Abstract

This study aims to find out the praxis of project-based learning at PIKA Vocational Secondary School Semarang and to identify the advantages and disadvantages. The design of this research is a qualitative case study. The data collection techniques were in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The informants of this study were: principal, vice-principal, teachers, employees, and students. This study shows that: (1) there are two patterns of project-based learning at PIKA VSS Semarang. The first pattern is an internal internship program, and the second is learning a productive practice program. (2) The advantages of project-based learning are: (a) it trains the students’ sense of entrepreneurship; (b) it develops learning motivation; (c) it gives a complete, real and contextual learning experience; and (d) it develops the students’ hard skills and soft skills. The disadvantages of project-based learning are: (a) it requires the acquisition competencies to perform project assignments; (b) it takes times; (c) it requires high operational costs; (d) it requires adequate facilities.

Abstract

IMPROVING VOCATIONAL TEACHER TECHNOLOGICAL PROFESSIONALISM THROUGH SKILLS DESIGNING AND DEVELOPING OFFLINE INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIATeaching­ learning in Vocational Schools are mostly Delivered in conventional method, rote learning, demonstration, and practicing using guide book. As indicated in teaching Teknologi Dasar teacher uses conventionsl method, although he/she still uses blackboard, trainer kits in two dimensions. Consequently, students have difficulties in coping conceptual concept that describing process and misconception is emerged. This verbalistic technology teaching will have implication on students inability to compete with other school leavers. Therefore, alternative strategy of learning need to be investigated in order to prepare students to work in work place through multimedia teaching. Innovative learning by using offline interactive multimedia will contribute on learning technology and it reduces misconception and verbalistic technology in school. Offline Interactive Multimedia was designed through five phases: (1) product analysis, (2) product development, (3) experts judgement and revision, (4) field validation, (5) revision and validation for wider subject and final product.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menguji keefektifan penerapan model PjBL di Program Studi PTIK STKIP PGRI Pontianak pada mata kuliah Pemrograman Visual 1 dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa. (2) menguji kemungkinan implementasi model pembelajaran PjBL di Program Studi PTIK STKIP PGRI Pontianak. Penelitian ini mengunakan jenis penelitian quasi experiment. Desain dalam penelitian ini menggunakan posttest control group design dengan kelompok non ekuivalen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester 4 dari Program Studi PTIK STKIP PGRI Pontianak. Dalam penelitian ini pengumpulan data dilakukan setelah perlakuan (posttest). Data posttest dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan Anova untuk mengetahui perbedaan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Hasil pengujian hipotesis yang menyatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara mahasiswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran PjBL dibandingkan mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional dengan metode tutorial. THE EFFECTIVENESS PROJECT-BASED LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENT'S LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT OF STKIP PGRI PONTIANAKAbstractThis research aimed at: (1) testing the effectiveness of PjBL at ICT Education Study Program in Visual Programming 1 subject to improve the student's learning achievement and, (2) testing the possibility the implementation of PjBL learning model at ICT study program of STKIP PGRI Pontianak. This research used quasi-experimental research design. The design used at this research was posttest control group design with non-equivalent group. Data collecting techniques used at this research were questionnaire, observation and project assessment. In this research, the data collecting was conducted after the treatment (posttest). The posttest data was analyzed descriptively by using Anova formula to find out the difference between the experimental groups and controlled group. The hypotheses testing result shows that there are learning achievement difference between the students who leaner by using PjBL model and the conventional one.

