Abstract

This study aims to examine the optimization of digital media as a means of promoting education within public schools, specifically at SD Negeri Kedawung II Kuripan Probolinggo. In today’s digital era, social media and other digital platforms have become strategic tools for building the image and communication of educational institutions to the wider public. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, involving data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that the use of digital media at SD Negeri Kedawung II has enhanced the school’s visibility, strengthened communication with parents, and attracted public interest in the educational programs offered. The main challenges lie in the limited human resources and insufficient technological proficiency, which still need to be improved. Nevertheless, digital media has proven effective in strengthening the branding of public schools when managed consistently and professionally. This study recommends the establishment of a school digital promotion team, specialized training for content managers, and policy support from the local Department of Education.

Abstract

This study focuses on the transformation of Islamic da'wah values into brand loyalty strategies within Islamic educational institutions based on modern pesantren. The main objective is to examine how core da'wah values such as shiddiq (honesty), amanah (responsibility), tabligh (value transmission), and ukhuwah islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood) are internalized into the institutional system and communication strategies of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Sullamul Hidayah in Probolinggo. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that da'wah values are concretely integrated into managerial and institutional communication practices, fostering emotional and spiritual loyalty among students and parents. This strategy aligns with a value-based marketing approach, in which loyalty is built not only on the technical quality of educational services but also on the alignment of shared values perceived by education consumers. The study contributes to Islamic educational management theory by introducing the concept of da'wah-based brand loyalty. Practically, it implies that Islamic educational institutions should adopt da'wah values as the foundation for their policies and service strategies to build long-term trust and attachment with the community.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of digital technology, specifically social media, on consumer decision-making in the context of Islamic education at a private school in Probolinggo, Indonesia. As access to information increasingly shifts to digital platforms, it is essential to understand how this change influences the decisions of parents and students when selecting an Islamic educational institution. Social media platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook, have become key tools for schools to engage with prospective students and their families. However, the depth and accuracy of the information provided through these platforms play a crucial role in the decision-making process. Using a qualitative approach and case study methodology, the research collected data through in-depth interviews and observations of the school’s social media presence. The findings reveal that social media significantly influences decision-making by providing easy access to information about school activities, values, and student life. While social media is effective in attracting initial interest, many parents and students still seek more detailed information, particularly about academic achievements and school facilities, before finalizing their decision. The study concludes that while social media is a valuable tool for engagement, it must be complemented by additional communication channels, such as school visits or comprehensive websites, to offer a fuller understanding of the institution. This research provides insights into how schools can enhance their digital presence to facilitate more informed decision-making

Abstract

The rapid growth of digitalization presents both challenges and opportunities for multicultural societies in maintaining social harmony. Yogyakarta, renowned for its cultural and religious diversity, continues to uphold its identity as an inclusive and tolerant city. This study aims to examine how Yogyakarta’s multicultural communities preserve values of tolerance amid the complexities of the digital era. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, the findings reveal that the city’s tolerant social character is shaped by deeply rooted local cultural values, the strengthening of multicultural education, and the strategic role of Islamic religious education in fostering mutual respect for differences. Furthermore, strong digital literacy plays a crucial role in mitigating misinformation and facilitating constructive dialogue in online spaces. Collaboration among educators, religious leaders, families, and government policy further reinforces the community’s social resilience. These findings underscore that sustaining tolerance in the digital era requires the integration of local wisdom, contextualized education, and wise use of technology. Hence, cross-sectoral synergy emerges as a key strategy in building sustainable social cohesion amid pluralism and societal transformation

Abstract

The waste crisis does not only occur because it is caused by fossils, but with the development of civilization, environmental damage is also influenced by human lifestyles related to the internet. Human life, which cannot be separated from the internet, turns out to have an influence on the environment. Digital waste is often ignored by society due to the lack of ecological literacy. Through this research, it is hoped that society will have comprehensive ecotheological awareness so that they can take wise actions in interacting with the internet. The method used uses qualitative exploration. This method is used to explore and discover new environmental problems that the general public is not aware of. This research shows that ecotheological awareness in the digital space today needs to remember the problem of digital waste which many people are not aware of. Efforts to transform awareness into an alternative preventive effort that can prevent further energy crises.

Abstract

Abstract. This article explores the dimensions of patience education (ṣabr) as articulated in Surah al-Baqarah, verses 153–157, which constitute a significant discourse on resilience, spiritual steadfastness, and divine guidance within the Qur’anic worldview. The study is motivated by the urgent need to reconsider the theological and pedagogical significance of patience amidst contemporary global challenges such as socio-political instability, mental health crises, and educational transformation. Employing library research combined with content analysis, this inquiry examines both classical and modern exegesis as well as comparative educational theories to uncover the multilayered meanings of the text. Findings reveal that patience in these verses is not merely a theological obligation but also a pedagogical principle that nurtures holistic human development—integrating faith, cognition, and emotional resilience. The verses emphasize patience as an active and constructive response to trials, reinforced through remembrance of God and collective solidarity within the faith community. Theoretically, this study contributes to Qur’anic pedagogy by positioning ṣabr as the foundation of character education and moral development. Practically, it offers insights for contemporary education by framing patience as a transformative instrument for personal growth, conflict resolution, and socio-religious resilience. By bridging Qur’anic hermeneutics and educational discourse, this study provides both a renewed conceptual framework and a practical model for integrating the education of patience into formal and informal learning systems.

