Abstract

This study analyzes the principal's leadership management in enhancing students' emotional intelligence (EQ) at MTs Darunnajah. Emotional intelligence is a crucial aspect of education, contributing to academic achievement, social skills, and character building. In Islamic education, EQ is a foundation for developing morally upright individuals capable of facing academic and social challenges. The researcher employed a qualitative descriptive approach and collected data through in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, students, and parents, supported by observation and documentation of school activities. They analyzed the data using thematic coding, applied source triangulation, and validated the findings through member checking to ensure credibility. The study found that the principal developed students' EQ through four core managerial functions: planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. The principal created systematic planning that provided clear direction for school programs and organized collaborative efforts among teachers to integrate character values into every lesson. The implementation aligned with the school's vision and mission by emphasizing character-based learning and empathy-building activities. The principal also supervised the process to evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary improvements. In addition to leadership management, internal factors such as emotional regulation and self-motivation contributed to students' EQ development. In contrast, external factors included parental support, teacher role modeling, and an inclusive school climate. In conclusion, the principal's effective and collaborative leadership fostered a supportive learning environment that enhanced students' EQ. Sustainable development of emotional intelligence requires continuous synergy among principals, teachers, and parents.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an influence between teacher professionalism and the learning environment on improving the quality of foreign language learning of students in Islamic boarding schools. This study uses a quantitative method with an ex post facto research type. The research data were distributed through questionnaires with 59 students as respondents. The analysis showed that the results of the simultaneous F test with a significance value of 0.002 (p <0.005) and the results of the calculated F 6.793> F table 3.165, then Ho was rejected, and Ha was accepted. The results of the determination coefficient test were 0.195 or 19.5%, which means that the influence of the independent variables of teacher professionalism (X1) and learning environment (X2) on the dependent variable of improving the quality of foreign language learning (Y) was 19.5%, the remaining 80.5% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The study results indicate that teacher professionalism and a well-managed learning environment will improve the quality of foreign language learning for students in Islamic boarding schools. This finding confirms that improving teacher professionalism and creating a conducive learning environment is important to improving students' foreign language learning quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze hidden curriculum strategies in fostering tolerance attitudes at Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School as a replicable model of tolerance education. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, the research was conducted over six months, involving the deputy head of the boarding school, the academic council, the coordinator of mentors, mentors, and students as research subjects. The findings reveal that the hidden curriculum operates through three dimensions: structural via the Student-friendly Islamic boarding school program, interactional through dialogic communication between mentors and students, and cultural via institutional openness and diversification of extracurricular activities. Implementation follows a systematic pattern from the micro level (room) through amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, the meso level (boarding school) with social activities, to the macro level (community) through interfaith dialogue. Students active in extracurricular activities have higher tolerance levels. This study produces the Tri-Dimensional Hidden Curriculum concept, which integrates Jackson's theory with boarding school values, contributing theoretically and practically to the development of tolerant character education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Schools increasingly use Instagram Reels as a promotional medium to build emotional closeness with prospective students. Researchers believe emotional narratives increase enrollment interest, but audience engagement plays a key role in mediating this effect. This study used a quantitative survey method on 141 students at SMKN 1 Ponorogo. The instrument consisted of a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire, tested for validity and reliability using SmartPLS 3.0. Researchers analyzed data using PLS-SEM to examine direct, indirect, and mediating effects. The results showed that emotional narratives significantly influenced audience engagement (β = 0.647; p = 0.000), and audience engagement significantly influenced registration interest (β = 0.594; p = 0.000). The direct effect of emotional narratives on registration interest is positive but insignificant (β = 0.166; p = 0.121). This study found a full mediating effect with a significant indirect influence (β = 0.384; p = 0.000). The R² values of 0.418 for audience engagement and 0.508 for enrollment interest indicate a moderate contribution of the model. These findings confirm that emotional narratives are compelling only when accompanied by strategies encouraging active audience interaction, increasing the likelihood of prospective students enrolling.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of the SAVA system as a digital-based quality management strategy at SDIT Ar-Rahmah, Indonesia, using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The research was conducted through a qualitative descriptive approach, employing interviews, observations, and documentation, with data analysis following Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings reveal that the SAVA system was adopted in response to contextual needs for systematic monitoring of academic and affective services. In terms of input, teacher training, adequate infrastructure, and strong parental involvement provided the foundation for implementation. The process dimension highlighted comprehensive academic strategies including teacher training, supervision, use of digital media, and project-based assessments alongside affective strategies such as daily Islamic practices, character-building programs, and social activities, all integrated into the SAVA system. The product dimension demonstrated measurable impacts: efficiency in report preparation, increased student motivation, and observable improvements in honesty, discipline, and cooperation. Despite these achievements, challenges remain, particularly the absence of a mobile version and the need for automatic notifications. Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature on educational quality management by showing how digital innovation can be systematically combined with values-based education in Islamic schools. Practically, it offers a best-practice model for holistic quality assurance, integrating academic excellence with character development through data-driven strategies.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of financial and non-financial compensation on turnover intention among teachers at State Islamic High Schools (SIHS) in Banjarmasin, addressing the lack of studies within Islamic education contexts. Using quantitative field research design, the study surveyed 136 teachers selected from a population of 206 through simple random sampling. Data was collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire, with analysis conducted through multiple regression. Results indicate that both financial and non-financial compensation have a significant negative effect on turnover intention. Financial compensation showed a t-value of –2.571 (p = 0.011), while non-financial compensation exhibited a stronger effect with a t-value of –7.075. The model's adjusted R² of 0.510 demonstrates moderate explanatory power, indicating that the two compensation variables can explain 51% of turnover intention variance. These findings underscore the importance of implementing equitable and competitive compensation systems, emphasizing monetary rewards and non-monetary benefits, to strengthen teacher retention and institutional stability in Islamic educational settings.

