Abstract

Herbal plants Herbal plants in Indonesia have an important role in traditional medicine and public health. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and mechanism of action of curcumin in chronic inflammatory therapy. This study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology.. This study uses a database from Scopus of 9 Scopus articles from the range of 2020 to 2025. There are three stages carried out in mapping the effectiveness and mechanism of action of curcumin in chronic inflammatory therapy, namely data harvesting, screening data and Data Analysis and Visualization. The results obtained are that curcumin is effective in chronic inflammatory therapy by inhibiting the main inflammatory pathways (NF-ƙB and JAK/STAT), has antioxidant effects, accelerates tissue regeneration, and functions as an immunomodulator. However, the limited bioavailability of curcumin presents a significant challenge in its application. Nanoformulation technology and its combination with compounds like CMPs can enhance its effectiveness in clinical therapy.The implications of this research are directed to researchers, the community and the government

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of antibiotics in the prevention and treatment of respiratory tract infections. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. There are three stages carried out in mapping the effectiveness of antibiotic use in the prevention and treatment of respiratory tract infections, namely: 1) harvesting data, 2) screening data, and 3) Data Analysis and Visualization. This study uses a database from Scopus with scientific journals as many as 9 articles from the range of 2021 to 2024. The effectiveness of antibiotic use in the prevention and treatment of respiratory tract infections is influenced by a variety of factors, including patient adherence, duration of therapy, and vaccine availability and use. Excessive or improper use of antibiotics can increase bacterial resistance, so more sustainable strategies, such as vaccination and stricter antibiotic use policies, are needed to improve the effectiveness of prevention and treatment of respiratory tract infections. The implications of this study are expected to be useful for future researchers and can be used in clinical applications

Abstract

This study aims to explore the global challenges faced in addressing bacterial resistance to antibiotics, which are now one of the most serious health threats in the world. This study was conducted through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by searching scientific articles from various databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar using the keywords "antibiotic resistance", "global health", "treatment failure", and "resistance mechanisms". The articles analyzed are publications in the last 10 years, focusing on the causes of resistance, their impact on global health, and countermeasures that have been carried out. The results of the study show that antibiotic resistance is mainly caused by the inappropriate use of antibiotics in the medical and non-medical sectors, lack of distribution supervision, and lack of development of new antibiotics. To overcome this, a comprehensive approach is needed, including increasing public education and health workers, strengthening regulations, and developing alternative therapies such as phagotherapy and vaccines. Without proper treatment, antibiotic resistance can lead to infection treatment failure, increased mortality rates, and burden the global health system

Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of pharmacy education in the digital era, as well as to prepare pharmacists to face global challenges. The method used is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which is carried out by collecting, evaluating, and synthesizing previous research results comprehensively. The research process includes identifying literature through academic databases such as Scopus, PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect, selecting studies based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, extracting data related to objectives, methods, results, and conclusions, synthesizing findings, and reporting research results. The results of the study indicate that pharmacy education needs to transform to prepare competent pharmacists in the digital era. Integration of technology into the curriculum such as e-learning, blended learning, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) provides a more flexible learning experience. In addition, mastery of technology such as big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and pharmacy information systems is essential to support evidence-based decision making and efficiency of health services. The challenges faced include limited infrastructure, resistance to change, and the gap between the competencies taught and the digital skills needed in the world of work. Therefore, curriculum updates and training for pharmacists who are already working are very necessary to ensure pharmacists are prepared to face an increasingly digitalized profession

Abstract

BUD (beyond use date) is very important to maintain the quality, safety, and effectiveness of the drug after the package is opened or blended. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of BUD (beyond use date) in various pharmaceutical facilities. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. This study uses a database from scopus. There are three stages carried out in mapping evaluated the application of BUD (beyond use date) in various pharmaceutical facilities, namely : 1) harvesting data, 2) data screening, 3) data analysis and visualization. From the results of data harvesting, 8 articles were published. Based on research with the SLR method that has been carried out, it can be concluded that penerapan Beyond Use Date (BUD) In pharmaceutical preparations, it is a critical aspect that affects the stability, effectiveness, and safety of the drug for patients. Previous studies have shown that adherence to medical standards has a significant impact on the success of therapy. Therefore, this study emphasizes the need for better standardization, increased pharmacist compliance, as well as further research on the impact of the implementation of BUD in clinical pharmacy. The implications of this study are addressed to the researchers and the pharmaceutical practice.

Abstract

The increase in pharmaceutical waste is a global concern due to its impact on the environment and public health. Pharmaceutical waste comes from a variety of sources, including households, healthcare facilities, and the pharmaceutical industry. This research aims to analyze the solutions needed to reduce the environmental impact in drug production. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method using a database from scopus. There are three stages carried out in mapping the analysis of solutions needed to reduce environmental impact in drug production, namely 1) harvesting data, 2) screening data and 3) Data Analysis and Visualization. Based on this step, seven scopus articles were analyzed. Based on research with the SLR method that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the solution to reduce environmental impact in drug production is 1) The Use of Environmentally Friendly Raw Materials, 2) Optimization of the Production Process, 3) More Effective Treatment of Pharmaceutical Waste, 4) Increased Distribution and Packaging Efficiency, 5) Stricter Environmental Regulations and Policies, and 6) Public Education and Awareness.