Abstract

Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan laboratorium virtual dalam meningkatkan keterampilan dalam praktik di lab tanpa memerlukan bantuan pendamping dan tidak terikat dengan waktu dan tempat, dan memfasilitasi pendidikan karakter bagi siswa. Virtual laboratory terdiri dari beberapa bagian yaitu: pre-test, post-tests, tugas-tugas, tutorial, simulasi, dan bahan-bahan laboratorium. Learning lab dikembangkan di dalam mata pelajaran produktif dan didukung oleh authoring tools. Virtual labs harus interaktif, dinamik, animatif, tidak membosankan dan didukung oleh keinginan pengguna untuk belajar dan memahami matapelajaran produktif. Laboratorium virtual digunakan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa sekolah kejuruan dalam arti kognitif, psikomotor, dan karakter siswa. VIRTUAL LABORATORY DEVELOPMENT FOR PRACTICUM AND FACILITATING CHARACTER EDUCATION IN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLAbstractThe purpose of this virtual laboratory is preparing students to improve skills in laboratory practice without the need for escort assistance and are not bound by time and place and facilitate the character education for the student. Virtual laboratory consists of pre-test, posttests,Assignment, tutorials, simulations and lab materials. Learning lab was developed in productive subjects are supported by the software authoring tools. Virtual labs are interactive, dynamic, and animatif, not boring and can to support the user desires to learn and understand course productive material. Virtual laboratory to improve the competence of vocational students in terms of cognitive, psychomotor, and character of the students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) mengetahui sumber dana sekolah yang selama ini diterapkan; (2) menemukan model pengembangan sumber dana alternatif sekolah, dan (3) mengujicoba keefektifan internal model pengembangan sumber dana sekolah di SMK Bidang Keahlian Teknologi dan Rekayasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode research and development. Penelitian dilakukan di SMK negeri dan swasta di kota Yogyakarta. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) sumber dana sebagian besar berasal dari pemerintah dan masyarakat; sumber dana alternatif yang selama ini digali oleh SMK berasal dari penyewaan kantin, unit produksi dan koperasi; dan peran sumber dana alternatif terhadap anggaran belanja operasional sekolah adalah ≤ 0,39%. (2) Hasil pengembangan menghasilkan grand design model pengembangan sumber dana alternatif sekolah yang terdiri dari: model pengelolaan sumber dana dan model pengembangan unit-unit usaha. (3) Hasil uji internal yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa ahli setuju: (a) komponen model telah lengkap (84,5%); (b) struktur komponen model telah jelas (86,3%) ; (c) hubungan antar komponen model telah jelas (80,4%); (d) model memiliki keterbacaan yang baik (82,2%); (e) model telah layak (88,1%); dan (f) model efektif jika diimplementasikan (93,3%). DEVELOPING THE SOURCE OF SCHOOL FUNDS IN VOCATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOLSAbstractThis research aims to: (1) reveal the source of school fund model which has been applied; (2) reveal the development model of alternative source of school fund; and (3) test the internal effectiveness of development model of source of school fund in vocational secondary schools (SMK) which run the Study Program of Technology and Engineering Expertise. This research employed the research and development method. This research was conducted at public and private vocational secondary schools in Yogyakarta. The research data were collected using in depth interview and observation. The results of this research show that: (1) the source of the schools' fund is the government and citizens; the alternative source of the schools' fund which has been cultivated by SMK mainly comes from canteen lease, production units, and cooperatives; and the contribution of the alternative source of the schools' fund to the schools' operating budget is ≤ 0.39%. (2) The result of the development showed that the grand design model of alternative source of school fund which consist of source of funds management model and development of business units model. Furthermore, the result of internal effectiveness testing which involved the experts concluded that: (a) the components of the model are sufficient (84,5%); (b) the structure of the components of the model has been understood (86.3%); (c) the relationship between the components is clear (80.4%); (d) the model has good readability (80.4%); (e) the model is acceptable (88.1%); and (f) the model is effective if it is implemented (93.3%).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh potensi kepribadian wirausaha, pengetahuan kewirausahaan, dan lingkungan keluarga terhadap minat berwirausaha. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan ex post facto. Populasi adalah siswa SMK Rumpun Pertanian di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Sampel sebanyak 113 responden ditentukan menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan instrumen angket dan tes. