Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the effectiveness of organizational management within the Community Empowerment Institution (LPM) in managing community development programs in Rempoa Urban Village, Ciputat Timur, South Tangerang. LPM plays a strategic role in improving social and economic welfare through the planning, implementation, and monitoring of empowerment programs. However, challenges such as limited resources, weak coordination, and unsystematic program structures hinder their effectiveness. The program applied participatory methods including assessments, presentations, discussions, and mentoring involving LPM administrators and community members. Results showed improvements in LPM’s managerial capacity, program planning, stakeholder collaboration, and community engagement. In addition, the program contributed to increasing sustainability, economic independence, and professional credibility of LPM. Nevertheless, issues such as low public participation, inadequate monitoring, and the lack of consistent program documentation were identified. Strengthening internal communication, adopting bottom-up approaches, and building strategic partnerships are recommended. The program concludes that continuous support and adaptive management are essential for long-term community empowerment success.

Abstract

The high rate of sexual violence against children in Indonesia is a serious concern, especially in the context of legal protection for children in educational environments. The Student Creativity Program aims to increase students' legal awareness in preventing sexual violence through a legal education approach and mentoring at the Yarfin Integrated Islamic Special School. Activities are carried out using legal counseling methods, interactive discussions, case simulations, and basic legal consultations that are adjusted to the age and capacity of students. Educational materials focus on children's rights according to laws and regulations, including the Child Protection Law and the Criminal Code (KUHP) related to sexual violence. Evaluations are carried out through pretests and posttests to measure the increase in students' understanding of legal aspects and preventive measures. The results of the activities show a significant increase in students' legal awareness, ability to identify forms of sexual violence, and courage to report to the authorities. This program is expected to be the first step in instilling legal literacy in children from an early age as a preventive effort against sexual violence in Islamic-based school environments.

Abstract

The implementation of cultural safety and transformative leadership in pediatric nursing care is especially vital in multicultural settings. Pediatric nurses face communication and decision-making challenges influenced by the cultural values of patients' families. However, understanding and applying the principles of cultural safety and transformative leadership practices in pediatric nursing units remains limited. This community engagement program aims to enhance the capacity of pediatric nurses in applying these principles through education, training, and mentoring. The program included a preparation phase, a two-day interactive workshop, two weeks of field mentoring, and evaluation through pre- and post-tests, as well as daily reflections. A total of 20 pediatric nurses participated in the entire series of activities. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding; the average score for cultural safety increased from 62.3 to 84.1, and for transformative leadership from 58.7 to 81.5. Moreover, participants demonstrated more reflective and inclusive behavior in nursing practice and team leadership. This program proved effective in improving pediatric nurses' knowledge and skills related to cultural safety and transformative leadership. Therefore, it is recommended that the hospital continue the training regularly and expand it to other units to improve the quality of culturally sensitive nursing care

Abstract

Holistic nursing care requires nurses to possess cultural competence in order to provide effective and responsive care that respects patients' cultural values. Low cultural sensitivity in nursing practice can increase patient anxiety and decrease the quality of care. Clinical leadership from head nurses plays a vital role in fostering culturally sensitive nursing practices. This community service activity aims to enhance nurses' cultural competence and clinical leadership through an interactive workshop for head nurses and staff nurses at Nurul Hasanah Hospital, Kutacane . The workshop was conducted offline from August 18 to September 26, 2024, using participatory, case-based, and reflective learning approaches. Activities included the development of training modules, pre-tests, workshop implementation, post-tests, and post-training monitoring. Training materials covered clinical leadership concepts, cross-cultural communication, strategies to reduce patient anxiety, and the application of local cultural values in nursing care. Evaluation was conducted through knowledge tests and observation of follow-up action plan implementation. A total of 25 participants attended, with a 92% attendance rate. The evaluation showed an increase in the average score from 58.6 (pre-test) to 82.1 (post-test), and 76% of participants successfully implemented their follow-up plans, with several best practices documented. Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the financial performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Ciruas, Serang Regency, through the application of simple accounting systems. Many MSMEs still rely on manual financial records, lack basic accounting knowledge, and do not utilize available technology. These challenges hinder their ability to monitor cash flow, calculate profits, and make strategic business decisions. The program involves direct interviews, field observations, and hands-on training sessions. Participants were introduced to a simple accounting template using spreadsheet applications that can be operated via mobile devices. The results show an increased awareness and understanding of financial management among the MSME participants. Several businesses have begun to adopt digital bookkeeping methods and now recognize the importance of transparent and accurate financial reports. This initiative demonstrates that with proper guidance and practical tools, MSMEs can enhance their financial efficiency and achieve better business sustainability.

Abstract

Proper handwashing is a crucial component of clean and healthy living behavior, especially for school-age children who are highly vulnerable to various diseases due to their daily interactions in the school environment. This community service activity aimed to educate elementary school students on the importance of hand hygiene and to teach them the correct handwashing techniques using both soap and hand sanitizer. The method involved direct counseling sessions, visual aids through leaflets and posters, and interactive demonstrations. The evaluation included pre- and post-activity questionnaires and practical demonstrations. Although there was a positive change in students’ knowledge, the outcome did not fully meet the expected target. Several challenges, such as limited time, classroom distractions, and the complexity of the questionnaire for young learners, hindered optimal results. Nonetheless, the activity succeeded in raising awareness about proper hand hygiene and laid the groundwork for future improvements in health education among young students

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and awareness of menopausal health among housewives in the Green Serpong 2 residential area. The program was conducted through interactive health education, group discussions, and participatory counseling sessions. Many women experience menopause without adequate understanding of the physical and psychological changes that accompany it, which can lead to anxiety and mismanagement of symptoms. Through this activity, participants were guided to recognize the characteristics of menopause, differentiate it from pathological conditions, and adopt a healthy coping strategy. The approach emphasized emotional support, scientific understanding, and open communication within a safe and familiar community environment. The outcomes showed improved participant awareness and readiness to face the menopausal phase with confidence and positivity. This initiative highlights the effectiveness of community-based health education in addressing women's health issues and recommends further implementation of similar programs on a broader scale with support from local health institutions.
