Abstract

Waqf in Islam is a Shari'a that is highly recommended and waqf is one of the financial instruments in the Islamic treasury apart from zakat, infaq and alms. Waqf and zakat also have different characters, but both are Islamic financial instruments. Zakat is consumptive in nature where it is distributed to consumption items so that its benefits are not sustainable, while waqf from the start is required to be productive and sustainable, that is, it survives if its assets and the results of its management are distributed in the form of assets and benefits so that the waqf can survive and continue to provide continuous benefits. This research aims to analyze the application of cash waqf in improving access and quality of Al-Qur'an education. This research was conducted at the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an Ibnu Jauzi Dramaga Islamic Boarding School in Bogor with 42 respondents. The research method used was a quantitative approach. Quantitative analysis is used with simple linear regression with data collection techniques through distributing questionnaires, observation and documentation. The results of the research show that the management of cash waqf in this Islamic boarding school has had a positive impact on increasing access and quality of Al- Qur'an education. The results of this research also show that cash waqf has a strong positive correlation or relationship with increasing access and quality of Al-Qur'an education.

Abstract

In the current digital era, banking is experiencing a major transformation by using digital technology to improve efficiency and banking services. Bank digitalization includes various innovations such as mobile banking, internet banking, and the use of AI technology in providing customer service. Apart from that, service quality and product quality are also important factors that influence customer satisfaction. This research aims to analyze the influence of bank digitalization, service quality and product quality on customer satisfaction at Bank Syariah Indonesia in Bogor Regency. The method used is a quantitative method with a survey approach. Data was collected through a questionnaire with a sample of 97 respondents using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression to test the influence of the independent variables, namely bank digitalization, service quality and product quality on the dependent variable, namely customer satisfaction. The research results show that bank digitalization has a positive and significant influence on customer satisfaction. Likewise, service quality and product quality have also been proven to have a positive and significant influence on customer satisfaction, which indicates that banks need to continue to innovate in increasing the digitalization of banking, as well as providing good service and providing quality products so as to increase customer satisfaction. Simultaneously, the three independent variables have a positive and significant influence on customer satisfaction. Another finding in this research is that customer satisfaction is influenced by 91.6% by the variables of bank digitalization, service quality and product quality.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the level of efficiency of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) as a merged bank. The data used comes from secondary data from BSI's financial reports for the 2022-2023 period. Data was analyzed using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method from an asset approach, which is input-oriented. The data analyzed consists of three input variables (Labor Costs, Promotion Costs, and Other Costs), and three output variables (Profit Sharing Financing, Rental Financing, and Securities Owned). The processed data shows that BSI's efficiency level is relatively high with an average efficiency value of 0,78 on a maximum scale of 1. However, this value is still categorized as inefficient.  Structurally, two input variables were found that played a role in this inefficiency, namely Labor Costs and Other Costs, each of which was detected in the second to fourth quarters of 2022. Based on the DEA results, improvements in the level of efficiency, according to the projected values, can be given treatment by decreasing Labor Costs and Other Costs

Abstract

The Muslim population has now increased to 24.7 percent of the total global population, and this number is predicted to continue to grow to 30 percent in 2050. The increase in the number of Muslims is in line with growth in consumption and production in the world halal market. Some non-Muslim countries have started to have their projections for the halal industry. What is interesting in the haalal industry in the form of halal food and drinks is that efforts are being made to obtain halal certificates to market their products. Each country has its policy regarding halal certification; this creates challenges for the halal industry, which requires that every product, when sold, comply with Islamic law's provisions. In this article, SWOT Analysis will be the theoretical framework for analyzing qualitative data from interviews, observations, or case studies. These data help evaluate internal (strengths and weaknesses) and external (opportunities and threats) factors that influence MSME (Micro Smile Medium Entrepreneur) exports of halal products in South Sulawesi Province. The finding of this research is there is potential for significant growth in the export of halal products for MSMEs in South Sulawesi. Still, several obstacles are faced, including limited access to global markets, lack of information and knowledge about export requirements, and limited resources and production capabilities. Strategies to increase exports of halal products for MSMEs in South Sulawesi Province, namely improving product quality, obtaining internationally recognized halal certification, improving marketing and promotions, developing business partnerships, and utilizing digital technology.

