Abstract

Bullying in Islamic boarding schools is still a serious problem that affects the mental well-being and learning comfort of students. Al-Muayyad Islamic Boarding School Surakarta formed the Sarungan Task Force (Santri Anti Bullying and Violence) to prevent and handle bullying. This study aims to analyze the role of the Sarungan Task Force in preventing and handling bullying in the Islamic boarding school environment. The study used a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. The study subjects included the Sarungan Task Force members, senior students, junior students, and Islamic boarding school administrators. Data collection techniques used participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used thematic analysis with triangulation of sources and techniques. The Sarungan Task Force reduced bullying cases from weekly reports to only two monthly reports. This program applies an educational approach through educational sanctions, counseling, mediation, and routine socialization. The most common forms of bullying are verbal and social, with a culture of seniority still visible, although in a milder form. The Sarungan Task Force has proven effective in suppressing bullying cases through a comprehensive approach that combines Islamic values ??and positive discipline. However, continuous reinforcement is still required to overcome the challenges of seniority culture and understand the boundaries between joking and bullying

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work motivation and mentality on the performance of human resources (HR) Education at the Open University Service Center (SALUT), Pontianak. The research method used a quantitative approach with a survey of 71 SALUT employees. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of the study showed that work motivation had a significant negative effect on human resource performance, while mentality had a significant positive influence. The determination coefficient of 63.2% indicates that both variables simultaneously affect employee performance. These findings affirm the importance of developing a growth mentality or mindset in improving the quality of services at SALUT. This study provides recommendations for management to focus on forming a positive mentality to support the improvement of human resource performance

Abstract

This study aims to design, implement, and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of the textbook Hid?yatul Q?ri’ f? Qir?ati ar-Rasmil Utsm?ni lil Mubtadi’, based on the Ummi Method, in enhancing elementary madrasah students’ understanding of the Qur’anic writing structure and recitation system by authentic sanad and rasm. The research contributes to the discourse of foundational Qur’anic education, particularly in the introduction of the Uthm?nic script (rasm ‘Utsm?n?) and dhabt rules as employed in the Madinah Mushaf. The lack of structured learning media that integrates contextual learning approaches with the authentic characteristics of the Mushaf motivated the development of this textbook. This study adopts a research and development (R&D) methodology using the ADDIE model—Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate—systematically applied at MIN 1 Jombang. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, expert validation surveys, and product trials involving 15 fifth-grade students who had previously studied ghor?b and tajw?d using the Ummi Method. The validation results showed an average feasibility score of 86.21%, and field testing indicated significant improvement in the accuracy of recitation and recognition of dhabt symbols. The study’s main contribution lies in pioneering authoritative instructional media on rasm and dhabt for early-level education by combining the strength of qir?’ah transmission (sanad) with a pedagogical design that is visual, repetitive, and auditory. This textbook extends the scope of the Ummi Method toward standardized advanced tajw?d learning. The findings demonstrate that integrating classical methodologies with Mushaf Madinah-based instructional design can establish a strong foundation of recitational accuracy from an early age, making it relevant for adoption by other Qur’anic educational institutions nationally.

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study examines the self-efficacy of underachieving students in workshop classes learning the Quran through the Ummi method at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Washoya Kertorejo Ngoro Jombang. Nine workshop class students who failed to achieve the munaqosyah targets within one year were selected as subjects. Data collection employed in-depth interviews, direct classroom observations, documentation analysis, and Likert scale questionnaires. Self-efficacy was analyzed through five indicators: choice behavior, effort expenditure, persistence, thought patterns, and emotional reactions, derived from Bandura's cognitive, motivational, affective, and selection processes. Results indicate that workshop class students demonstrate low self-efficacy levels across most indicators. Choice behavior reveals poor time management with a preference for non-productive activities. Effort expenditure and persistence show high dependence on extrinsic motivation from teachers rather than intrinsic drive. However, thought patterns exhibit positive tendencies, with students expressing aspirations to practice and teach Quranic knowledge. Emotional reactions predominantly reflect boredom and lack of enthusiasm due to repetitive materials and frequent instructor changes. The Ummi method implementation through the halaqah system with seven systematic stages proves effective in creating conducive learning environments. However, improving self-efficacy requires additional interventions, including intensive mentoring, instructor stability, and supportive learning environments. These findings reinforce Bandura's reciprocal determinism theory and contribute to understanding self-efficacy dynamics in religious education contexts

