Abstract

What is creation? Creation is all things, human beings and non human beings. What is spirituality? The Spirit is life, ruah, breath, wind. To be spiritual is to be alive, filled with ruah, breathing deeply, in touch with the wind. What, then, is creation spirituality? Creation spirituality is a way of living based on creation. In another word, we can learn a way of living by reflecting on creation itself. One of the many things we can learn from creation that makes us to be fully alive is simple living, living aerodinamically, living lightly but abundantly.

Abstract

It is a task of the Church to tell the world of God's love at whatever time. She is called to be an internally significant and externally relevant Church. How is the Catholic Church able to share a spirituality meaningful and fruitful life with today's people? In order to be able to commit that call, She has to discern the signs of times or kairos. The Catholic Church of Arcdiocese of Medan is also assigned to that task, so that she can give adequate responses to the needs of the faithful and society she faces with. The more she can truely and ecxactly response to the signs of times, the more she can help people to think and act in terms of God. The way of the Church of Arcdiocese of Medan puts them into practise, is the formulation of her vision and mission in the booklet released on March 25th, 2002.

Abstract

It is an undeniable fact that the number of young Capuchin candidates whohave not been ordained priests from 2000 to 2012 resign, at their own choice anddecision, from the Capuchin Order of Medan Province. This fact raises thequestion “Why did they withdraw from the Capuchin Order of the Province ofMedan?” To answer this question we used exploratory research and methods ofexit interview and exit questionary. It was found that there is a causalrelationship between the increasingly firm belief in the inability to live celibateand the reason for withdrawing from the Capuchin Order of the Province ofMedan. This finding is useful for finding ways that can help the CapuchinOrder of the Province of Medan be able to monitor early gifts of celibacy orfamily life in candidates, such as when candidates are still in postulancy ornovitiate.
PERANAN AGAMA DALAM PEMBANGUNAN KABUPATEN SAMOSIR Simanullang, Gonti

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Parish renewal is about renewal of the faith and life of the faithful in the parish. It implies that every single member of the parish, due to the sacrament of initiation received, is called to live out their faith. In reality, however, not every one of the faithful is concernedabout the renewal. There are Catholics who are not practicing their faith anymore, not going to church on Sundays and the days of obligation. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR),as one of the ecclesial movements recognized within the Catholic Church, seems to have got something to offer for such a renewal, that is their personal experience of being touched, renewed, and strengthened by the Holy Spirit.

Abstract

The Indonesian bishops have issued four documents in which they state their pastoral responses to the Indonesian Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR). The 1993 Various Charisms, One Spirit, addressed to all Catholics of Indonesia, gives significant attention to CCR Service Committees at various levels and briefly the term ‘baptism in the Holy Spirit’. The 1995 The Renewal of Christian Lifewas a revision of the 1983 Pastoral Guidelines,is particularly addressed to Indonesian CCR and speaks of issues among which are ‘baptism in the Holy Spirit’, praying in tongues, and Service Committees. These 1993 and 1995 documents will be reviewed since they speak, although briefly, about the issue of ‘baptism in the Holy Spirit’. This article is a critical comment on the documents and recommends their  need for revision.

Abstract

Abstract

Tolerance and the golden rule are taught by the world's religions, including the religions in Indonesia. The practice of tolerance and of the golden rule in multicultural Indonesian society is a real experience that needs to be improved. From the philosophical and theological point of view otherness must be accepted, recognized, appreciated, and enriched for the sake of a beautiful and peaceful common life in this world. In this article, the beauty of otherness is explored. The exploration tells us it is urgent to constantly promote the golden rule among adherents of different religions in Indonesia and the need for Catholics in Indonesia to be more precise in making real the adage 100% Catholic and 100% Indonesian.
