is designed through pre-test and post-test, participation observation, reflection rubric, questionnaire, and post-activity monitoring. The draft results showed an increase in average scores from 53.2 to 86.0 in aspects of spiritual understanding, Mary's example of faith, prayer discipline, Scripture reflection, and commitment to service. Qualitative achievements can be seen in the increased ability of participants to relate life experiences with the Word of God, develop prayer habits, and formulate realistic acts of service. The program shows that Mary's example can be used as a framework of formation that integrates the spiritual, human, moral, and pastoral dimensions. Sustainability is directed through prayer groups, periodic mentoring, reflection journals, and active involvement in Church service.

Abstract

Limited knowledge of accounting and financial reporting remains a challenge for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in managing their businesses systematically and accountably. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and practical skills of Wisata Halal Indonesia MSME managers in recording business transactions and preparing financial statements based on accounting standards for MSMEs. The program was implemented through preliminary observation and interviews, online training, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, practical exercises, mentoring, and evaluation. The training involved ten participants consisting of administrative staff, supervisors, and the business owner. The materials covered basic accounting concepts, accounting processes, transaction recording, and practical preparation of balance sheets and income statements. Program evaluation was conducted qualitatively through participant engagement, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and financial statement preparation exercises. The results showed that participants developed a better understanding of accounting processes and gradually improved their ability to prepare business financial statements. Participants also demonstrated active involvement throughout the training and practical sessions. The program indicates that accounting training combined with practical assistance can strengthen MSME financial reporting capabilities and support more systematic, transparent, and accountable financial management. Continuous mentoring is recommended to ensure the consistent application of accounting practices in daily business activities.
