Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menganalisa penalaran matematis calon guru matematika laki-laki maupun perempuan dengan gaya belajar auditori dan penalaran matematis calon guru matematika laki-laki maupun perempuan dengan gaya belajar kinestetik dalam menyelesaikan soal geometri analitika. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan studi kasus.  Studi kasus ini mempelajari secara intensif seorang individu atau kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis subjek laki-laki lebih baik daripada subjek perempuan, karena subjek calon guru matematika laki-laki dengan gaya belajar auditori dan kinestetik hampir memenuhi semua indikator penalaran matematis. hanya pada indikator menyelidiki dugaan matematika, masih ada jawaban yang belum benar karena kurang teliti dari hasil analisa subjek calon guru matematika laki-laki dengan gaya belajar auditori, sedangkan pada subjek calon guru matematika laki-laki dengan gaya belajar kinestetik pada indikator menyelidiki dugaan matematika masih ada langkah yang salah dalam penghitungan, walaupun sebenarnya subjek mampu memberikan penjelasan langkah-langkah penyelesaian dengan konsep-konsep yang ada. Subjek calon guru matematika perempuan dengan gaya belajar auditori maupun kinestetik belum mampu memenuhi semua indikator penalaran matematis.

Abstract

The way of thinking logically and reasoning in number theory courses can be seen by the number of proofs of the properties of numbers in some basic set of numbers. This qualitative research aims to analyze student creativity in solving proving questions directly. The research involved 37 third semester students taking lectures on number theory. The technique in this research is to provide a test of proving questions then ask students with their own desires to do in front of the class, analyze the result of students work and interview students about their work. Data analysis was performed by analyzing the creativity of the evidence carried out by students fulfilling which aspects of the aspects of creative thinking behavior and indicators of creative thinking abilities based on Mahmudi. As many as four students have beeb able to use different evidentiary techniques. The four students are creative with very low, low, medium, high creativity ability levels based on fulfillent of indicators of creative thiking abilities based Mahmudi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' cognitive styles and spatial abilities in problem solving on geometry so that educators can determine the appropriate learning methods, models and instruments for their students. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data were collected from 25 students of class X MIPA 2 SMA Pangudi Luhur Yogyakarta through observation of the learning process, analysis of student test results in terms of imagination, conceptualization and problem solving and interviews to find out more about the stages of problem solving. From the research conducted, it was found that less than 50% of students were able to meet 3 indicators of good spatial ability so that assistance was needed in (1) turning the problem into a 2-dimensional image, (2) determining the concept used based on the information on the problem presented, (3) determine the solving strategy of the concepts used to solve the problem. For cognitive style, students of class X MIPA 2 tend to have a reflective and Field Dependent cognitive style where out of 25 students, 16 people have a reflective cognitive style, that is, students think a lot before working on the questions even though there are still some who have not found the right solution because of inaccuracy and lack of time management . In addition, it is also known that there is a relationship between spatial abilities, cognitive styles and problem solving abilities, where students with reflective cognitive styles tend to have good spatial abilities in problem solving abilities

Abstract

Mathematical literacy and ethnomatematics are two main ideas to determine the role of mathematics in everyday life. Mathematical literacy is an idea that focuses on mathematical and social requirements that can reflect a person's competence in mathematics, while ethno-mathematics emphasizes the competence of people developed in different cultural groups in everyday life. This research focuses on the Jonegoroan batik culture (batik typical of Bojonegoro Regency) because no previous researchers have studied it, especially about ethno-mathematics and mathematical literacy. The purpose of this study was to describe the ethnomatematic form of Jonegoroan batik in terms of mathematical literacy aspects, namely aspects of the content, context, and mathematical processes. This type of research is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection was carried out by means of participant observation and interviews. The instruments used were observation sheets, interview guidelines, and research note sheets. The data analysis technique used triangulation. The results of this study indicate that based on ethnomatematic studies on Jonegoroan batik, several mathematical concepts can be found, namely the concept of geometric transformation, two-dimentional figure, and graphs of trigonometric functions. Based on these studies, the activities carried out by Jonegoroan batik craftsmen fulfill the aspects of mathematical literacy. Thus, Jonegoroan batik can be used as a medium for learning mathematics.

Abstract

Banyak siswa tidak menyukai matematika dan menganggapnya tidak relevan dengan kebutuhan mereka (Grootenboer and Marshman 2016). Siswa takut, cemas, bahkan benci pelajaran matematika sehingga tidak senang mengikuti pelajaran matematika. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, sehingga pembelajaran matematika harus direncanakan secara matang dengan metode yang bervariasi sehingga siswa merasa nyaman mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran sebagaimana pendapat (Stoll 1999) bahwa strategi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan cenderung menentukan sejauh mana siswa memahami materi yang disajikan kepada mereka. Penelitian ini adalah classroom action research untuk mengetahui apakah dengan penerapan pembelajaran pemberian tugas terstruktur disertai umpan balik dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X TJK.I SMK Handayani Makassar sebnayk 36 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dua siklus. Pengumpulan data dengan tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi, dan angket respons siswa yang kemudian dianalisis dengan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan skor rata-rata hasil belajar siklus I sebesar 61,11 dengan standar deviasi 14.88 meningkat pada siklus II dengan rata-rata sebesar 70,83 dan standar deviasi 12,73. Hal ini menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal sebanyak 9,72% sehingga dengan diterapkannya pembelajaran dengan pemberian tugas terstruktur disertai umpan balik pada siswa, maka hasil belajar matematika dan keaktifan siswa dapat meningkat.

