Abstract

This study aims to improve the beginning reading skills of first-grade students at SDN Balongsari I / 500 Surabaya through the use of picture series media in Indonesian language learning. Picture series media was chosen because it is believed to help students understand the material more concretely and engagingly, as well as encourage active participation in the learning process. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through reading skill tests, observations, and reflective discussions between teachers and researchers. The results showed a significant improvement in students' beginning reading skills. The class average score increased from 48.58 in the initial test to 63.57 in Cycle I, and then rose again to 70.00 in Cycle II. Additionally, the percentage of students achieving the learning mastery criteria (score ≥ 60) increased from 32.14% in the initial test to 78.57% in Cycle I, and finally reached 100% in Cycle II. These improvements cover cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, indicating that picture series media is effective in teaching beginning reading. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of picture series media in Indonesian language learning significantly enhances the beginning reading skills of first-grade students, creates a more active and enjoyable learning environment, and increases student participation in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Social Studies (IPS) on the topic "Understanding and Describing Types of Markets" for third-grade students at SDN Kemayoran I Surabaya by applying a cooperative learning model with field trips. The research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, conducted over two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Before conducting the research, an initial survey was performed through observations and a pre-test to understand the actual classroom conditions. The findings from the first cycle indicated that 15 students had not yet achieved the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM). Therefore, the research proceeded to the second cycle to improve the results further. The data analysis from the second cycle showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. The cooperative learning model with field trips effectively enhanced student interaction with peers and teachers, increased active participation, and encouraged students to respect others' opinions while freely and responsibly presenting material. The average score of the students in the final test of the first cycle was 73.9, whereas, in the second cycle, it increased to 83.4. Additionally, the percentage of students scoring above the KKM reached 91% in the second cycle. These results demonstrate that the cooperative learning model with field trips successfully enhances the learning outcomes of Social Studies on the topic of "Understanding and Describing Types of Markets" for third-grade students at SDN Kemayoran I Surabaya. The study concludes that implementing innovative and interactive learning methods can effectively address low student achievement and improve the quality of education in elementary schools. Future recommendations include the continuous use of such engaging and contextual teaching methods to achieve optimal learning outcomes for all students .

Abstract

This School Action Research (SAR) was conducted at SMP Negeri 30 Surabaya to improve teachers' pedagogical competencies by implementing clinical-based classroom supervision. The research focused on assessing the impact of clinical supervision on the teachers' ability to develop and execute effective lesson plans and enhance their teaching practices. The study was carried out in two cycles, each involving stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection, to ensure systematic improvement. Data were collected through classroom observations, pre- and post-supervision interviews, and reflective discussions with teachers, school principals, and supervisors. The findings demonstrated a significant increase in the quality of lesson planning and teaching practices. Specifically, the assessment score for lesson planning rose by 27.9%, from an average of 3.4 in Cycle I to 4.4 in Cycle II, while the score for teaching implementation improved by 16.8%, from an average of 3.7 in Cycle I to 4.3 in Cycle II. These results underscore the effectiveness of clinical supervision in bridging the gap between current and ideal teaching practices, fostering a more reflective and responsive teaching approach. However, challenges were identified, including the varying readiness of teachers for clinical supervision and limited opportunities for regular supervision due to the administrative duties of school leaders and supervisors. To overcome these barriers, a more collaborative and well-coordinated approach is needed, along with efforts to build a positive mindset among teachers about the benefits of supervision. In conclusion, clinical supervision, when strategically implemented, serves as a powerful tool for enhancing teaching quality and promoting continuous professional development in schools..

Abstract

The use of Information Technology to Optimize Student Engagement in the "Lensa Literasi" School Library at SDN Wonokusumo VI/45 is a study aimed at exploring how the integration of information technology (IT) can affect student engagement in school libraries. This research adopts a mixed-method approach by combining quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative study was conducted through a survey of 200 students using purposive sampling techniques to understand the frequency of IT usage, the types of technology used, and their perceptions of engagement in the library. The results showed that most students use computers and the internet to search for information, while the use of e-books and library mobile applications is also significant. The qualitative study involved in-depth interviews with 20 participants, including students, librarians, and teachers, to explore their experiences using IT in the library, its impact on learning, and the challenges faced in its implementation. Thematic analysis of the interviews revealed that IT integration enhances information accessibility, students' learning motivation, and the effectiveness of library services. The findings of this study highlight the importance of strategic planning in integrating IT, developing adequate infrastructure, and providing continuous training for librarians and students. Practical recommendations include improving technical support, developing IT-based student engagement programs, and conducting regular evaluations to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of IT integration in school libraries. This study is expected to provide significant contributions to educational policies and library management practices that focus on the use of technology to enhance the quality of education and student literacy

Abstract

Quality management in Islamic education is a response to the need for improved institutional quality, adapting to societal changes and the evolving times. This research investigates the historical development of quality management concepts in Islamic education, from classical periods to the modern era, using a historical-qualitative library research approach that draws from primary and secondary sources. Findings reveal that since ancient times, quality has been ingrained in Islamic values through the principles of ihsan, itqan, and amanah, evident in madrasah and pesantren systems. In contemporary times, quality management, including approaches like Total Quality Management (TQM), has been integrated with Islamic spiritual values, leading some Islamic educational institutions to successfully implement national and international quality standards to boost competitiveness. This demonstrates that effective quality management hinges not just on administrative systems but also on deeply internalizing Islamic values across all educational facets.

