Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan eksistensi tokoh wanita dalam novel-novel Kuntowijoyo. Sumber data penelitian adalah empat buah novel karya Kuntowijoyo, yaitu: (1) Khotbah di Atas Bukit, (2) Pasar, (3) Mantra Penjinak Ular, dan (4) Wasripin dan Satinah. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik studi dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model analisis interaktif, sehingga pengumpulan dan analisis data dikerjakan secara simultan. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. Pertama, tokoh wanita tidak sekadar sebagai pelengkap dari dominasi tokoh laki-laki, tetapi dihadirkan secara utuh melalui peran individu, keluarga, dan sosialnya. Kedua, tokoh wanita hadir dengan kemandirian, dapat bersikap dan menentukan pilihan sendiri, dan berada sejajar dengan laki-laki. Ketiga, salah satu cara penggambaran kemandirian yakni dengan melekatkan pekerjaan pada diri tokoh wanita yang memungkinkan menghidupi diri sendiri. Kata Kunci: tokoh wanita, kemandirian, dan dominasi laki-laki THE FEMALE FIGURES’ AUTONOMY IN KUNTOWIJOYO’S NOVELS Abstract This research aims at describing the existence of female figures in Kuntowijoyo’s novels. The research data resources are four novels of Kuntowijoyo; (1) Khotbah di Atas Bukit, (2) Pasar, (3) Mantra Penjinak Ular, dan (4) Wasripin dan Satinah. The data were collected using the documentation technique. The interactive data analysis model was used so that data collection and analysis were con- ducted simultaneously. The research findings are as follows. First, the female figures are not merely complementary to the domination of the male counterparts, but they are present holistically through their individual, familial, and social roles. Second, the female figures are present with autonomy, ability to act and make self-decision, and are at the same level as men. Third, one of the ways of depicting autonomy is through attaching the job on the female figures which enable them to support themselves. Keywords: female figures, autonomy, and male domination

Abstract

Abstrak: Istilah pendidikan karakter dipopulerkan di Amerika. Di Inggris, pendidikan karakter dikenal dengan pendidikan nilai dan di Indonesia dikenal dengan pendidikan budi pekerti. Budi pekerti adalah segala pola pikir yang dipekertikan (dilaksanakan) dalam bentuk sikap dan perilaku, atau cipta, rasa, karsa (dan karya) dengan dilandasi ajaran moral yang baik (luhur) sehingga karakter disebut juga budi pekerti luhur. Guru adalah aktor sekaligus garda terdepan yang secara langsung berhadapan dengan pembelajar untuk menyemaikan, membudayakan, dan membiasakan karakter sehingga terintenalisasi dalam diri pembelajar dan dipraktikkan dalam kehidupan nyata sehari-hari dan akhirnya menjadi watak atau kepribadian luhur pembelajar. Berdasarkan pengalaman penulis untuk membelajarkan karakter, guru perlu didukung oleh pemilihan materi, metode, dan media secara tepat. Dukungan ini merupakan persyaratan minimal yang dapat dilakukan oleh semua guru. Kata Kunci: pembelajaran karakter, budi pekerti luhur, pembudayaan, pembiasaan ENJOYABLE CHARACTER TEACHING AND LEARNING (A Reflection on Experience) Abstract: The term of character education has been popularized in the USA. In the UK character education is called value education, and in Indonesia it is known as character education. Character means all frames of thought which are put into practice (implemented) in the form of attitudes and behaviors, or thoughts, feelings, and works, based on high moral teaching so that it is also called noble character. A teacher is an actor who is, simultaneously, a frontliner who directly confront learners to propagate, cultivate, and habituate the character so that it is internalized within the learners and practised in real every day life, and ultimately becomes the characteristics or the noble characterof the learners. Based on the writers’ experience, in the character teaching and learning a teacher must be supported with an appropriate selection of materials, method, and media. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menemukan model pendidikan nilai humanis-religius berbasis kultur madrasah. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Proses analisis data dengan menerapkan metode Miles and Huberman, sedangkan tahapan analisisnya dengan model Spradley, dan dalam analisis data ini, juga dilengkapi dengan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dikemukakan sebagai berikut. Pengembangan model pendidikan nilai humanis-religius dapat ditemukan dengan mengikuti langkah-langkah antara lain: (1) memotret kultur madrasah, yang meliputi aspek artifak dan aktivitas kultur; (2) penentuan visi, misi madrasah, dan standar, serta program dalam bidang artifak; dan (3) implementasi pendidikan nilai humanisreligius ini dirancang dan dilaksanakan melalui saluran kultur madrasah. Kata Kunci: model pendidikan nilai humanis-religius, kultur madrasah DEVELOPING A MODEL OF HUMANISTIC RELIGIOUS VALUE EDUCATION BASED ON ISLAMIC SCHOOL CULTURE Abstract: This study aims to find a model of humanistic-religious value education based on the Islamic school culture. The method employed was the research and development using the qualitative approach. The process of the data analysis applied the method by Miles and Huberman, while the analysis steps employed the model by Spradley; the data analysis was also supplemented by the descriptive statistical analysis. The findings of the study are as follows. The development of a model of humanistic-religious value education was made through the steps of: (1) describing the Islamic school culture, including the material culture and behavioral culture; (2) setting the Islamic school’s vision, mission; and (3) designing and implementing the humanistic-religious value education through the Islamic school culture channel. Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian lanjutan ini adalah mengembangkan pembelajaran Penjasorkes berbasis karakter yang berpeluang membelajarkan siswa pada nilai-nilai afektif. Untuk mencapai target, penelitian dirancang melalui penelitian pengembangan dengan lima tahapan, yaitu analisis produk, mengembangkan produk awal, validasi ahli, uji coba skala kecil, revisi produk, dan uji coba skala besar. Subjek penelitian adalah ahli pendidikan karakter dan pendidikan jasmani sekolah dasar. Uji coba skala kecil dilakukan di tiga sekolah dasar dengan 60 orang subjek, sedang uji coba skala besar dilakukan di enam sekolah dasar dengan 120 orang subjek. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar pengamatan atau lembar evaluasi produk yang disusun sendiri. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian berupa modul yang dikembangkan dalam dua macam bentuk. Respon siswa setelah menggunakan produk modul pembelajaran penjasorkes berbasis karakter menunjukkan bahwa setelah menggunakan modul pembelajaran penjasorkes berbasis karakter di atas, sebagian besar siswa dapat menggunakan modul pembelajaran ini. Kata Kunci: pendidikan jasmani, olahraga, karakter, nilai-nilai afektif, sekolah dasar CHARACTER-BASED PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHING AND LEARNING TO PROMOTE AFFECTIVE VALUES AT THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Abstract: This research aims at developing character-based physical education teaching and learning module to provide the students with an opportunity to learn affective values. To achieve the target, this research and development study was organized in five stages: conducting product analysis, designing the the initial product, expert validation, small scale try-out, product revision, and large scale try-out. The learning modul was validated by the experts on charracter education and physical education teaching and learning in elementary school. The research subjects were Grade V elementary school students. The small scale try-out was done to 60 students in three elementary schools, while the large scale was conducted in six elementary schools involving 120 students. The research instrument was self-prepared observation sheet or the product evaluation sheet. The data were analyzed using a descriptive statistic analysis. The research product consisted of teaching and learning module developed in two forms. The students’ responses after using the module shows that most of them were able to use the character-based physical education teaching and learning module developed. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan prestasi belajar, kualitas proses pembelajaran dan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penerapan strategi Team-Based Learning. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia Bilingual FMIPA UM yang menempuh matakuliah Kimia Dasar I pada Tahun Akademik 2012/2013. Penelitian tindakan kelas dengan tiga siklus ini meliputi langkah-langkah perencanaan, implementasi tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Instrumen penelitian adalah tes prestasi belajar, catatan lapangan, pedoman observasi dan angket. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah mengikuti perkuliahan: (1) prestasi belajar mahasiswa meningkat dan hampir 100% mahasiswa mencapai skor 70; (2) kualitas proses pembelajaran meningkat, semakin banyak kelompok dapat menyelesaikan tugas tepat waktu, interaksi antar mahasiswa dan kemampuan dalam presentasi berbahasa Inggris meningkat; (3) mahasiswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap pembelajaran. Kata Kunci : team-based learning, prestasi belajar, proses belajar, persepsi, kimia dasar INPROVEMENT ON THE CHEMISTRY ACHIEVEMENT AND THE LEARNING PROCESS OF UNIVERSITY BILINGUAL STUDENTS THROUGH TEAM-BASED LEARNING STRATEGY Abstract: This classroom action research aims to describe students’ achievement, the quality of the learning process and students' perception on the implementation of the Team-Based Learning strategy. The subjects were bilingual students of the Chemistry Education Program of FMIPA UM who took a course of Basic Chemistry I in the academic year of 2012/2013. The three-cycle action research included the steps of planning, implementation of action, observation, and reflection. The research instruments were an achievement test, field notes, observation sheets and questionnaires. The data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results show that after the students attended the instruction: (1) their achievement increased and nearly 100% of the students achieved a score of 70; (2) the quality of the learning process improved, more and more groups could accomplish the assignments on time, the interaction among students and the ability to present in English also improved; (3) students had positive perception towards the strategy. Abstract

