Abstract

This study examines the transformation of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) practice in the domains of adab (ethics), law, and social governance from the Umayyad (661-750 CE) to the Abbasid (750-1258 CE) era. The research aims to analyze how Islamic legal thought evolved from a relatively informal tradition of scholarly opinion into a highly systematized body of jurisprudence with profound implications for state governance and social organization. Employing a qualitative historical-juridical approach with library research design and comparative legal analysis, this study draws on classical fiqh texts, historiographical sources, and contemporary Indonesian Islamic legal scholarship. Findings reveal three interconnected transformations: first, the institutionalization of qadi (judicial) courts and the professionalization of Islamic legal practice; second, the codification of adab as both ethical norm and jurisprudential category shaping governance; third, the emergence of the four major legal schools (madhahib) as pillars of social order and civilizational identity. This study concludes that the Umayyad-Abbasid transformation of fiqh represents a foundational chapter for understanding Islamic legal pluralism and its contemporary relevance for Indonesia.

Abstract

The utilization of digital technology in Arabic language learning, particularly digital dictionaries for jamak taksir (broken plurals), significantly depends on user experience (UX). This study aims to evaluate students' learning experiences using a jamak taksir digital dictionary in kitabah (writing) instruction at IAI Darul A’mal Lampung. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected from 10 students via Likert-scale questionnaires and observations, then analyzed using SPSS. The results indicate that the user experience falls into the "Excellent" category, with an average score of 4.28 (85.6%). Specific scores include user satisfaction (4.35) and usefulness (4.40). Students found it easier to adapt, felt supported during the writing process, and showed increased confidence. Despite obstacles such as limited interactive features and varying digital literacy, these findings prove that UX is vital for effective learning media. Consequently, future digital media development must comprehensively consider user experience to enhance the quality of Arabic language pedagogy in religious higher education.

Abstract

This study examines the reconstruction of adab (Islamic ethics and conduct) as a civilizational foundation in Islamic education. The research aims to analyze how adab can be repositioned as a foundational framework in the intellectual, moral, and institutional development of contemporary Islamic educational systems. Using a qualitative approach with library research design and content analysis, this study draws upon classical Islamic manuscripts, historiographical texts, and contemporary Indonesian scholarship. The findings reveal that adab serves not merely as an individual code of conduct, but as a comprehensive paradigm integrating scholarly ethics, pedagogical principles, aesthetic sensibilities, and social norms. The revitalization of adab within educational institutions provides a holistic model that unifies diverse learners under a shared intellectual and moral identity. This study concludes that adab constitutes a civilizational heritage of profound relevance for the reformation of contemporary Islamic education and the renewal of Muslim intellectual and moral culture.

Abstract

This article examines the effectiveness of the Educational Management Information System (EMIS) in the digitalization of student administration, analyzed through the lens of Islamic adab (ethics of knowledge) and Islamic civilization. The rich Islamic scholarly tradition — as exemplified by bayt al-hikmah, madrasah, and ribath institutions — places administrative precision, data integrity, and amanah (trustworthiness) in knowledge management as core civilizational values. This mixed-method study involved 120 respondents from 6 Islamic senior high schools in Lampung Province. Results show that EMIS implementation increased student administrative efficiency by 72%, reduced data errors by 65%, and improved user satisfaction by 78%. The study argues that digitalization of student administration is not merely a technical modernization but a manifestation of Islamic adab values — amanah (trustworthiness), itqan (excellence in work), and khidmah al-‘ilm (service to knowledge) — consonant with the Islamic civilizational mission of orderly and equitable knowledge transmission. This research contributes to the discourse on social transformation of Islamic educational institutions in responding to modernity while preserving civilizational roots.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic supervision in developing teacher professionalism in Islamic educational institutions. The research background is based on the urgent need for a supervision model that is not only administratively oriented, but also carries spiritual and pedagogical values. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of Islamic supervision and its influence on enhancing teachers' professional competence. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach in three public madrasah aliyah. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The results show that Islamic supervision emphasizing the values of ukhuwah, amanah, and tauladan is able to significantly increase teachers' intrinsic motivation. Madrasah principals who apply Islamic value-based supervision succeeded in creating a conducive and collaborative academic climate. It is concluded that Islamic supervision is an effective holistic approach to improving teacher professionalism in madrasah

Abstract

Educational supervision has predominantly focused on technical and administrative aspects, thereby neglecting the human dimension of teachers as dignified educators. This study aims to design an adab-based educational supervision model that positions teacher-student and supervisor-teacher relationships as ethical and humanistic relations. The research employs a qualitative approach with case study method conducted in three schools in Lampung Province. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Results indicate that adab-based supervision enhances teachers' self-confidence, strengthens intrinsic motivation, and builds a school culture of mutual respect. It is concluded that humanizing supervision not only improves learning quality but also shapes the character of educational institutions toward civility and dignity.