Abstract

The increasing demand for sustainable and socially responsible financial instruments has led to the development of innovative solutions that combine social and green finance. This paper explores the integration of Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS) with cutting-edge digital technologies to enhance its potential as a transformative instrument in Islamic finance. CWLS combines Islamic principles of waqf (endowment) and sukuk (bonds) to mobilize resources for socially beneficial projects while addressing environmental sustainability. This study emphasizes how the digitalization of CWLS—through technologies like blockchain, fintech, and data analytics—can enhance transparency, streamline operations, and expand its reach globally. The study employs a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis using VOS viewer to map and analyze existing research trends, knowledge clusters, and emerging themes related to CWLS. The findings highlight the potential of CWLS as a sustainable financial instrument that aligns with the principles of distributive justice while addressing global environmental challenges. Bibliometric analysis reveals significant research gaps and key contributors in this domain, providing a foundation for future studies. The findings highlight the growing potential of CWLS to drive socio-economic inclusion and environmental stewardship, demonstrating its relevance in the evolving landscape of sustainable finance.  Recommendations are provided for waqf managers to adopt digital tools for improving fund management, for waqif to understand the dual benefits of their contributions, and for policymakers to create regulatory frameworks that support the scaling of CWLS projects. These insights are critical for stakeholders seeking to harness CWLS as a vehicle for sustainable finance

Abstract

Research on risk management in Islamic microfinance remains relatively underdeveloped despite the sector’s growing strategic importance in supporting financial inclusion, poverty alleviation, and Shariah-compliant economic empowerment. This study employs a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to map the intellectual structure, thematic evolution, and global collaboration patterns of research on risk management within Islamic microfinance from 2000 to 2025. Using Scopus-indexed data and Biblioshiny, the analysis examines publication trends, co-citation networks, keyword co-occurrence, thematic mapping, and country collaborations. The findings indicate that the literature is still in an early conceptual phase, dominated by foundational discussions on Islamic finance stability rather than specific risk-related issues at the micro level. Co-citation networks reveal reliance on classic works, while thematic maps show an absence of well-developed motor themes on risk management. Collaboration patterns are concentrated in a few countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom, with limited contributions from regions traditionally central to Islamic finance. These results highlight a significant research gap between the increasing complexity of risks faced by Islamic microfinance institutions—such as credit risk, operational risk, and Shariah compliance risk—and the limited academic attention devoted to developing robust, context-specific risk management frameworks. This study provides critical insights that can guide future research agendas, especially on digital risk mitigation, Shariah governance frameworks, comparative risk modeling, and the integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. The findings contribute to strengthening the epistemic foundation of Islamic microfinance and supporting its long-term sustainability in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.

Abstract

Sharia cooperatives in educational institutions represent an important instrument for strengthening economic empowerment, financial literacy, and Islamic ethical values among students. This study aims to analyze the strategic implementation of a sharia cooperative at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Bengkalis by examining managerial preparation, institutional governance, sharia compliance, and operational practices. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research collected data through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the implementation strategy includes establishing a strong institutional structure, applying sharia-based contracts such as murabahah and mudharabah, enhancing financial literacy programs, and developing member-oriented services. However, challenges remain, including limited human resource competence, low understanding of sharia contracts, and the absence of structured sharia supervision. The study recommends strengthening governance, integrating sharia cooperative education into the school curriculum, expanding digital service innovations, and involving a Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS). The results contribute to the literature on Islamic microfinance within educational settings and offer practical guidance for strengthening school-based sharia cooperatives.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and develop an effective halal literacy strategy for MSMEs in Indonesia, with a focus on increasing the adoption of Islamic financial products. This study also evaluates the success of various implemented halal literacy education and training programs, including their compliance with Islamic legal regulations and national Sharia governance. The research methodology employed a qualitative approach, collecting data through observations and interviews with various MSMEs in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara. Data analysis was conducted using a SWOT approach. The research findings indicate that a comprehensive halal literacy strategy should include the provision of easy-to-understand educational materials, ongoing training, and awareness-raising through mass media campaigns, supported by strengthening MSMEs' understanding of Islamic legal obligations, halal certification requirements, and Islamic financial regulations. The results of this study emphasize the importance of an integrated approach to improving MSMEs' understanding of Islamic financial products, their legal basis, and the benefits they offer. With increased halal literacy, including Islamic legal literacy, MSMEs can utilize Islamic financial products to support sustainable business growth in accordance with Islamic principles and applicable Islamic financial laws. This study also provides practical recommendations for policymakers, financial institutions, and MSME support organizations to facilitate increased halal literacy, strengthen legal awareness, and expand MSME access to Islamic financial products in Indonesia.
