Abstract

In the increasingly advanced digital era, artificial intelligence (AI) has changed the way we interact with technology and with each other. This study aims to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on human communication, as well as how this technology affects the dynamics of social and professional interactions. This study uses a qualitative approach with literature analysis and in-depth interviews with technology and communication practitioners in Indonesia. The results of the study show that artificial intelligence has a significant impact on increasing communication efficiency, but also brings challenges in terms of emotional relationships and privacy. The impact of artificial intelligence on human communication is very visible in various aspects of life, both in the professional and social worlds. The use of AI in chatbots, recommendation systems, and virtual assistants has accelerated the communication process, but also raises questions about its impact on the authenticity and quality of relationships between people. This study identifies the main challenges faced by Indonesian society in adapting to this new technology, including limited technological literacy and concerns about privacy. Overall, this study reveals the importance of managing communication more wisely amid the rapid development of artificial intelligence. Although this technology provides many benefits, organizations and individuals need to be aware of the potential risks that can arise, such as over-reliance on AI or negative impacts on more personal social interactions. This research is expected to provide deeper insights for communication practitioners, technology developers, and the wider community in facing communication challenges in the era of artificial intelligence.

Abstract

This research is entitled The Role of Media in Promoting Sustainable Tourism Practices, which aims to understand the contribution of the media in increasing tourist awareness of the concept of sustainable tourism. The method used in this study is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which allows the collection, analysis, and synthesis of various relevant research in a systematic manner. The SLR process involves identifying key research questions, literature search strategies from academic sources such as Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect, as well as data analysis to identify trends, key findings, and research gaps in the field under review. The results of the study show that media, both traditional and digital, have a strategic role in the promotion of sustainable tourism. Digital media, such as social media, blogs, and vlogs, are effective tools in disseminating information and shaping tourists' perceptions of sustainable destinations. Meanwhile, traditional media remains relevant in reaching certain segments of tourists. However, there are several challenges in the implementation of media as a means of promoting sustainable tourism, including greenwashing practices that can mislead tourists and low awareness of sustainability among industry players. Therefore, collaboration between the government, industry players, and the public is needed in optimizing the role of the media to support socially responsible, economic, and environmentally responsible tourism practices. With the right strategy, the media can be an important instrument in ensuring the sustainability of the tourism sector and providing long-term benefits for all stakeholders

Abstract

This study aims to examine the government's crisis communication strategy in dealing with misinformation in the digital era, focusing on the effectiveness of collaboration with micro-influencers in building public trust through a community approach. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which allows the systematic identification, evaluation, and synthesis of scientific literature. The literature search process is carried out through databases such as Scopus, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and ProQuest using relevant keywords. The inclusion criteria include publications in the last five years (2020–2024), written in English or Indonesian, and contain empirical data related to micro-influencers, audience trust, and community collaboration strategies. From the selection process, as many as 10 selected scientific articles were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of collaboration, community approaches, and trust-forming factors. The results of the study show that an effective crisis communication strategy must be adaptive, transparent, and collaborative, and involve digital actors such as micro-influencers who have closeness to the community. This collaboration has been proven to be able to strengthen the delivery of validated information and build public trust. The study recommends reforming the government's public communication policy to be more responsive to digital dynamics, placing trust and public engagement as the main foundation in dealing with the information crisis.

Abstract

This research aims to understand in depth the crisis communication strategies implemented by the government in dealing with misinformation in the digital era. The rapid spread of misinformation in the digital space is a serious challenge, especially in crisis situations that demand fast, accurate, and reliable communication responses. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, focusing on government institutions that have a strategic role in public communication, such as the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). Data was collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, documentation studies, digital media observations, and analyzed using qualitative content analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results show that although the government has utilized social media as the main channel in crisis communication, challenges such as limited message reach, lack of coordination between agencies, and low public trust still hinder the effectiveness of the strategy. Cross-sectoral cooperation, people's digital literacy, and the role of credible and trained spokespeople are key factors in building information resilience and increasing public trust during crises. Therefore, an adaptive, transparent, and data-based crisis communication strategy is indispensable to maintain social stability in the midst of dynamic digital information flows

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of government communication in conveying public policies through social media. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of content analysis of official social media accounts of government agencies, in-depth interviews with key informants, and online observation of public involvement. The results of the study indicate that the effectiveness of government communication on social media still varies between agencies, influenced by communication strategies, language styles, and forms of content presentation. Policy messages are often delivered formally and less communicatively, so they are not fully understood by the public. Two-way interaction is also still limited, resulting in low responsiveness to public comments and questions. Supporting factors for communication effectiveness include the professionalism of the management team, consistency of uploads, and the use of attractive visual content. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced include low digital literacy of the apparatus, limited communication budget, and the absence of standard digital communication guidelines. This study recommends the need for a more humanistic and participatory communication approach so that the delivery of public policies can be more effective and impactful.

Abstract

Independent journalism podcasts are now seen as a highly credible source of information, often even more trusted than mainstream media. This is due to the transparency of the narratives presented, consistency in topic selection, and freedom from pressure from certain parties, which allows for the delivery of broader and more diverse perspectives. Audiences rate independent podcasts as relatively objective, although the personal opinions of the podcasters remain influenced. A presentation style that combines conversational formats and storytelling techniques creates emotional intimacy, strengthens trust, and builds listener loyalty. Topics that are current and relevant, presented in a relaxed yet informative manner, are a unique attraction that distinguishes podcasts from conventional media. However, challenges remain, particularly in verifying information and the potential for personal bias, which can affect the accuracy and objectivity of the content. Therefore, audience media literacy is crucial so they can critically review the information they receive. With all their advantages, independent podcasts have the potential to enrich the media ecosystem by providing a more diverse alternative source of information, provided they maintain ethical standards, openness of sources, and transparency in every aspect of their production process.

Abstract

The 2024 regional elections (Pilkada) have their own unique characteristics, one of which is the emergence of young figures who have directly entered the world of politics. One of the campaign media used is billboards, which are spread across various cities in Indonesia. Billboards are outdoor media commonly used by presidential and legislative candidates to convey campaign messages. Generally, campaigns are conducted thematically and tailored to specific objectives. By starting the campaign early, candidates hope to attract sympathy and gain support from the public. The purpose of this study is to determine the semiotic meaning of photos in Giring's campaign billboards as a candidate for President in 2024. The focus of this research is how the visual meaning in the billboards is analyzed using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach with a qualitative descriptive method. In general, semiotics can be defined as the study of signs, including the elements of the signifier and the signified. Roland Barthes stated that the sign system reflects societal assumptions in the context of a particular time and place. In semiotic analysis, there are three main concepts in understanding visual meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth.