Abstract

The purpose of this literature studies is to gain knowledge in designing straight line equation material in middle school oriented to higher order thinking skills. The theory used in this study is constructivism in mathematics learning and the concept of higher order thinking skills. The presentation design of straight line equation material is designed through a presentation in the form of four problem situations are gradient, straight line equations, characteristics of straight line equations and applications of straight line equations. The four problem situations, based on theoretical studies, can be said to have fulfilled the three basic principles in constructing mathematical knowledge and three aspects of higher order thinking skills. The three basic principles in constructing mathematical knowledge are active student construction of mathematical knowledge, students construct new mathematical knowledge from the results of a physical and mental reflection and mathematical knowledge is formed by students through discussion and dialogue in their social learning environment. The three aspects of higher order thinking skills are deep understanding, reasoning and problem solving. The results of this literature studies can be concluded that the presentation design of straight line equations material in middle school in this study can be said to be oriented to higher order thinking skills. This is because theoretically able to generate activities that are oriented towards higher-order thinking skills, so that there is a great opportunity to equip students with the thoughts needed to form quality human resources in the 21st century.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik melalui pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik pada materi pola bilangan. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini dilaksanakan secara kolaboratif antara Seorang Dosen Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika dan guru mata pelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 8 kali pertemuan (4 minggu) termasuk quis dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik  kelas 8A SMPN 17 Mataram yang terdiri dari 10 peserta didik  laki-laki dan 22 peserta didik  perempuan. Pemilihan subjek ini dilakukan oleh guru mata pelajaran matematika berdasarkan prestasi belajar peserta didik  ketika di kelas 7 yang dikelompokkan dalam 4 kelas 8. Kelas 8A merupakan kelas yang memiliki nilai matematika lebih tinggi dibandingkan 3 kelas lainnya. Analisis data hasil belajar peserta didik dilakukan secara deskriftif berdasarkan nilai LKPD, quis, dan evaluasi serta hasil refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik ini selain mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep juga mampu meningkatkan aktivitas belajar peserta didik. Tentunya harus di dukung oleh pemahaman guru dalam merancang aktivitas untuk setiap materi matematika yang disajikan dalam RPP dan terimplementasi dalam aktivitas di LKPD. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi rekomendari bagi para guru untuk menyusun RPP menggunakan pendekatan saintifik dengan lebih memfokuskan aktivitas peserta didik pada bagian aktivitas pengamatan dan mengumpulkan informasi.

Abstract

INOVASI merupakan lembaga kemitraan Indonesia - Australia yang fokus pada literasi dan numerasi. Salah satu program intervensi yang dijalankan di Kabupaten Sumbawa adalah implementasi pendekatan PDIA di SDN 2 Pungkit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana proses penerapan pendekatan Problem Driven Iterative Adaptation (PDIA) di kelas 1 SDN 2 Pungkit dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar matematika siswa. PDIA merupakan sebuah pendekatan yang digunakan oleh INOVASI dalam mencari tahu bagaimana meningkatkan kualitas proses dan hasil pembelajaran dalam numerasi dengan menggunakan pendekatan yang dirancang untuk mencari solusi lokal dalam mengatasi masalah-masalah lokal dan khusus dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus tentang bagaimana penerapan PDIA dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar siswa. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari satu orang guru kelas 1 SDN 2 Pungkit. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi dan kajian literatur. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dalam empat tahapan yaitu, koleksi data, reduksi data, menyajikan data dan verifikasi atau kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pendekatan PDIA dilaksanakan dalam lima tahapan yaitu, 1) eksplorasi, 2) sintesis, 3) perancangan, 4) coba gagasan, 5) kaji ulang. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan PDIA mampu membuat siswa lebih aktif melalui pemanfaatan media konkrit dan metode diskusi. Hasil lainnya juga menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar semua siswa tuntas terhadap KKM.

Abstract

The purpose of this research were to describe: 1) the effect of fully online learning to the mathematical reasoning abilities of students; 2) the response of the students to the application of fully online learning. The research was a mixed-method using quantitative and qualitative methods with one group pretest-posttest design. There were 32 students of class XI MIA MA NW Wanasaba, Wanasaba Sub-District, East Lombok Regency as the sample. Instrument of this research was the mathematical reasoning abilities essay test consists of 10 questions on learning materials of limit function, observation and interviews. The quantitative data analysis using descriptive statistics with paired sampel t-test. The results of this research showed that: 1) according to the results of data analysis, it was discovered the value of Sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.05, it means that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, this indicated that there was a difference between the pretest and posttest average. Based on the descriptive statistics, the average of pretest score was 71.03 higher than the posttest score was 59.97. It can be concluded that the fully online learning was no more effective to the mathematical reasoning abilities of students. 2) there were 16% of the students gave a positive response to the application of fully online learning, 84% of the others prefer the blended learning and students gave a less positive response to the application of fully online learning and it was considered less helpful in practicing the mathematical reasoning abilities of students.

Abstract

This research was conducted because the students' self-efficacy in mathematics was still low. The Brain Based Learning approach is expected in solving this problem. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the increasing in self-efficacy of students who received the Brain Based Learning (BBL) approach in mathematics. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study were all students of grade VII at a junior high school in Padang City. The sample was determined by purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument in this study was a non-test (questionnaire). Questionnaires are used to measure students' mathematical self-efficacy. The questionnaire is based on indicators of self-efficacy. The self-efficacy questionnaire consists of 28 questionnaire items. The questionnaire was given before being given treatment and after being given treatment. The treatment given was in the form of mathematics learning based on the BBL approach. The result of this study is that the increase in self-efficacy of students who get the BBL approach learning is significantly better than learning with the conventional approach as a whole.
