Abstract

Nomei fish (Harpodon nehereus) are creatures commonly found under layers of mud or fine sand along the coast. They cannot survive in waters with extreme salinity and temperature. When daylight comes and the air temperature rises, the temperature inside the fishpond also tends to rise, while when night falls, the water in the pond becomes colder. Extreme temperature changes, both high and low, can make these fish susceptible to disease and impact their ability to feed and immune system. This research is developmental research as the objective is to test the control of salinity and temperature in Nomei fishponds. To achieve this goal, a system has been developed. The system uses two sensors, namely a conductivity sensor that serves to measure the level of water salinity and sends data to the Arduino device to set the pump based on an average of about 17 ppm. In addition, there is also a temperature sensor that measures the water temperature in the pool and sends data to the Arduino device to adjust the heater and thermoelectric based on the average temperature between 28.5°C and 31.5°C, to maintain stable water quality. The results of this study show that the developed system successfully maintains and controls the salinity and temperature in the Nomei fishpond in accordance with the predetermined set points.

Abstract

This type of research and development aims to create designs and products for robotics training, as well as robotic training design feasibility through expert validation and eval-uation by respondents. Based on a survey of 49 people surveyed, 28.3% said they did not master the microcontroller material, 10.8% said they had learned it very well, and 17.4% said they didn't know. This suggests that a lower level of competence compared to the SKKNI makes robotics training necessary. A self-training model is used for this training. The study uses a branch version of the ADDIE development model, which is carried out in five stages: 1. analysis, 2. design, 3. development, 4. implementation, and 5. evaluation. This media produces starter kits and video learning, The ADDIE method is a research method that runs from the stage of analysis to its evaluation, the analysis researchers must know the gap of competence from students to industry, search for in-tuitive needs, make the need and the gap into the design of training until the last evalua-tion process, this is finally the reason why Addie is used in this research. Students of SMKN 1 Cilegon and students of Professional Education Electrical Engineering Universi-tas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa were used in this research. The analytical techniques used are qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. Evaluation results from starter kits, learning videos, and learning materials are used to determine the level of eligibility for robotic training designs. The results of the starter kit evaluation showed that the media starter kit was in the category "Very Fit" with an average score of 40.7 with a range x>33. In the respondent assessment, it was known that the average rating of the nine-teen respondents was 60.3 with the range x >51, suggesting that the Arduino Uno R3 project-based robotic training design containing a starter kit, video learning modules, and learning materials belonged to the category of "Very Feasible." In other words, this robotics training deserves to be done.

Abstract

Semau Island is one of the islands in the 3T region. Semau Island's electricity system is supplied by 5 diesel engines, Solar Power Plant, and battery storage, with a renewable energy mix that reaches 13%. This is not in accordance with the target renewable energy mix in Indonesia in 2025 which is 23%. The generation operation pattern applied on Semau Island experiences blackouts due to intermittent conditions when the Solar Power Plant fully supplies the load during the day and the battery is unable to back up. So, to mitigate the intermittency nature of the Solar Power Plant while still increasing the penetration of renewable energy, it is necessary to optimize the integrated generation operation pattern between the Solar Power Plant, the diesel engine and the battery storage. In this research, optimization is carried out using HOMER software. The HOMER application uses a derivative-free algorithm in the HOMER Optimizer feature to find the cheapest system. The optimization results in the existing scenario found that the use of 2 diesel engines, namely DG Mdec, DG Adec in base load operations and a combination of PV and batteries can optimize the operating pattern with NPC costs of $9762426, O&M costs of $583589 and LCOE value of $0.1999/kWh.

Abstract

The three-phase induction motor is a prevalent electrical machine utilized across various industrial applications. Notably, the surge current of the induction motor can range from five to seven times the nominal current. This research aims to address this issue by identifying an appropriate three-phase induction motor. One effective method for operating three-phase induction motors is through the implementation of a Variable Speed Drive (VSD). This study develops an induction motor starting system utilizing VSD technology to mitigate the surge current associated with three-phase induction motors. Frequency and duty cycle variations were tested to evaluate their impact. Adjusting the frequency from 25 to 75 Hz at a VSD output voltage of 220 V resulted in a current reduction of 0.74 A. Conversely, modifying the duty cycle from 10% to 100% at a frequency of 50 Hz led to an increase in current of 1.136 A.
