Abstract

Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) learning in vocational high schools often faces challenges in improving students’ problem-solving skills and monitoring their learning progress. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of implementing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) supported by Deep Knowledge Tracing (DKT) in improving junior programmer competencies. A pre-experimental method with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design was employed involving 36 tenth-grade Software Engineering students at SMKN 10 Surabaya. Learning activities were conducted through the Skill Byte Learning Management System (LMS), which facilitated PBL activities and DKT-based learning analytics. Data were collected through pretest-posttest assessments, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and the Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed that the average cognitive score increased from 50.15 to 84.44, while the statistical test indicated a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings demonstrate that implementing PBL supported by DKT effectively improves students’ competencies and assists teachers in monitoring learning progress through learning analytics. Therefore, this approach provides a more active, adaptive, and student-centered programming learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze global media ethics in the digital era, specifically by identifying the various challenges and opportunities arising from advancements in communication technology. A qualitative method employing a library research approach was used, involving the search and analysis of scholarly literature via Publish or Perish (PoP) integrated with Google Scholar and Scopus. Analysis was conducted through data reduction, interpretation, and synthesis of relevant sources. The results indicate that key challenges in global media ethics include algorithmic dominance, rising disinformation, and social polarization that affects the quality of public communication. Conversely, strategic opportunities exist in the form of strengthened digital literacy, increased public participation, and the development of cross-sector collaborative regulations. These findings underscore the dynamic nature of global media ethics, necessitating an adaptive approach that integrates technological, policy, and user-awareness aspects. The study's implications are expected to serve as a foundation for developing more ethical media policies and strengthening responsible digital communication practices on a global scale.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of a Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS) named "Abdilbar Learning Space," integrated with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. The research addresses the low critical thinking skills and independence of 26 class XI TKJ students in solving technical problems during the System Administrator subject. Using the ADDIE Research and Development (R&D) model, the process included Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. Expert validations yielded highly feasible results: 96.67% for media, 89.7% for teaching modules, 98.18% for learning materials, and 97.27% for test items. Black box testing confirmed all functions operated correctly. The implementation proved effective, showing a significant increase in cognitive competence; the average score rose from 50.38 (pre-test) to 88.65 (post-test) with an N-Gain of 0.7598 (high category) and a Wilcoxon significance value of p < 0.001. Psychomotor skills also showed excellent achievement with an average project completion score of 95.00. In conclusion, the Moodle-based LMS with a PjBL approach is valid and effective in improving students' cognitive and psychomotor competencies.

Abstract

A motorcycle steering shaft is subjected to torsional loads during vehicle steering; therefore, it requires a lightweight material with adequate mechanical strength. This study aimed to analyze the effect of carbon fiber orientation on the torsional strength of hollow cylindrical composite specimens fabricated using the vacuum infusion method. The specimens were manufactured from 3K 240 gsm twill carbon fiber and epoxy resin with 11 layers and fiber orientation variations of 0°, 45°, and 90°. The specimen geometry was based on a 1:2 scale model of the Honda Vario 125 steering shaft, with an outer diameter of 16.5 mm, an inner diameter of 11 mm, and a total length of 200 mm. Static torsion testing was conducted, and the experimental data were processed to determine the maximum torque, maximum shear stress, and shear modulus. The results showed that the 45° fiber orientation provided the best torsional strength, with an average maximum torque of 35.31 N·m and an average maximum shear stress of 49.89 MPa. Therefore, the 45° fiber orientation produced the highest maximum torsional strength among the tested orientation variations under laboratory conditions.

Abstract

The number of complaints received through the MyPelindo app has increased in line with its high usage for operational and administrative activities by employees. The large volume of complaint data received makes manual identification and grouping of complaints less effective and time-consuming. Therefore, the aim of this study is to extract and standardise complaint topics using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) method, build a classification model based on the obtained topics, and implement this model in a website-based system to automatically predict the category of user complaints. The study was conducted using a text mining approach with a Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) methodology, which includes the preprocessing stage, topic modelling using LDA and topic standardisation based on cosine similarity. The results of the standardisation were then used as category labels in the classification process. The best model was then implemented in a web-based system using the Flask framework. The results of the study showed that the optimal number of topics obtained was eight, with the highest coherence score of 0.353. The standardisation process successfully simplified the eight topics into three main categories: Ganti Perangkat & Error Umum, Masalah Login & Akun, and Absensi & Koreksi Data. Based on the classification evaluation results, the best model was Logistic Regression, achieving an accuracy rate of 96.05% and an F1-score of 0.96. The implementation of the web-based system also successfully predicted the category of complaints based on user input.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the coffee shop industry demands service efficiency that conventional operational systems can no longer accommodate. Coffee Kala Seduh, operating under PT Kala Nusantara, faces critical obstacles in the form of customer queue accumulation during rush hours and discrepancies in raw material stock recapitulation caused by manual recording practices. This study aims to design and evaluate the level of user acceptance toward a QR-Code-based Point of Sale (POS) and Self-Ordering information system as a technological intervention to address these problems. The research employs a Mixed Methods approach with a Sequential Exploratory strategy, integrated with the Action Research cycle consisting of diagnosing, action planning, action taking, evaluating, and learning. System design was carried out through Context Diagram, Use Case Diagram, Activity Diagram, and Entity Relationship Diagram modeling, followed by the development of a high-fidelity interface prototype using Figma. The level of user acceptance was measured using a Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) questionnaire instrument comprising three dimensions, namely Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Perceived Usefulness (PU), and User Satisfaction (SAT), distributed to 30 respondents through purposive sampling. The quantitative descriptive analysis yielded an actual score of 1,658 out of an ideal maximum score of 1,800, resulting in a feasibility percentage of 92.11%, which falls within the Very Good/Highly Feasible category. Qualitative findings from open-ended feedback further indicated the need for additional development, particularly a menu-note customization feature and an expanded range of e-wallet payment channels. This study concludes that the POS and Self-Ordering information system intervention is feasible for full implementation in the operations of Coffee Kala Seduh.