Abstrak: Era globalisasi membawa dampak, baik dampak positif maupun negatif dalam kehidupansemua orang termasuk dalam keluarga. Keluarga memunyai peranan yang besar dalam membentukkarakter anak karena waktu yang dimiliki anak semua bersama keluarga. Namun demikian, pemerintah perlu memasukkan pendidikan karakter dalam kurikulum, baik secara implisit, maupuneksplisit. Oleh karena itu, Kurikulum 2013 kembali dirancang berbasis kompetensi dan karakter.Walaupun peranan keluarga sangat besar, sekolah dalam hal ini guru, harus juga lebih berperandalam memberikan pendidikan karakter kepada peserta didik dalam berbagai kompetensi yangdibelajarkan agar tujuan pendidikan nasional dapat dicapai secara maksimal. Hal ini termaktupdalam kurikulum 2013 yang memungkinkan para guru menilai hasil belajar peserta didik sehingga peserta didik dapat mempersiapkan dirinya melalui penguasaan terhadap sejumlah kompetensi dankarakter tertentu. The family has a great role in shaping the children’s character as theyspend most of their time with the family. However, the government needs to include character education in the curriculum, both implicitly or explicitly. Therefore, the 2013 Curriculum was redesignedbased on competence and character. Despite the great role of the family, the school, as represented bythe teachers, must have a greater role in providing character education for the students in variouscompetencies in order that the national education goals can be achieved maximally. It is stated in the2013 Curriculum that teachers can assess the learning results so that the students can prepare themselves through the mastery of a number of compencies and certain character traits. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan pendidikan karakter untuk mendorong siswa sekolah dasar menjadi generasi bermoral, bertanggung jawab, dan mampu menunjukkan identitas mereka sebagai manusia berbudaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa Sekolah Dasar di desa selter Kuwang, Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kualitas pembelajaran para siswa meningkat, seperti yang terlihat dari rasa tanggung jawab dan kerja sama antarsiswa. Siswa menjadi lebih percaya diri dan lebih perhatian terhadap lingkungan hidup. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mereka melakukan kerja sama yang baik dalam kelompok. Selain itu, anak-anak menjadi lebih baik dalam melakukan tugas yang diberikan kepadanya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tanggung jawab dari anak-anak untuk tugas yang diberikan dapat dilakukan dengan baik. (2) Model pembelajaran yang diterapkan efektif dalam kerja kelompok yang terlihat pada antusiasme dan aktivitas siswa selama pelaksanaan kegiatan. Kata KUNCI: pengembangan karakter, kemandirian, ketaqwaan, tanggung jawab, kerja sama THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHARACTER OF PIETY, INDEPENDENCE, AND COOPERATION OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS Abtract: This study aims to develop character education as an effort to foster elementary school students to become a moral and responsible generation and be able to show their identity as men of culture. This research is an action research study. The subjects were the elementary school students in the shelter village of Kuwang, Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The results show that (1) the quality of the students’ learning improved, as seen from the good sense of responsibility and cooperation among those attending some of the activities carried out in conjunction with the research. The students became more confident and cared more about their environments. This shows that they developed good cooperation within the group. Besides, the students demonstrated a better performance on the tasks assigned to them. This suggests that the students’ responsibility for the task given to them also improved. (2) the teaching and learning model applied was very effective in developing group work as could be seen from the the students' enthusiasm and participation during the implementation of activities. Abstract

