Abstract

The gap between prophetic ownership principles in hadith and contemporary economic practices forms this research background. This study aims to analyze ownership concepts in hadith and explore their relevance to modern economics. The research employs qualitative methodology with descriptive-analytical approach through literature review. Findings reveal that ownership from hadith perspective constitutes trust (amanah) rather than absolute right. Three fundamental principles emerge: moral and social responsibility of owners, limitations preventing economic exploitation, and lawful wealth acquisition mechanisms. Implementation of these principles in modern economic systems manifests through Islamic banking, anti-monopoly regulations, and ethical digital economic development. The study formulates a tiered ownership model based on maqashid syariah with equitable redistribution mechanisms as alternative solution addressing global economic disparities.

Abstract

This study explores the relevance of Qur’anic verses on the afterlife—specifically Q.S. Qaf: 19–23, Al-A‘la: 14–17, and Al-Ḥadīd: 20—toward strengthening the values of faith in Islamic education. The study addresses the gap between students' cognitive understanding of eschatological beliefs and their moral application in daily life. Using a qualitative design with thematic exegesis (tafsir maudhū ‘ī) and literature-based analysis, the research highlights how these verses can serve as foundational elements in forming students' spiritual awareness and moral accountability. The findings show that belief in the afterlife is not only theological but plays an ethical and pedagogical role in shaping behavior and educational systems. This includes curriculum orientation, character development, evaluation principles, and administrative practices inspired by the Qur’anic worldview of accountability. The study concludes that eschatological faith should be integrated across disciplines, not limited to religious subjects. It further recommends future research to design practical models of eschatological learning and contextual evaluation instruments for Islamic education.

Abstract

This  study  aims  to  describe  the  implementation  of  tawhid  values  in  maintaining  environmental cleanliness within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Tawhid, as the core principle of Islamic teaching that emphasizes the oneness of Allah, serves as a moral and spiritual foundation for daily behavior,  including  environmental  care.  This  research  employed  a  qualitative  approach  through observations and interviews with pesantren administrators and students. The findings indicate that awareness of tawhid motivates students to care for their environment as a form of responsibility toward Allah’s creation. Regular cleaning activities are conducted as part of religious practice, such as  picking  up  litter,  nurturing  plants,  and  maintaining  a  clean  and  healthy  environment.  The pesantren also instills the value of cleanliness through routine practices and religious education that are directly connected to the doctrine of tawhid. This study concludes that tawhid values help shape students' environmental awareness, making cleanliness an integral part of their faith and the holistic implementation of Islamic teachings.

Abstract

Music is a manifestation of human intellectuality and imagination combined with rhyme and tone as a means of conveying deep expression. This study analyzes the representation of spirituality and romance  in  the  song  Munajat  Cinta  by  Ahmad  Dhani  and  T.R.I.A.D.  using  Roland  Barthes' semiotic  approach.  This  qualitative  descriptive  study  explores  the  denotative  and  connotative meanings  in  the  song's  lyrics  to  understand  the  messages  contained  therein.  The  results  of  the analysis  show  that  this  song  represents  the  meaning  of  spirituality  through  an  individual's relationship  with  God,  such  as  prayer,  surrender,  and  spiritual  reflection.  The  lyrics  reveal  the meaning of tawakal and a sense of devotion to God as a source of strength. On the other hand, the dimension of romance is seen from the emotional expression of the struggle for love, trauma, and the desire for sincere love. Symbols such as "wilted roses" strengthen the narrative about the fragility of feelings and the search for happiness. Munajat Cinta is not only a musical work, but has a representation of the meaning of deep spirituality and romance.

Abstract

The relationship between faith and ecological responsibility in studying Islamic religious education (PAI) is very close. In Islam, faith is not only related to spiritual and ritual aspects, but also includes responsibility  towards  the  environment.  Based  on  Islamic  ecotheology,  PAI  teachings  contain environmental care values originating from the Al-Quran and Hadith. The aim of this research is not only in the cognitive realm, but also concerns increasing awareness, attitudes, behavior, skills and  participation  that  lead  to  environmentally  responsible  morals  and  ethics  at  MTs  Al-IchsanNanggulan. The planned learning strategy must implement aspects of learning materials, learning strategies and models, as well as support from educational institutions to achieve these goals. This research uses a qualitative approach with observation and interview methods. And there are many references taken from various journals, books and previous research results related to this problem. It is hoped that the results of this research will contribute conceptually and become an inspiration for the development of praxis.

Abstract

Testimony constitutes an essential evidentiary instrument within Indonesian and Islamic judicial systems, yet its application encounters practical complexities. This research aims to analyze the position of testimony in court evidentiary systems through a juridical-normative approach by comparing Indonesian positive law and Islamic law. The method employed is normative juridical with qualitative analysis of legal norms, testimony concepts, and case studies. Research findings indicate that: (1) Testimony regulation in KUHAP adheres to the negative legal system, while Islamic judiciary implements testimony hierarchy based on case types with more rigid standards; (2) Validity requirements for testimony in positive law emphasize procedural-formal aspects, whereas Islamic law applies the principles of 'adalah and dhabt with comprehensive tazkiyah al-syuhud mechanism; (3) The evidentiary position of testimony in Indonesian system is flexible with Constitutional Court Decision No. 65/PUU-VIII/2010 expanding acceptance of testimonium de auditu, while Islamic system applies the principle of "dar'u al-hudud bi al-syubuhat" for maximum prudence. This research concludes that despite different approaches, both systems converge toward justice objectives through mutually complementary mechanisms within Indonesia's legal plurality context.

