Ra’ah Journal is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing scholarly discourse in the fields of social and religious studies. The journal situates its intellectual contribution within interdisciplinary and contextual frameworks, with particular emphasis on Christian leadership, Pastoral Theology, Missiology, Christian Psychology, and congregational empowerment in contemporary society. The journal promotes rigorous academic inquiry that engages theological reflection with empirical social realities. It welcomes original research articles employing qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method approaches, as well as systematic and critical literature reviews that demonstrate conceptual clarity, methodological robustness, and theoretical contribution. Ra’ah Journal seeks to publish works that: • explore the dynamics of Christian leadership within ecclesial and societal contexts; • develop contextual and constructive approaches in Pastoral Theology and Missiology; • examine psychological dimensions of faith, spirituality, and Christian formation; • analyze models of congregational empowerment and community transformation; • integrate interdisciplinary perspectives in addressing contemporary social and religious issues. By fostering dialogue between theology and the social sciences, Ra’ah Journal aims to contribute to the development of contextual scholarship, strengthen theoretical foundations, and offer practical implications for faith communities and wider society.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to conduct a comparative analysis of the methods used in Christian Religious Education based on biblical texts, particularly from the perspectives of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Bible, as the primary source of Christian faith teachings, contains various narratives and instructions that reflect different pedagogical approaches during each period. In the Old Testament, teaching methods were generally conveyed through laws, commandments, ritual symbols, and narrative stories. The media used included oral instruction, symbolic tools (such as the Ark of the Covenant and the altar), and communal experiences. Meanwhile, in the New Testament, teaching methods emphasized narrative approaches through parables, direct teaching by Jesus Christ, and the role of the Holy Spirit as the teacher within the hearts of believers. The media used in the New Testament included apostolic writings, letters, and the church community as channels for transmitting doctrine. Christian Religious Education teachers, as the front line in imparting moral and ethical values, are also required to creatively package the learning process using various methods and teaching media, ensuring that the message is easily understood by students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out whether there is a relationship between social media and the growth of teenagers' faith. To achieve the results of this research, quantitative methods were used by collecting data through filling out questionnaires and testing the data using SPSS. Meanwhile, the data source came from 45 respondents from teenagers in the GBI Rehobot-Wekiar congregation. Social media is a tool or intermediary used to interact and communicate between someone and other people who provide many contributions or benefits. The growth of faith is a person's spiritual maturity which continues to grow towards perfection in Jesus Christ, has a different life from people who do not believe and becomes stronger in their faith in Jesus Christ. The research results illustrate that there is a significant relationship between variable X (Social Media) and variable Y (Faith Growth) of 0.001 < 0.05.

Abstract

The phenomenon in the field shows a lack of understanding of student career planning. The product in conducting research using the ADDIE model. Researcher used a validation questionnaire tested by the validator to conduct a test and the results of the validation of the material expert with a percentage value of 83.6%, validation of the design expert with a percentage value of 80%, validation of the practitioner expert with a percentage value of 80% so that the career guidance service guide based on the trait and factor career theory was declared very feasible. The results of the experiment can be seen from the pre-test and post-test carried out by students by answering 10 questions. These results show that the post-test value is greater, namely 86% compared to the pre-test value with a value of 67.2%. Thus, the career guidance product based on the trait and factor career theory can be used in the career guidance service process.

Abstract

Body shaming in teenagers causes mental health problems so that teenagers feel they are imperfect, unable to solve their problems and lack self-confidence. The aim of this research was to examine the effect of body shaming on adolescent mental health among students in the pastoral counseling study program at Institut Agama Kristen Negeri Kupang. This research uses quantitative methods. Data collection tools use a body shaming scale and a mental health scale. The respondents in this study were 54 young students in the pastoral counseling study program at Institut Agama Kristen Negeri Kupang. The data analysis technique uses simple linear regression analysis. The results of this study prove that there is a positive and significant influence of body shaming on the mental health of adolescent students with an F value = 26.049 and a p value = 0.000 at R Square = 0.216. The effective contribution of the body shaming variable to mental health is 33.4%, meaning that body shaming can affect the mental health of teenagers in students of the pastoral counseling study program at Institut Agama Kristen Negeri Kupang.