Abstrak: Indonesia sangat kaya dengan budaya. Salah satu budaya Indonesia adalah cenderung patnernalistik. Yunior menghormati senior atau orang yang dituakan. Pemimpin sebagai senior disegani bawahan. Pemimpin menjadi teladan bagi bawahan karena itu ia harus mampu memberi keteladanan untuk dicontoh bawahannya. Kepemimpinan yang berkarakter memiliki empat sifat utama: memiliki sifat jujur, memandang jauh ke depan, membei inspirasi, dan cakap. Kombinasi keempat sifat tersebut membentuk kredibitas. Pemimpin yang kredibel dapat dipercaya. Esensi kepemimpinan adalah kepercayaan. Cara melakukan kepemimpinan berkarakter adalah dengan melakukan keteladanan secara nyata kepada bawahan sehingga mereka terpengaruh untuk melakukannya. Setelah bawahan melakukannya berarti kepemimpinan berkarakter berfungsi sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter bagi bawahannya. Kata Kunci: kepemimpinan berkarakter, keteladanan pemimpin, kredibilitas, pendidikan karakter LEADERSHIP WITH CHARACTER AS A MODEL FOR CHARACTER EDUCATION Abstract: Indonesia is rich with culture. One of the Indonesia cultures is a paternalistic tendency. The young respect the old or those considered seniors. Leaders as seniors are respected by the subordinates. Leaders are examples for the subordinates; therefore, they must be able to become models for their subordinates. Leadership with character has four main traits: honest, futuristic, inspirational, and capable. The combination of these four traits build the credibility. A credible leader can be trusted. The essence of leadership is trust. Implementing the leadership with character is by providing real examples for the subordinates so that they are inspired to model the given examples. When the subordinates have modeled their leader, the leadership with character has functioned as a means of character education for the subordinates. Abstract

Abstrak: Nabi merupakan manusia berkarakter unggul dan ideal secara fisik dan psikis yang mampu menjalin komunikasi efektif dengan Tuhan dan malaikat serta menjadi rujukan setiap umat manusia dengan dasar pegangan kitab suci yang diturunkan kepadanya. Dengan potensinya, nabi mampu menyampaikan risalah yang visioner untuk membangun umat agar mereka semakin sejahtera secara utuh. Dengan empat sifat utama yang dimilikinya, yakni shiddiq, amanah, tabligh, dan fathanah, nabi menjadi figur yang selalu berpedoman pada nurani dan kebenaran, menjaga profesionalisme dan komitmen, mengusai keterampilan berkomunikasi, sekaligus mampu menyelesaikan masalah. Inilah nilai-nilai profetik yang diharapkan menjiwai pendidikan karakter yang ingin dibangun. Pendidikan profetik secara operasional akan menginternal dalam unsur-unsur pendidikan seperti tujuan, peserta didik, pendidik, kurikulum, media, dan evaluasi yang kesemuanya memuat sendi-sendi utama keprofetikan. Pendidikan karakter dalam perspektif profetik ini sebagai tawaran baru yang patut dipertimbangkan. Kata Kunci: pendidikan karakter, perspektif profetik, visioner CHARACTER EDUCATION IN A PROPHETIC PERSPECTIVE Abstract: The prophet is a human of noble character and ideal physically and psychologicall, who has the capability to communicate effectively with God and the angels and becomes the reference for man based on the holy book revealed to him. With his potentials, the prophet is capable of passing the vissionary teachings to build the community so that the members can be more holistically prosperous. With his four main characters, i.e., truthful, trustworthy, informative, and intelligent, the prophet becomes the figure who always follows the guidance of conscience and truth, maintains professionalism and commitment, masters the communication skills, and is simultaneously capable of solving problems. These are the prophetic values which are expected to inspire the character education developed. Prophetic education will operationally be internalized in the education elements such as goals, learners,educators, curriculum, media,, and evaluation, all of which contain the main prophetic aspects. Abstrak: Tulisan ini hendak melihat pendidikan budi pekerti untuk membentuk karakter siswa di sekolah masih dalam persimpangan jalan. Pengembangan karakter siswa diperlukan untuk membentuk mata pelajaran budi pekerti. Pendidikan yang selama ini dialami siswa di sekolah masih bersifat kognitif.. Padahal, untuk dapat mewujudkan hasil didikan yang maksimal, siswa haruslah memiliki pengetahuan secara intelektual dan pendidikan budi pekerti untuk membangun karakter bangsa. Penerapan pendidikan budi pekerti di sekolah menjadi amat penting untuk membangun karakter bangsa. Namun, permasalahannya pendidikan budi pekerti di Indonesia baru menyentuh pada tahap pengenalan dan pemahaman nilai-nilainya. Selain itu, berbagai peristiwa seperti korupsi, budaya kurang santun, tawuran dan kekerasan, konflik horizontal di masyarakat adalah suatu kenyataan yang harus disikapi agar sekolah-sekolah di Indonesia menerapkan pendidikan budi pekerti untuk membentuk karakter siswa. The development of the students’ character is needed in moral education. The school education the students have experienced so far is still cognitive in nature. In order to achieve a maximum result of education, the students should have intellectual knowledge and moral education to build the nation’s character. The implementation of moral education at school becomes very important to build the nation’s character. However, the problem is that the moral education in Indonesia has only touched the introduction and the comprehension of its values.
