The sampling technique used the Slovin formula so that a sample of 42 respondents was obtained. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test with a 95% confidence level. Results: The results showed that most of the respondents had a good level of knowledge as many as 18 people (42.9%). Most mothers managed to give exclusive breastfeeding to their babies as many as 26 people (61.9%). The results of the Chi-Square test showed a p-value of 0.018 (p < 0.05). Abstract

Background: Low Birth Weight Infants (LBWI) are still one of the health problems in various countries, including Indonesia. Babies with a birth weight of less than 2500 grams have a higher risk of impaired health, growth, and development. The toddler period is an important period in children's growth and development because there is rapid development in motor, language, and social aspects. Therefore, early developmental monitoring is very necessary, especially in children with a history of BBLR. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between low birth weight inf (BBLR) and the development of toddler children (1–3 years) at Teungku Peukan Southwest Aceh Hospital in 2026. Research Design: This study uses an analytical design with a cross sectional approach. The population is all toddler children (1-3 years old) who are examined at Teungku Peukan Southwest Aceh Hospital. The sampling technique used a total sampling with a sample of 36 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test. Results: The results showed that most children had normal birth weight and age-appropriate development. Statistical tests showed a p-value of < 0.05, which means that there is a significant relationship between BBLR and the development of toddlers. Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between BBLR and toddler (1–3 years) development. Suggestion: Health workers are expected to improve monitoring of growth and development and carry out early detection in children with a history of BBLR.

Abstract

Early Breastfeeding Initiation (EBI) is an important early intervention in forming an emotional bond between mother and baby through skin-to-skin contact in the first hour of life. The implementation of EBI can increase bonding attachment which plays a role in children's emotional and psychological development. However, not all mothers carry out EBI optimally so that it can affect the quality of the mother-baby relationship. To determine the relationship between Early Breastfeeding Initiation (EBI) and bonding attachment between mother and newborn at the Bineh Krueng Health Center, Southwest Aceh Regency. This study is a quantitative research with an observational analytical design using a cross sectional approach. The population in this study is all mothers who give birth to newborns as many as 60 people. The sampling technique used the Slovin formula so that a sample of 60 respondents was obtained. Data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most of the mothers carried out EBI as many as 41 respondents (68.3%) and had good bonding attachment as many as 39 respondents (65%). The results of the Chi-Square test showed a value of p = 0.002 (p < 0.05) which means that there is a significant relationship between EBI and bonding attachment between mother and newborn. There is a significant relationship between Early Breastfeeding Initiation (EBI) and maternal and newborn attachment bonding. It is hoped that health workers can improve education and assistance to mothers and families in the implementation of EBI so that it can be carried out optimally to support the formation of emotional bonds between mothers and babies.

Abstract

The neonatal period is the most critical phase of a baby's life, so it requires optimal care. Primipara mothers often experience anxiety in caring for newborns due to a lack of knowledge and experience. This condition can affect the quality of baby care and the success of the mother's adaptation process in carrying out her new role. Therefore, interventions in the form of educational programs are needed to increase knowledge and reduce maternal anxiety. To determine the effectiveness of the newborn care education program on maternal anxiety at the Tengku Peukan Regional General Hospital, Southwest Aceh Regency. This study is a quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out from February to March 2026. The population in this study was all mothers who had 54 newborns, with a sampling technique using total sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire on the level of anxiety of primipara mothers. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that before being educated, most mothers experienced mild anxiety (53.70%) and moderate anxiety (24.07%). After being educated, there was a decrease in anxiety with the majority of respondents in the categories of not anxious (51.85%) and mild anxiety (33.33%). The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) which means there is a significant difference. Conclusion: The newborn care education program is effective in reducing the anxiety level of primitive mothers at Tengku Peukan Hospital. Suggestion: It is hoped that health workers can increase the provision of education on newborn care systematically and continuously as part of postnatal services to increase maternal readiness in caring for babies.

Abstract

Breast milk is the best source of nutrition for babies which plays an important role in growth and development. However, there are still many postpartum mothers who experience obstacles in milk production, especially in the early postpartum period. One of the non-pharmacological efforts that can be made is breast mass education which aims to stimulate the hormones prolactin and oxytocin so that it can increase breast milk production. To determine the effect of breast mass education on breast milk production in postpartum mothers in Lamamek Village, West Simeulue District, Simeulue Regency, Aceh Province. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest design approach. The population in this study is all postpartum mothers as many as 52 people with a sampling technique, namely total sampling. Data collection was carried out through observation of breast milk production before and after the intervention. Data analysis was conducted using the Paired Sample T-Test. Results: The results of the study showed an increase in breast milk production after being given breast massage education. The average value of milk production before intervention was 14.85 ml and after intervention increased to 25.90 ml. The results of the statistical test showed a p value = 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means that there is a significant influence between breast mass education on breast milk production. There is an effect of breast mass education on increasing breast milk production in postpartum mothers in Lamamek Village, West Simeulue District, Simeulue Regency. Suggestion: It is hoped that health workers can increase education about breast mass to postpartum mothers as an effort to increase optimal breast milk production.