Abstract

The church has a strategic role in empowering the congregation's economy, but often faces ongoing challenges. This study analyzes the GMIT Jemaat Imanuel SoE Economic Empowerment Program for the 2016-2021 period using a qualitative method with a case study approach and SWOT analysis. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews and document analysis with key informants from the Congregation's Economic Empowerment Service Assistance Unit. This study reveals two main programs, namely Micro Business Unit Development and Pig Fattening with revolving funds. Critical findings show a significant decrease in the rate of return on capital in both the micro business development program from 100% to 16.67%, and the pig fattening program from 62.5% to 41.76%. This study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive church economic empowerment model with a continuous monitoring mechanism and measurable risk mitigation strategies.

Abstract

Salah satu problema terbesar dunia adalah ketiadaan ayah atau fatherless dalam kehidupan keluarga terkhusus anak-anak dalam berbagai aspek termasuk aspek kerohanian. Ada berbagai faktor penyebab kondisi anak tumbuh tanpa ayah seperti kematian, perceraian, kelahiran tanpa pernikahan, kesibukan orangtua dalam bekerja, kepribadian ayah yang egois. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keteladanan iman ayah kristen terhadap kedewasaan spiritual remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan tujuan asosiatif yang menjelaskan hubungan kausal/pengaruh variabel role model ayah (X) terhadap Kedewasaan spiritual remaja (Y). Hipotesa yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh antara role model ayah terhadap kedewasaan rohani remaja di kota Soe. Jumlah sampel dipilih secara simple random pada populasi remaja kota Soe dan berhasil menjaring sebanyak 82 remaja sebagai reponden. Instrumen untuk variabel role model ayah merujuk pada angket Christian Faith Practices Scale (CFPS). Sedangkan kedewasaan spiritual remaja mengadaptasi Indeks Kematangan Spiritual (SMI) yang berasal dari teologi Kristen evangelis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara role model ayah terhadap kedewasaan rohani remaja (H1 diterima). Adapun arah hubungan kedua variabel adalah positif yang berarti semakin baik role model ayah maka kedewasaan rohani remaja semakin baik pula. Meskipun demikian, kuatnya pengaruh role model ayah kepada kedewasaan rohani remaja di kota Soe sebesar 16% yang berarti berada pada kategori sangat rendah.

Abstract

Artikel ini meneliti transformasi misiologi di era 5.0, menggunakan metode studi pustaka untuk menganalisis dampak kemajuan teknologi dan perubahan sosial terhadap penginjilan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlunya strategi penginjilan yang inovatif dan relevan dengan budaya digital, serta pentingnya integritas rohani individu dalam menjalankan misi. Tantangan seperti materialisme, cyberbullying, dan akses mudah ke konten dewasa dibahas sebagai hambatan, menekankan perlunya pendekatan kontekstual dan komprehensif dalam memberitakan Injil di era ini.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas tentang penggunaan ChatgPT, sebuah alat kecerdasan buatan (AI), terhadap integritas akademik dan kesejahteraan pribadi mahasiswa. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif pendekatan library research, di mana metode ini menganalisis berbagai literatur terkat untuk mengidentifikasi manfaat dan risiko penggunaan ChatGPT dalam konteks akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan AI termasuk ChatGPT dapat mendukung mahasiswa dalam memahami materi yang sulit, menyelesaikan tugas secara efisien dan mengurangi stres akademik. Akan tetapi, penggunaan yang tidak bertanggung jawab dapat mengancam integritas akademik melalui plagiarisme serta melemahkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan analitis. Selain itu, ketergantungan terhadap teknologi ini dapat mempengaruhi rasa percaya diri dan interaksi sosial mahasiswa, yang dapat berdampak negatif pada kesejahteraan mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pendekatan yang etis dan bertanggung jawab dalam penggunaan ChatGPT, salah satunya adalah memberikan edukasi mengenai batasan teknologi dan menekankan pentingnya keterampilan akademik yang berbasis integritas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh teknik brainstorming dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa Psikologi Kristen di Institut Agama Kristen Negeri (IAKN) Kupang. Berpikir kritis sangat penting untuk pemecahan masalah dan pengambilan keputusan, khususnya dalam konteks akademik. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimental dengan model one-group pretest-posttest, melibatkan 26 mahasiswa semester pertama sebagai partisipan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket dan observasi sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa, yang ditunjukkan oleh skor posttest yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan skor pretest. Temuan ini menyoroti potensi teknik brainstorming sebagai metode praktis untuk meningkatkan berpikir kritis dan mendorong penerapan yang lebih luas di lingkungan akademik.