Abstract

This research analyzes the implementation of muthlaq and muqayyad principles in determining family maintenance (nafkah) through a methodological approach to Islamic family law texts. The study addresses the complexity of interpreting absolute (muthlaq) and conditional (muqayyad) legal texts in contemporary family maintenance determination. Using qualitative library research with textual analysis (tahlil an-nushush), comparative analysis (al-manhaj al-muqaran), and contextual analysis methods, this research examines primary sources including the Quran, hadith collections, and classical fiqh literature. The findings reveal that Quranic verses and prophetic traditions combine muthlaq and muqayyad expressions, providing flexibility while establishing boundaries in maintenance standards. Different Islamic schools (madhabs) apply these principles with varying approaches: Hanafi emphasizes contextual flexibility, Shafi'i focuses on standardization of basic needs, while Hanbali prioritizes balance between rights and obligations. The implementation in Indonesian family law, particularly through the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) and religious court decisions, demonstrates the relevance of classical ushul fiqh methodology for addressing contemporary family law issues. This research contributes a theoretical framework for analyzing contemporary family law matters using muthlaq-muqayyad principles.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) play a strategic role in the development of Islamic Education (PAI) in Indonesia, particularly by establishing Arabic language proficiency as a foundation for Islamic literacy. Arabic is not merely treated as a linguistic subject; it is positioned as an epistemological prerequisite for accessing primary sources of Islamic teachings, such as the Qur'an, hadith, and classical texts. This article aims to synthesize narratively the findings of research related to the role of Islamic boarding schools in instilling Arabic proficiency as the basis for Islamic Education in Indonesia. This study employs a Narrative Literature Review (NLR) approach, examining literature sourced from the SCOPUS, GARUDA, and Google Scholar databases. The literature was selected purposively based on its relevance to the context of pesantren, Arabic language learning, and its connection to PAI comprehension. The analysis is conducted through narrative synthesis to identify patterns in findings, learning mechanisms, and the epistemological implications of Arabic within pesantren education. The review reveals that pesantren consistently position Arabic as the epistemological foundation of PAI through the mastery of syntax and morphology (nahwu and sharaf), the habituation of reading classical texts (kitab kuning), the creation of an Arabic-language environment (bi'ah lughawiyyah), and the integration of Arabic into the curriculum and religious activities. Proficiency in foundational Arabic demonstrably has a direct implication on the quality of students' religious understanding, the formation of religious character, and their intellectual readiness for advanced Islamic studies. This article concludes that strengthening Islamic Education in pesantren is inseparable from reinforcing Arabic language proficiency as both a foundational discipline and the primary medium of religious learning. These findings carry significant implications for the development of policy and practice in pesantren education and open avenues for further research concerning the relationship between Arabic proficiency and PAI outcomes across various pesantren models.

Abstract

Psychological well-being is a concept that assesses a person's quality of life based on self-acceptance, purpose in life, positive relationships with others, independence, environmental mastery, and personal growth. In this study, the researcher examines the story of the Prophet Moses in three life stages that significantly shaped his psychological well-being: his relationship with his in-laws, his prophetic mission to confront Pharaoh, and his spiritual-cognitive learning process with the Prophet Khidir. This article analyzes how these three major experiences shaped Moses' psychological competence based on Carol Ryff's Psychological Well-Being theoretical framework. Furthermore, this study was also analyzed using classical and contemporary interpretation approaches. The results show that the Prophet Moses possessed all aspects of psychological well-being, but the strongest was the aspect of Life Purpose, followed by Self-Growth, Autonomy, Environmental Mastery, Self-Acceptance, and positive relationships with others. The Prophet Moses' psychological well-being occurred gradually, where his psychological well-being was supported by religiosity and social support, namely family. With the capital of his psychological well-being, Moses managed to overcome the difficult times he faced and succeeded in becoming a strong leader and defender of the oppressed.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze the evolution of Islamic education curriculum during the Umayyad Caliphate (661-750 CE), Abbasid Caliphate (750-1258 CE), and the Islamic Golden Age (8th to 14th century). Through a historical-analytical approach with systematic literature review, this research identifies structural and substantial transformations in the Islamic education system, encompassing institutional aspects, teaching methodologies, and knowledge integration. The findings reveal a significant shift from informal mentorship-based education during the Rashidun Caliphate period toward a formal structured educational system during the Umayyad era, which subsequently reached its zenith during the Abbasid period with the establishment of learning institutions such as Bayt al-Hikmah. This study also reveals that the integration of religious education and secular sciences became the primary characteristic of the Islamic curriculum, providing fundamental contributions to the advancement of Islamic civilization and world civilization as a whole. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed in the context of contemporary Islamic education development.
