Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the factors influencing motivation among English language learners (ELLs) at Tashkent State University of Law, focusing on first-year students enrolled in the "English for Lawyers" module. The research explores how teaching methodologies, curriculum relevance, and assessment practices impact student engagement and contribute to the development of language skills necessary for academic and professional success. Methods: A mixed-methods approach was adopted, involving surveys completed by 40 students and semi-structured interviews with 10 randomly selected participants. The study assesses how interactive learning environments, real-world legal applications, and alternative assessment models affect students' motivation levels. Quantitative data from surveys is complemented by qualitative insights from interviews, providing a comprehensive understanding of the factors shaping student motivation. Results: Students demonstrated higher levels of engagement and motivation when participating in interactive classroom activities, real-world legal scenarios, and project-based assessments. Traditional memorization-focused assessments were found to negatively impact motivation, while creative, problem-solving tasks enhanced students’ confidence and practical skills. Additionally, external factors such as sleep, social media use, and physical well-being played a significant role in influencing classroom performance and focus. Novelty: This study highlights the importance of contextualized and student-centered teaching approaches in boosting motivation among law students learning English. It emphasizes the value of incorporating practical, career-relevant materials and dynamic assessment models to create a more engaging and effective learning environment. The research contributes to the broader discourse on educational reform in Uzbekistan, advocating for pedagogical strategies that align with students' professional goals and foster long-term academic growth and success.

Abstract

Objective: The objective of this study is to explore aggression as a psychological defense mechanism utilized by individuals to shield themselves from external threats or internal conflicts. It aims to analyze the complexity of aggression and its dual consequences, both positive and negative. Methods: The article employs a psychological approach to understand aggression, focusing on its triggers and manifestations. It examines both external stimuli and internal psychological states, such as stress, anxiety, and fear, as potential causes of aggressive behavior. Results: The findings indicate that aggression is a multifaceted process that operates beyond immediate external triggers. Internal psychological states play a significant role in shaping aggressive responses. This highlights the importance of considering both environmental and psychological factors in understanding aggression. Novelty: The study provides a nuanced perspective by emphasizing that aggression is not solely a reaction to external stimuli but also a defense mechanism influenced by internal psychological conditions. This dual focus on external and internal triggers offers a broader understanding of the complexities of aggression.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the efficiency and feasibility of micro-hydroelectric power plants in various geographical locations. It explores the fundamental principles of hydropower generation, emphasizing the potential of micro-hydro systems to provide sustainable electricity, particularly in remote areas. The research also evaluates the impact of different construction methods and turbine types on overall energy output and efficiency. Methods: The study employs a combination of theoretical analysis and practical calculations to determine the efficiency and feasibility of micro-hydro systems. The fundamental equation for power generation (P = 9.81 * Q * H * η) is applied to different scenarios. Various micro-hydro construction methods, including diversion and simple in-stream systems, are compared. Additionally, the performance of active and reactive hydroturbines is assessed, along with power regulation techniques such as frequency and voltage adjustment mechanisms. Results: Micro-hydropower plants demonstrate high efficiency, reaching up to 75-80%, significantly outperforming thermal power plants. The power output varies based on water flow rate, pressure head, and turbine efficiency. Proper site selection, considering factors like river slope and seasonal water stability, enhances performance. A case study calculation reveals that a micro-hydropower system with a flow rate of 3 m³/s and a head of 1.5 m can generate approximately 73.7 kW, enough to power several households. However, challenges such as seasonal fluctuations, construction costs, and environmental concerns, including ecosystem disruption, must be addressed. Novelty: This study provides a comprehensive comparison of different micro-hydro construction techniques and turbine types, offering practical insights for optimizing efficiency and sustainability. It highlights the importance of selecting appropriate locations and materials to maximize energy output while minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, the research explores innovative frequency and voltage regulation methods, which are crucial for maintaining stable energy supply in micro-hydro applications.