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of religious moderation among students, describe the implementation of Islamic religious education, and analyze the integration of religious moderation principles within Islamic education at SD Negeri Grogol 2 Diwek Jombang. It is a field study employing a qualitative descriptive approach. Data sources were selected through purposive sampling, followed by snowball sampling to obtain broader and deeper insights. Data collection was conducted through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. The research findings indicate that the application of religious moderation concepts has been effectively implemented, as reflected in their consistent integration into daily practices. This is further supported by extracurricular and social programs that enhance children’s understanding of religious moderation, particularly in how they coexist within multicultural environments. Islamic education is delivered through classroom instruction and is supported by diniyah and mulok learning programs. The principle of religious moderation is embedded in Islamic education through content that emphasizes moderation, as conveyed by teachers. It also includes how students apply religious knowledge in diverse social settings—across differences of race, ethnicity, and religion.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) from the Quranic perspective in the context of schools and madrasahs. The method used is a systematic literature review with content analysis of the Quran, tafsir, and literature related to Islamic education management. The research results show three TQM principles aligned with Quranic values: continuous improvement (islah) based on QS. Ar-Ra'd: 11, total involvement (syura) in QS. Al-Shura: 38, and customer focus as a form of service in QS. Al-Baqarah: 195. TQM implementation includes top management commitment, quality team formation, human resource training, performance measurement, and continuous evaluation. Major challenges include resistance to change, resource limitations, lack of stakeholder support, and organizational culture misalignment. Recommended solutions include intensive socialization, quality culture development, resource optimization, and using Quranic values as implementation foundation. The study concludes that integrating TQM with Quranic principles has potential to improve educational quality while strengthening student character formation. Research contributions include developing educational management models that integrate spiritual values with contemporary management principles for Islamic educational institutions

Abstract

Children in fisherman laborer families in Kurandak Village, Deli Serdang Regency, continue to face serious issues regarding the fulfillment of their fundamental rights, particularly in the areas of education, protection, and care. Normatively, Law Number 35 of 2014 on Child Protection and the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) explicitly regulates the responsibilities of parents in fulfilling these rights comprehensively. This study aims to analyze the implementation of child rights protection in fisherman laborer families from the perspective of the Child Protection Law and Islamic legal norms, identify the inhibiting factors, and examine the relevance of the concept of hadhanah in the context of coastal communities. This research employs a qualitative method with a juridical-sociological approach. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with six respondents, consisting of parents, teenagers, children, and community figures. Secondary data were derived from primary legal sources, including Law Number 35 of 2014 and the Compilation of Islamic Law. The findings reveal that children’s rights—particularly the rights to education, protection from labor exploitation, and access to healthcare—are not fully fulfilled. Major obstacles include economic hardship, early work culture, low parental awareness, and lack of government support. This research implies that protecting children's rights in fisherman communities requires a synergistic approach that combines normative legal frameworks and community-based sociological strategies. Local governments and religious institutions must develop educational and mentoring programs rooted in Islamic legal values, particularly hadith, to enhance parental awareness and child welfare

Abstract

This article discusses the normative foundation of multicultural leadership from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith, as well as strategies for improving the quality of madrasah learning in the context of implementation and challenges in the era of globalization. Multicultural leadership has become a necessity in heterogeneous educational environments, especially in madrasahs, which not only serve as centers for religious education but also play a strategic role in the formation of national character. The Qur'an and Hadith provide basic principles such as justice, consultation, tolerance, and respect for differences as a foundation for building inclusive leadership. In the context of globalization, madrasahs face challenges such as technological disruption, changes in social values, and global educational quality standards. Therefore, the strategy for improving the quality of learning needs to be directed towards strengthening teacher competencies, developing a curriculum that is responsive to the needs of the times, and visionary and adaptive school leadership in the face of change. This article uses a descriptive qualitative approach with literature study as the main method. The results of the study indicate that the integration of multicultural leadership values based on Islamic teachings and contextual quality improvement strategies are key in addressing the challenges of madrasahs in the era of globalization.