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensia. Penelitian menunjukkan minat berwirausaha relatif rendah (48,67%), potensi kepribadian wirausaha memberi pengaruh cukup berarti terhadap minat berwirausaha (27,3%), pengetahuan kewirausahaan berpengaruh berarti terhadap minat berwirausaha (13,7%), lingkungan keluarga memberi pengaruh yang berarti terhadap minat berwirausaha (22%). Terdapat pengaruh secara bersama-sama antara potensi kepribadian wirausaha, pengetahuan kewirausahaan, dan lingkungan keluarga sebesar 42,2 persen terhadap minat berwirausaha. THE EFFECT OF ENTREPRENEUR PERSONALITY, ENTREPRENEURSHIP KNOWLEDGE, AND ENVIRONMENT ON ENTREPRENEURIAL INTEREST OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTSAbstractThe Effect of Potential Entrepreneur Personality, Entrepreneurship Knowledge, and Environment on Entrepreneurial Interest of Vocational High School Students. The purposes of this research are to reveal the effect of potential entrepreneur personality, entrepreneurship knowledge, and environment on the entrepreneurial interest. This study uses the ex post facto approach. The population is Agriculture vocational high school students in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. A sample of 113 respondents is established using the proportional random sampling technique. The data are collected using questionnaires and a test. The data are analyzed using descriptive statistics and statistical inference. The results show that almost half (48.67) of students have a low entrepreneurial interest. The results also show that potential entrepreneur personality gives a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial interest (27.3%). Entrepreneurship knowledge has a significant positive effect on entrepreneurial interest (13.7%). Family environment has a significant positive effect on entrepreneurial interest (22%). The potential entrepreneur personality, entrepreneurship knowledge, and family environment collectively have the effect of 42.2 percent on the entrepreneurial interest.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul kewirausahaan model student company yang layak digunakan di SMK. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Modul pembelajaran kewirausahaan model student company layak digunakan. (2) Menurut siswa, modul yang dikembangkan berkualitas sangat baik, serta jika dilihat dari nilai skewnes distribusi data adalah normal. (3) Penerapan modul dalam proses pembelajaran secara umun dapat terlaksana. (4) Peningkatan pemahaman siswa dengan menggunakan modul yang dikembangkan berkategori sedang dengan rerata Uji-t sebesar 80,03 dan selisih nilai (effect size) 13,97 dengan persentase ketuntasan siswa sebesar 95%. Pembelajaran menggunakan modul juga mampu melatih kemandirian siswa dalam belajar dan mampu menumbuhkan kemampuan dalam bekerjasama. THE DEVELOPMENT OF A STUDENT COMPANY MODEL OF ENTREPRENEURIAL LEARNING MODULE AT SMK NEGERI 1 GODEANAbstractThis study aimed to develop a student company model of entrepreneurial learning module which was appropriate for SMK. This study was research and development. The results of the study were as follows. (1) The student company model of entrepreneurship learning module was appropriate for use. (2) According to the students, the developed module was excellent and the skewness of the data distribution was normal. (3) Generally, the implementation of the module in the learning process was succesful. (4) The increase of the students‟ understanding by using the developed module was in the fair category with an average t-test score of 80,3 and the difference in value (effect size) of 13,97 with students‟ mastery percentage of 95%. The learning using the module was also able to train the students' autonomy in learning and able to improve the ability to cooperate.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan standar mutu pelaksanaan e-learning sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif; (2) mengidentifikasi keefektifan perencanaan pembelajaran elearning; (3) mengidentifikasi keefektifan perancangan dan pembuatan materi pembelajaran elearning; (4) mengidentifikasi keefektifan metode penyampaian pembelajaran e-learning; (5) mengidentifikasi keefektifan pelaksanaan dan interaktivitas pembelajaran e-learning; (6) mengidentifikasi keefektifan evaluasi pelaksanaan e-learning; (7) mengetahui faktor penghambat dan pendukung pelaksanaan e-learning sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluasi dengan model evaluasi discrepancy. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket dan observasi, kemudian data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Keberhasilan program diukur dengan kriteria absolute, yakni standar pelaksanaan pembelajaran e-learning yang telah ditetapkan sebelumnya dari standar mutu penyelenggaraan e-learning yang ideal. Analisis deskripsi data mendiskripsikan dan memaknai keefektifan e-learning sebagai media pembelajaran di SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto dari tiap-tiap data ubahan dan sub ubahan, yaitu nilai rerata pada standar variabel penelitian. Masing-masing ubahan dibandingkan dengan acuan kriteria yang telah ditentukan berdasarkan rata-rata ideal dan simpangan baku ideal yang dapat dicapai oleh instrumen. Responden dari penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto yang terlibat langsung dengan pembelajaran e-learning. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran e-learning di SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto sesuai dengan standar mutu pelaksanaan e-learning pada komponen perencanaan pembelajaran cukup efektif dengan kecenderungan 77,57%; komponen perancangan dan pembuatan materi cukup efektif dengan kecenderungan 75,14%; komponen penyampaian pembelajaran e-learning cukup efektif dengan kecenderungan 75%; komponen interaksi pembelajaran cukup efektif dengan kecenderungan 66,10%; dan komponen evaluasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran e-learning cukup efektif dengan kecenderungan 69,01%. Secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran e-learning sebagai media pembelajaran di SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto cukup efektif dengan tingkat kecenderungan 77,27%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran e-learning di SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto tidak sepenuhnya efektif bagi semua guru di SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto, dikarenakan beberapa faktor dari pelaksanaannya yang belum optimal. THE EFFECTIVENESS OF E-LEARNING AS INSTRUCTIONAL MEDIA (EVALUATION STUDY OF E-LEARNING INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL INSMK TELKOM SANDHY PUTRA PURWOKERTO)AbstractThis study aims to: (1) describe the quality standard of e-learning as effective instructional media, (2) identify the effectiveness of e-learning instructional plan, (3) identify the effectiveness of designing and developing the e-learning materials, (4) identify the effectiveness of delivery method of the e-learning instructional strategy, (5) identify the effectiveness of implementation and interactivities of e-learning instructional, (6) identify the effectiveness of evaluation of the elearning process, and (7) identify the inhibiting and supporting factors in the implementation of elearning as instructional media. This study is an evaluation research using the discrepancy evaluation model. The data were collected through questionnaire and observation, and analyzed descriptively. The success of the program was measured using absolute criteria, i.e. the standard process of e-learning instruction determined by the ideal standard of the quality of e-learning process. The descriptive data analysis described and interpreted the effectiveness of e-learning as instructional media in SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto by each alteration and subalteration data, i.e the average value in the standard of the research variable. Each alteration was compared with criterion standards determined based on the ideal mean and standard deviation obtained by the instrument. The respondents were teachers and students of SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto directly involved in the e-learning instruction. The results show that the implementation of e-learning in SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto based on the quality standard of e-learning implementation on the component of instructional plan is quite effective with the tendency of 77.57%; the component of designing and developing the material is quite effective with the tendency of 75.14%; the component of delivery method of instructional strategy is quite effective with the tendency of 75%; the component of interactivities is quite effective with the tendency of 66.10%; and the component of evaluation of e-learning process is quite effective with the tendency of 69.01%. Overall it can be concluded that the implementation of e-learning as instructional media in SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto is quite effective with the tendency of 77.27%. This study indicates that the implementation of elearning instruction at SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra Purwokerto is not completely effective, because several factors of implementation are not optimal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman konsep dan pemecahan masalah pada materi KK3: (1) antara siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw II dan siswa dengan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation (GI) ketika motivasi belajar TKJ dikendalikan; dan (2) antara penggunaan tipe pembelajaran kooperatif (tipe Jigsaw II dan tipe GI) dengan tingkat motivasi belajar TKJ (tinggi dan rendah). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan nonequivalent comparison-group design menggunakan dua kelas perlakuan sebagai variabel bebas yang diberikan pembelajaran kooperatif dengan dua tipe berbeda. Satu kelas menggunakan tipe Jigsaw II, sedangkan kelas yang lainnya diberikan tipe GI. Variabel motivasi belajar TKJ dijadikan sebagai pembagi kategori kelompok siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar TKJ tinggi dan rendah serta sebagai kovarian. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis multivarian kovariat dan desain faktorial dengan progam SPSS 16. Artikel ini menunjukkan tujuan kedua, dengan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) untuk pencapaian pemahaman konsep, pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw II dan tipe GI baik diaplikasikan untuk siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar TKJ tinggi dan rendah, akan tetapi untuk siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar TKJ rendah lebih baik menggunakan tipe GI; dan (2) untuk pencapaian pemecahan masalah, pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw II dan tipe GI baik diaplikasikan untuk siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar TKJ tinggi, siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar TKJ rendah maupun siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar TKJ tinggi lebih baik menggunakan tipe GI. Kata THE DIFFERENCES OF JIGSAW II AND GI ON THE CONCEPT UNDERSTANDING AND PROBLEM SOLVING IN COMPETENCE OF DIAGNOSING PROBLEMS WHEN OPERATE PC AND PERIPHERAL IN TERMS OF LEARNING MOTIVATIONAbstractThis research aims to describe the differences of concept understanding and problem solving on the KK3 material: (1) between students taught using the cooperative learning Jigsaw Type II and GI Type when TKJ learning motivation was controlled; and (2) between the use of cooperative learning (Jigsaw Type II and Group Investigation (GI) Type) with the levels of TKJ learning motivation (high and low). This research was quasi-experimental with the nonequivalent comparison-group design using two treatment classes as independent variables which were given cooperative learning with two different types. One class used the Jigsaw Type II while the other used the GI Type. The TKJ learning motivation was used as the divider category of students who have high and low TKJ learning motivation as well as covariant. The data analysis technique in this research was the multivariat analysis of covariate and factorial design using the SPSS 16 program. This article shows the second aim, and the results shows that: (1) for concept understanding achievement, cooperative learning Jigsaw Type II and GI Type are good to be applied for students who have high and low TKJ learning motivation, but for those who have low TKJ learning motivation, GI Type is better than Jigsaw Type II; and (2) for problem solving achievement, cooperative learning Jigsaw Type II and GI Type are good to be applied to students who have high TKJ learning motivation, where for those who have high and low TKJ learning motivation GI Type is better than Jigsaw Type II.

Abstract

Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan model pembelajaran penguatan vocational life skills mahasiswa berwawasan kewirausahaan; dan (2) mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran penguatan vocational life skills mahasiswa  berwawasan kewirausahaan. (3) mengetahui efektivitas dan keunggulan model; dan (4) mengimplentasikan model. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan dengan Borg & Gall dan perencanaan strategi pembelajaran dalam pengembangan model dengan menggunakan rancangan Dick & Carey. Berdasarkan hasil dari validasi ahli pada: ahli bidang studi, ahli desain pembelajaran, ahli desain grafis semuanya menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran penguatan vocational life skill layak digunakan dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada mahasiswa jurusan teknik mesin. Juga pada uji coba perorangan, uji coba kelompok kecil dan uji coba lapangan menunjukan kelayakan model yang dikembangkan dan dalam kategori baik. Uji efektivitas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai rata-rata hasil belajar yang diajar dengan menggunakan modul vocational life skills berwawasan kewirausahaan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar yang diajar dengan menggunakan buku teks.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran penguatan vocational life skills, kewirausahaan, teknik mesin LEARNING MODEL DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS LIFE SKILLS VOCATIONAL STRENGTHENING INSIGHTFUL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERINGAbstractResearch and development is aimed at: (1) develop learning models strengthening vocational life skills, entrepreneurial-minded students; and (2) implement a reinforcement learning model vocational life skills, entrepreneurial-minded students. (3) evaluate the efficacy and advantages of the model; and (4) implementing the models. Methods of research and development with Borg & Gall and planning learning strategies in model development by using design Dick & Carey. Based on the results of the validation experts at: expert studies, expert instructional design, graphic design expert everything suggests that the reinforcement learning model vocational decent life skill used in the implementation of learning in students majoring in mechanical engineering. Also on individual testing, small group trial and field trials showed the feasibility of the model developed and in both categories. Effectiveness test, it can be concluded that the average value of learning outcomes are taught using modules vocational life skills, entrepreneurial-minded higher than the average value of learning outcomes are taught using textbooks.Keywords: reinforcement learning model vocational life skills, entrepreneurship, engineering