Abstract

This article explores a comparative study of the concept of moral education as formulated by two prominent Islamic thinkers, Al-Ghazali (1058–1111) and Ibn Miskawaih (932–1030). Although originating from distinct intellectual traditions—Al-Ghazali with his strong theological-mystical orientation and Ibn Miskawaih with his philosophical-ethical approach—both figures made significant contributions to the development of moral education within the Islamic intellectual heritage. The objective of this study is to analyze the similarities and differences in their perspectives and to highlight their relevance to contemporary educational discourse. Methodologically, this research employs a qualitative approach through library-based studies, examining classical works such as Ihya’ Ulum al-Din by Al-Ghazali and Tahdhib al-Akhlaq by Ibn Miskawaih, alongside secondary sources that provide scholarly interpretations of their ideas. The findings reveal that both thinkers emphasize the cultivation of virtue and the purification of the soul as the primary goals of education, yet they differ in their epistemological foundations and pedagogical strategies. Al-Ghazali emphasizes spiritual refinement and the integration of religious devotion, whereas Ibn Miskawaih stresses rational balance and ethical habituation. Theoretically, this study contributes to the ongoing discourse on Islamic moral philosophy by bridging theological and philosophical perspectives. Practically, it offers insights for contemporary educators on integrating ethical and spiritual dimensions into curriculum design, particularly in addressing the challenges of moral decline in modern society. Thus, this comparative framework not only enriches Islamic educational thought but also provides universal lessons applicable across cultural and religious contexts.

Abstract

The study of contemporary Islamic educational thought highlights the urgent need to build a conceptual bridge between the classical Islamic educational tradition and modern Western educational philosophy. This article aims to provide a comprehensive examination of the concept of tarbiyah as articulated by Hasan Al-Banna and Abul A‘la Maududi—two influential twentieth-century thinkers who made significant contributions to the formation of modern Islamic educational paradigms. The research employs a library research method with a content analysis approach, focusing on the primary works of both figures as well as relevant secondary sources. The analysis centers on identifying similarities, differences, and potential avenues for conceptual dialogue between their notions of tarbiyah and the framework of modern Western education. The findings reveal that Al-Banna emphasizes the spiritual, moral, and social-practical dimensions in shaping the complete Muslim individual, while Maududi highlights ideological and political aspects as the foundation for establishing an Islamic social order. Despite their differing orientations, both share a common goal—forming the insan kamil (the perfect human being) who is faithful, knowledgeable, and virtuous. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of a conceptual synthesis between Islamic and Western education by integrating spiritual values with modern rationality. Practically, the findings serve as a foundation for educators and policymakers in designing holistic Islamic education curricula that accommodate the spiritual, intellectual, and social needs of contemporary Muslim societies. Thus, this research underscores the enduring relevance and vitality of Al-Banna’s and Maududi’s ideas in bridging the East–West dichotomy within modern educational discourse.

Abstract

This study originates from the importance of understanding the philosophical foundations of da’wah education within the context of Indonesian Islam, which is rich in the thoughts of reformist scholars. Among them, KH. Hasyim Asy’ari and KH. Ahmad Dahlan represent two distinct yet complementary approaches—Islamic traditionalism and modernism. The purpose of this study is to compare their perspectives on da’wah education, including its objectives, methods, and underlying value orientations. The research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, conducting a comparative analysis of the key works of both figures, such as Adabul ‘Alim wal Muta’allim and writings on the Muhammadiyah educational system. The findings reveal that KH. Hasyim Asy’ari emphasized da’wah grounded in moral exemplarity, ethics (adab), and the preservation of pesantren scholarly traditions, whereas KH. Ahmad Dahlan focused on socially engaged da’wah through modern education and community empowerment. Theoretically, this study enriches the discourse of Islamic education by proposing a synthesis between value-based education and action-based education. Practically, its findings can serve as a reference for developing a holistic model of da’wah education that integrates the spiritual, intellectual, and social dimensions in shaping a generation of Muslims who are both morally grounded and globally competitive.

Abstract

The philosophy of Islamic education has made a significant contribution to the development of contemporary educational theory and practice. Among its most prominent figures, Ibn Sina and Al-Ghazali occupy central positions, as both offer educational paradigms rooted in the integration of knowledge, ethics, and spirituality. This article aims to analyze the relevance of the educational philosophies of these two thinkers in the context of modern education, which tends to be pragmatic and secular. This study employs a library research approach with content analysis methods applied to Ibn Sina’s major works such as Kitab al-Shifa’ and Kitab al-Najat, as well as Al-Ghazali’s Ihya’ Ulum al-Din and Ayyuha al-Walad. The findings indicate that Ibn Sina emphasizes rationality and intellectual development as the path toward human perfection (al-insan al-kamil), while Al-Ghazali focuses on purification of the soul and the balance between rational and divine knowledge. In the context of modern education, the synthesis of their thoughts offers a holistic educational model that integrates intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions. Theoretically, this research enriches the discourse on the integration of knowledge and values within Islamic educational philosophy; practically, it provides a philosophical foundation for developing a character education curriculum oriented toward humanity and transcendence.