Abstract

The post-truth era and information overload have created an epistemological crisis in education, particularly in shaping the moral character of Muslim youth. The abundance of unfiltered information blurs the line between truth and opinion, thereby challenging the effectiveness of conventional Islamic moral curricula. This article proposes a new formulation in the form of a digital moral curriculum based on neuro-Islamic principles, integrating neuroscience, Islamic epistemology, and tarbiyah values within a transdisciplinary framework. This research employs a critical library research method to formulate the philosophical and pedagogical foundations of an Islamic moral curriculum that is adaptive to the digital context. The findings indicate that a brain-based Islamic ethics learning approach, combined with tarbiyah principles such as sincerity (ikhlas), trustworthiness (amanah), and responsibility, can shape a curriculum structure that is responsive to ethical challenges in the digital age. The implications of this curriculum are expected to provide a more contextual, humanistic, and scientifically grounded design for Islamic moral education.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between teacher creativity and student academic achievement at SDN Pemurus Dalam 5 Banjarmasin. Employing a quantitative approach, the research involved 20 students from class VB as the sample, drawn from a total population of 400 students. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, and analyzed using the Pearson product-moment correlation method. The results indicate that the level of teacher creativity falls within the moderate category, with an average score of 52.7. Despite this, teacher creativity was found to have a significant positive contribution to students’ learning outcomes. The statistical analysis revealed a correlation coefficient of r = 0.796, which exceeds the critical values of r_table = 0.444 at the 5% significance level and r_table = 0.561 at the 1% significance level. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ), stating that there is a relationship between teacher creativity and student academic achievement, is accepted. This study presents a novel contribution by empirically demonstrating a strong correlation between teacher creativity and student achievement at the elementary level a domain that has received limited attention in correlation-based quantitative research, especially in public schools. The findings emphasize the critical role of creative pedagogical practices in enhancing student learning performance, particularly in lower grade classrooms where instructional dynamics often rely heavily on teacher initiative. .

Abstract

Jurnal ini mengkaji penerapan skala Likert dalam penelitian berbasis survei di berbagai bidang seperti ilmu sosial, pendidikan, dan psikologi. Skala Likert memberikan responden otonomi dalam mengevaluasi pertanyaan, sehingga pemilihan skala menjadi krusial untuk validitas data. Namun, banyak peneliti menghadapi tantangan seperti bias respons dan penyalahgunaan jenis skala, yang dapat memengaruhi integritas data. Studi ini mengidentifikasi kesenjangan dalam metodologi yang mapan untuk memilih skala yang paling sesuai, dan merekomendasikan pengembangan pedoman standar untuk meningkatkan efikasi dan relevansi penelitian. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi bahwa pemilihan skala yang sistematis dapat meningkatkan ketelitian metodologis dan memberikan wawasan yang lebih jelas tentang pertanyaan penelitian. Penelitian ini juga menyoroti efektivitas penggunaan video singkat di media sosial seperti YouTube Shorts, TikTok, dan Instagram Reels sebagai media pembelajaran bahasa Jepang, serta menganalisis pengaruh kualitas layanan pendidikan dan kinerja dosen terhadap kepuasan dan loyalitas mahasiswa di universitas Islam di Indonesia. Selain itu, artikel ini membahas pentingnya meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman pelajar terhadap bidang STEM melalui program interaktif yang melibatkan tenaga surya.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of digital advertising campaigns in improving the image of Islamic educational institutions at MI Bahrul Ulum, Watupanjang Village, Krucil District. The research location was chosen because of its characteristics as a rural area with limited access to technology but with untapped potential for digital marketing development. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach, involving data collection through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Research informants consisted of madrasah administrators, teachers, parents, and the surrounding community. The results showed that the digital advertising campaign conducted through social media such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook successfully expanded the reach of information and increased public awareness of the existence and advantages of MI Bahrul Ulum. Content that emphasized Islamic values and modern learning was able to attract interest and build audience trust. However, limitations in human resources for content management and unstable internet access remain major challenges in maximizing the effectiveness of digital campaigns. In conclusion, digital advertising campaigns play a crucial role in strengthening MI Bahrul Ulum's image as a credible and innovative Islamic educational institution. Enhancing the capacity of administrators and improving technological infrastructure are essential for optimizing future digital marketing strategies.
