Abstract

Innovations in Islamic banking products in Indonesia are increasingly relying on hybrid contracts, or al ‘uqud al murakkabah, as the primary instrument to meet complex contemporary financial needs. However, there is currently no systematic mapping that simultaneously analyzes the types, implementation patterns, and Sharia compliance challenges of all hybrid contract models across categories of Islamic banking products in Indonesia. This study aims to: (1) identify the dominant types of hybrid contracts used in Islamic banking product innovations in Indonesia; (2) examine their implementation patterns in Islamic banking products; and (3) analyze the resulting Sharia compliance challenges. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA protocol, this study selected 21 articles from 564 identified articles published between 2019 and 2024. The findings identified seven primary hybrid contract models dominating Islamic banking in Indonesia: Murābaḥah bil Wakālah, Ijārah Muntahiyah Bittamlīk (IMBT), Musyārakah Mutanāqişah (MMQ), Kafālah bil Ujrah, Wakālah bil Ujrah, Hawalah bil Ujrah, and the Rahn Qarḍ Ijārah combination. Products utilizing these models include property financing (KPR), gold pawnbroking, Islamic credit cards, multi-service financing, letters of credit, and Islamic demand deposits. Although hybrid contracts meet the needs of a dynamic market, several challenges persist, including the complexity of combining contracts, the potential for hidden riba conflicts, weaknesses in accounting records, and low public financial literacy. This study contributes a comprehensive and systematic mapping of hybrid contract types, implementation patterns, and legal implications across all major Islamic banking product categories in Indonesia an analysis not previously available in the existing literature. The findings may provide practical guidance for regulators and Islamic banking institutions in designing innovative financial products while maintaining Sharia compliance.

Abstract

Strategic leadership has become a critical factor in ensuring the successful implementation of business strategies in an increasingly dynamic, uncertain, and competitive environment. While many organizations are capable of formulating effective strategies, failures often occur during the implementation phase due to leadership-related challenges. This study aims to analyze the role, relevance, and impact of strategic leadership on business strategy implementation. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following PRISMA guidelines. Relevant articles published between 2023 and 2025 were collected from ScienceDirect and other reputable academic sources. A total of 100 articles were identified and screened based on predefined inclusion criteria. The selected studies were analyzed to address three research questions concerning the relevance, role, and impact of strategic leadership in strategy implementation. The findings indicate that strategic leadership remains highly relevant in the contemporary business environment, as evidenced by the increasing number of related publications. Strategic leadership contributes significantly to strategy implementation through vision development, effective communication, decision-making, adaptability, and change management. Furthermore, strategic leadership enhances organizational agility and supports successful adaptation to technological disruption, digital transformation, and environmental uncertainty. Strategic leadership has a substantial impact on organizational performance and the effectiveness of business strategy implementation. Leaders who demonstrate adaptive, innovative, and visionary capabilities are better positioned to overcome implementation challenges and achieve sustainable competitive advantage in the VUCA era. Future organizations will increasingly require strategic leaders capable of integrating internal capabilities with external environmental demands

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of government accounting system digitalization regional government financial reports in five regional governments in East Kalimantan, namely Balikpapan City, Samarinda City, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, North Penajam Paser Regency, and Berau Regency. This research addresses the inconsistency of previous findings and the limited studies that comprehensively examine the effectiveness of government accounting system digitalization on regional financial reporting quality across different local government contexts, particularly in East Kalimantan. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Secondary data were obtained from Regional Government Financial Reports (LKPD), BPK audit reports, and official regional government portals. The data were analyzed using descriptive and comparative analysis techniques. The results show that the implementation of the Regional Government Information System (SIPD) has generally been effective in improving financial management, particularly in terms of system integration, data accuracy, reporting timeliness, and transparency. The achievement of Unqualified Opinions (WTP) by all research objects indicates relatively good financial reporting quality. However, differences in human resource capacity, technological infrastructure, and system integration readiness still affect the effectiveness of digitalization across regions. The study contributes to the development of public sector accounting digitalization studies and provides practical recommendations for regional governments to improve digital infrastructure, employee competence, and system optimization to support transparent and accountable financial reporting.

Abstract

The digital economy era has transformed higher education by increasing the demand for adaptive, technology-oriented, and highly competent human resources. This transformation requires not only technological readiness but also psychological preparedness among students as a future talent pool. This study examines the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its relationship with students’ learning motivation from a Human Resource Management (HRM) perspective in the digital economy era. The study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, synthesizing findings from seven relevant scholarly articles published between 2025 and 2026. The reviewed literature consistently indicates that the combined influence of AI utilization and learning motivation is positively associated with improvements in students’ academic performance. Several studies highlight that students who effectively utilize AI tools and demonstrate strong learning motivation tend to achieve better academic outcomes, enhanced learning efficiency, and greater readiness for future workforce demands. AI functions as an effective cognitive support tool by personalizing learning materials, enhancing learning efficiency, and fostering creativity. However, the literature also highlights the potential risk of digital dependency when AI adoption is not accompanied by intrinsic motivation to acquire knowledge. Therefore, learning motivation plays a crucial mediating role in maintaining academic integrity and promoting meaningful learning. From a human capital development perspective, higher education institutions serve as the primary source of future talent for organizations operating in the digital economy. Students who demonstrate strong learning motivation and AI proficiency are more likely to adapt quickly and perform effectively in the labor market. The findings suggest that the integration of AI technology with effective motivation management is essential for developing agile, adaptive, and competent human capital. Consequently, universities should promote responsible AI adoption while strengthening students’ intrinsic motivation to support sustainable learning outcomes, workforce readiness, and long-term organizational competitiveness in the era of digital economic transformation.

Abstract

The growing use of emojis in digital communication has transformed the way brands interact with consumers and has increased scholarly interest in emoji-based marketing. However, existing studies remain fragmented across different contexts and outcomes, and limited attention has been devoted to providing an integrated understanding of how emoji-based communication contributes to consumer engagement. Therefore, this study aims to synthesize existing knowledge on emoji-based marketing and consumer engagement through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The review followed the PRISMA 2020 framework and utilized the Scopus database to identify relevant studies published between 2022 and 2026. An initial search yielded 30 records, of which 20 articles were retained after the screening and eligibility assessment processes. The selected studies were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify major themes, research trends, and future research opportunities. The findings reveal that the dominant themes in the literature include emoji-based communication in digital marketing, consumer engagement, and consumer outcomes associated with emoji usage. Emojis have evolved from simple visual symbols into strategic communication tools that enhance emotional appeal, interaction, and message effectiveness, thereby contributing to trust, brand attitudes, purchase intentions, electronic word-of-mouth, and brand loyalty. The review also identifies several emerging topics, including AI-assisted communication, social commerce, virtual consumer interactions, and other evolving digital environments. By integrating insights from multiple theoretical perspectives, this study contributes to the consumer engagement literature by providing a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms through which emoji-based communication influences consumer engagement and relationship building. Furthermore, the review identifies theoretical, contextual, and methodological gaps that offer promising directions for future research and provides practical implications for marketers seeking to strengthen brand–consumer relationships in digital environments.
