Abstract

As the 2024 Jakarta Governor Election approaches, digital footprints are increasingly significant in shaping public perception. Candidates are judged based on their vision, mission, and past digital activities, including social media statements and posts. This phenomenon can be seen from the resurfacing of old posts from two candidates, Ridwan Kamil and Pramono Anung, which contained vulgar humour and later became the subject of public debate, especially on the platform X. Many users revisited and reposted old posts from two candidates, Ridwan Kamil and Pramono Anung. Many users revisited and condemned the old posts, intensifying the discussion in the public sphere. Although the posts were not initially related to political interests, they have now become a reference for evaluating the character and integrity of candidates. Certain groups seem to be engaged in strategic framing in this context, directing greater public attention towards specific candidates even though the issue involves many parties.

Abstract

Terbitnya Peraturan Menteri Agama No 18 Tahun 2014 tentang Satuan Pendidikan Mu‘a>dalah Pada Pondok Pesantren menjadi bukti konkret rekognisi konstitusional pemerintah tersebut.

Abstract

Women's participation in legislative elections is one of the issues in Indonesia's political dynamics. Although the data shows an increase in percentage compared to the results of the previous elections, women's representation in the 2024 elections has not yet reached 30 percent. This paper shows that women's representation in parliament is still low in terms of candidates elected to the Senayan, cultural factors, religious stigma, and political structures are the main obstacles. However, affirmative action policies have succeeded in increasing the number of women in parliament. The research also reveals that Islamic family law plays an important role in shaping women's participation through aspects such as marriage, inheritance, and roles within the family. Through the integration of Islamic family law perspectives and feminist theories, this research aims to identify gaps in understanding regarding women's participation in the 2024 elections and devise holistic solutions to increase women's participation in the political process in Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper argues that the Indonesian government (President, Peoples’ Representative Council/DPR, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA), and local   government) has an important role in distributing social welfare to Muslim public (Muslim society) by stipulating official regulations, which authoritize the National Board of Zakat Managers (Badan Amil Zakat Nasional) to manage zakat in Indonesia. We call these regulations “qada’i” (ketetapan negara), while we dub the normative set of laws from the Qur’an and Hadith (utterances ascribed to the Prophet Muhammad) “diyani/obedience).
