Abstract

The community service team, comprising instructors and students from STMIK Mardira, in partnership with Universitas Kebangsaan Republik Indonesia, initiated an initiative to develop Sukajadi Village in East Sumedang. During the project, the team concentrated on resolving the challenge of biomass stoves utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) with temperature sensors capable of real-time temperature monitoring and remote temperature control. The team ensured a consistent temperature of 90°C during the steaming process to preserve the quality and sterility of East Mushroom spawn bags. The community service team implemented IoT-based biomass stoves and conducted training for the local population in Padasuka Village to optimize the use of these stoves for temperature monitoring. The community service project resulted in the deployment of IoT-enabled biomass burners for real-time temperature monitoring during the steaming of oyster mushroom bags for the inhabitants of Padasuka Village in East Sumedang. The IoT-enabled biomass burners allow the local community to monitor the temperature in real-time, as shown on the application screen, to maintain a consistent temperature of 90°C for optimal steaming processes. The collaborative community project in Sukajadi Village has substantially benefited the local community by adopting IoT-based technology for real-time temperature monitoring of biomass burners. The measures implemented are anticipated to be further improved and yield enduring advantages for the inhabitants of Sukajadi Village in East Sumedang.

Abstract

The community service team, comprising faculty and students, implemented initiatives to raise awareness about the rapid advancement of digital technology, which facilitates access to information, communication, and everyday tasks.  Nevertheless, in conjunction with these conveniences, numerous cybercrime concerns have emerged, including phishing, hacking, cyberbullying, and the theft of personal data.  The deficiency in awareness and understanding of these concerns, especially among students, underpins our community service activity.  The events consisted of interactive outreach directed at 11th-grade students in the RPL program at SMKN 1 Katapang—the employed procedures comprised pre-tests, material presentations, phishing web simulations, conversations, and post-tests.  The subjects addressed encompassed categories of cybercrime, its adverse effects, and preventive strategies employing security technology such as firewalls, two-factor authentication (2FA), and SSL.  The findings indicated significant enthusiasm among participants and an enhanced comprehension of digital hazards and the significance of personal data protection.  This effort demonstrates that early education on cybercrime is essential for cultivating a prudent and secure generation in the responsible use of digital technology.

Abstract

The community service team, comprising academics and students, conducted activities to examine the implementation of digital technology projects that offer substantial opportunities for youth to engage in online business. Many vocational high school students still lack sufficient understanding and skills in modern digital business concepts, such as E-Business, E-Commerce, CMS-based website management, and digital marketing strategies like SEO and SEM. This initiative aimed to provide education and practical training to students at SMK Marhas Margahayu, helping them understand and apply digital business principles. The strategy included interactive workshops with theoretical presentations, direct demonstrations, practical lessons on creating online stores with WordPress, and simulations of digital marketing tactics. Using a pre-test and post-test methodology, along with observations of student participation, the findings revealed significant improvements in students' understanding of digital business and increased interest in entrepreneurship. This initiative aims to promote digital entrepreneurship among vocational high school students and can be replicated in similar institutions.

Abstract

The community service team, comprising academics and students, conducted activities to investigate the execution of a digital literacy program as a means to mitigate the technological gap and counter the increasing prevalence of cybercrime among adolescents.  The community service at SMKS PGRI Selaawi Garut implemented an educational framework based on four pillars of digital literacy: digital skills, digital ethics, digital security, and digital culture.  Data reveals that 99.2% of Indonesian adolescents are online, although their comprehension of cybersecurity is inadequate.  The curriculum effectively enhanced students' understanding of cybercrime dangers and personal data protection measures through engaging presentations, live simulations, and practical applications.  The findings indicated significant enthusiasm among participants and an enhancement in their practical comprehension of safe and responsible technology utilization.  This program fosters a healthy digital culture and mitigates the risk of technological exploitation among young people.
