Abstract

This community service program aims to bolster the resilience of students at TPA At-Tauhiid, Metro Timur, through the reinforcement of body literacy and Islamic manners (adab). The initiative addresses the critical issue of children’s limited understanding of bodily boundaries and their vulnerability to potential sexual violence. Employing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program actively engages teachers, parents, and students in a collaborative learning process. The intervention methods include interactive storytelling, thematic role-playing to practice refusing strangers, and focused group discussions. Additionally, educational posters illustrating safe and unsafe touches were displayed, and a new regulation was implemented requiring students to return home immediately after sessions to ensure their safety. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in the children's awareness of maintaining awrah (modesty), their ability to distinguish between safe and unsafe touches, and their assertiveness in suspicious situations. Moreover, the program successfully heightened the awareness of parents and teachers concerning the urgency of early sexuality education within an Islamic framework. In conclusion, integrating body literacy into the TPA curriculum serves as an effective preventive strategy for child protection and self-defense education.

Abstract

Waste management at the community level remains a multidimensional challenge affecting environmental quality, public health, and socio-economic welfare. This community service program aims to implement and analyze circular economy–based waste management integrated with the values of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah at TPS Sauyunan Hegarmanah, Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, actively involving waste management officers, local residents, environmental volunteers, and community leaders throughout all stages, including problem identification, action planning, implementation, observation, and collective reflection. The results indicate that the application of waste segregation, recycling, and reuse practices effectively reduced residual waste volume, increased the economic value of waste, and enhanced community participation and behavioral change. The integration of circular economy principles with the maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah framework strengthened the dimension of public benefit (maṣlaḥah), as reflected in the protection of life (ḥifẓ al-nafs) through a cleaner and healthier environment, the protection of wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl) through improved economic value and resource efficiency, and the protection of the environment (ḥifẓ al-bī’ah) through sustainable waste management practices. This program demonstrates that a community-based approach grounded in Islamic values is effective in promoting sustainable and socially meaningful waste management.

This community service program aims to strengthen the role of batik artisans as creative economy actors in preserving Tanjung Pasir batik as a local cultural heritage. The program was conducted in Tanjung Pasir Village by involving batik artisans as the main partners, supported by community leaders, village government, and local MSME actors. The method applied was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which emphasizes active community involvement throughout all stages of the program, including condition and potential mapping, action planning, mentoring implementation, as well as evaluation and reflection. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and activity documentation. The data were analyzed qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that the PAR approach enhances awareness and participation of batik artisans in preserving local cultural values reflected in the production process and philosophical meaning of Tanjung Pasir batik. Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance mothers’ understanding of eco-theological parenting based on the Prophet’s Hadiths as an effort to create happy mothers and environmentally conscious families. The main problems addressed include mothers’ limited understanding of the connection between parental roles, the teachings of the Hadith, and their responsibility as khalifah in caring for nature; the high psychological and social burdens faced by mothers; and the lack of a mentoring model that translates local religious traditions into concrete, eco-friendly parenting practices. The program activities include eco-theological parenting training classes, the development of an eco-theological parenting for happy mothers module, community-based practices at the neighborhood level (such as waste donation, family gardens, and green-clean home initiatives), and strengthening collaborations with religious leaders to incorporate environmental Hadith themes into women’s study groups. The expected outcomes are improved knowledge and awareness among mothers regarding environmental Hadiths, the formation of parenting patterns that integrate spirituality, ecological awareness, and maternal well-being, as well as the development of a village-based eco-theological parenting model that can be replicated in other contexts.

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the limited use of digital marketing in the Keripik Singkong Barokah micro and small enterprise in Dusun Karya Harapan Mukti, Pelepat Ilir District, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province, where product promotion had mainly relied on word-of-mouth communication and WhatsApp messages, resulting in a narrow market reach. The activity aimed to improve the partner’s knowledge and skills in using digital media for product promotion while strengthening the business identity of the enterprise. The target partner was the Keripik Singkong Barokah business group, involving seven participants, including the business owner. The implementation employed the Participatory Action Research approach through stages of problem identification, observation, interviews, participatory discussion, digital marketing education, promotional design training using Canva, assistance in creating an Instagram account, and strengthening business accessibility through banner installation. The results showed an increase in the partner’s understanding of the importance of digital marketing, improved skills in designing promotional content, the availability of a business social media account, and stronger business visibility in both online and offline settings. The activity also encouraged a positive change in attitude, as the partner became more confident, more open to technology, and better prepared to manage promotion independently. Overall, this program is relevant as a practical, contextual, and sustainable model of rural business empowerment for home-based food enterprises.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) are a strategic sector in both regional and national economic development. However, UMKM actors still face challenges in marketing, especially in implementing sharia-based ethical marketing principles. This study aims to analyze the strategy of the Department of Cooperatives for UMKM Affairs of Bungo Regency in strengthening UMKM actors’ capacity through sharia-based digital marketing training. The activity involved approximately 30–40 UMKM actors registered at the UMKM Clinic of Bungo Regency as the target partners. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data obtained from in-depth interviews with the Head of the Division of Cooperatives and UMKM. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, covering a preparation stage (needs identification and material development), an implementation stage (practical digital marketing workshop integrating Islamic values), and an evaluation and monitoring stage (participant feedback and planned follow-up coaching clinic). The results show that the training enhanced UMKM actors’ understanding and ethics in digital business according to sharia principles, promoting business transformation towards sustainable Islamic economic growth.

Abstract

Community service activity was motivated by the limited number of community members who possessed adequate knowledge and skills in funeral management in Dusun Kampung Benit, Sungai Mengkuai, Bungo Regency, causing residents to depend on only a few individuals whenever a death occurred. This activity aimed to improve community understanding, practical skills, and readiness in bathing, shrouding, praying over, and burying the deceased according to Islamic guidance while preparing local cadres to sustain the practice continuously. The target partners included religious leaders, youth, women, and other community members who had been involved or had the potential to be involved in funeral services at the village level. The implementation stages consisted of needs identification, socialization, material delivery, demonstration, direct practice, mentoring, and participatory evaluation to ensure that participants understood each procedure correctly and confidently. The results showed increased knowledge and technical skills, stronger confidence to participate in funeral management, and the emergence of local cadres who could support the continuity of religious services and strengthen social solidarity within the community.