Abstract

This study critically analyzes how moral and civic values are represented and operationalized within the Türkiye Century Maarif Model (TYMM) for primary education through a qualitative document analysis approach. Using Braun and Clarke’s six-phase thematic framework, five official curriculum and policy documents published by the Ministry of National Education between 2023 and 2024 totaling approximately 450 pages were examined. The analysis identified four structural themes: Virtue (Erdem), Value (Değer), Action (Eylem), and Pedagogical Reflection, each illustrating how the TYMM transforms moral education from implicit moral instruction into an explicit, measurable, and pedagogically integrated framework. The findings reveal that the TYMM links personal morality with civic responsibility, embedding values such as honesty, justice, empathy, and cooperation within competency-based learning outcomes. While the model successfully harmonizes local moral heritage with global citizenship principles, it also reveals ideological tensions between universal ethics and national identity. Theoretically, this study contributes to moral and character education literature by offering a curriculum-level perspective on how values are linguistically structured and pedagogically operationalized. Practically, it provides a conceptual reference for educators and policymakers seeking to align moral formation with democratic and global educational goals.

Abstract

This study examines how women’s leadership in South Kalimantan is socially constructed and how Ratu Zalecha functions as a cultural-historical source of leadership legitimacy for contemporary female leaders. Drawing on social construction theory and feminist leadership perspectives, this study explores the ways in which leadership meanings are shaped by competence, institutional recognition, gendered expectations, and local historical memory. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving four female leaders in educational and organizational contexts in South Kalimantan. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal three main themes: leadership is constructed as a relational and contextual practice; female leaders negotiate layered challenges related to gender stereotypes, seniority, emotional expectations, and organizational legitimacy; and Ratu Zalecha serves as a symbolic model of courage, patience, resilience, moral integrity, and transformative influence. This study contributes to social construction and feminist leadership scholarship by showing that women’s leadership legitimacy is produced not only through organizational competence, but also through cultural memory and historically rooted narratives of female agency. The findings suggest that local female historical figures can strengthen women’s leadership identity and provide culturally relevant models for promoting gender-equitable leadership in educational and organizational settings.
