SIGMA: Jurnal Sinergi Mengabdi is a Community Service Journal that publishes the results of community service activities carried out by lecturers and education observers. This journal contains Community Service activities with various potentials, obstacles, challenges and problems that exist in the community environment. Community service activities are organized into activities that aim to provide benefits and improve community welfare. SIGMA is a Community Service Journal that publishes the results of community service activities carried out by lecturers and education observers. SIGMA Journal is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by the Institute for Research and Community Service IAI Hidayatullah Batam. This journal contains Community Service activities with various potentials, obstacles, challenges and problems that exist in the community environment. Community service activities are organized into activities that aim to provide benefits and improve community welfare. The SIGMA Journal specifically focuses on core issues in developing scientific knowledge in the field of community service, with a scope that includes: 1. Local Food Security, Training, Marketing, Appropriate Technology, Design; 2. Community Empowerment, Social Access; 3. Student Community Service; 4. Education for Sustainable Development This journal publishes research-based community service results such as Participatory Action Research (PAR), Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), Community-Based Research (CBR), Service Learning, Community Development, Research and Development (R&D), and other methodologies.

Abstract

Leadership soft skills are essential competencies that university students need to prepare for organizational and professional challenges. However, leadership competencies should be supported by managerial skills, particularly in managing educational facilities and infrastructure, which contribute to organizational effectiveness. This community service program aimed to describe the implementation of a leadership soft skills workshop through facilities and infrastructure management for students of the Islamic Education Management (MPI) Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri Purwokerto. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The workshop was conducted through lectures, interactive discussions, observation, documentation, and participant feedback, while the collected data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that the workshop was successfully implemented and received positive responses from participants. Students actively participated in the activities, demonstrated a better understanding of leadership and facilities management concepts, and were able to identify problems and propose alternative solutions related to educational facilities management. The workshop also strengthened students' understanding of managerial competencies as an integral part of leadership soft skills. Therefore, this workshop can serve as an effective alternative for strengthening leadership soft skills among university students.

Abstract

Religious guidance in correctional institutions has a strategic role in preparing inmates for social reintegration after release. However, many inmates still lack adequate understanding of fiqh and aqidah, necessitating a structured and sustainable guidance program. This community service activity aims to enhance understanding of fiqh and aqidah, strengthen spiritual and moral awareness, and develop positive mindsets among inmates as a preparation for social reintegration. The method employed is Participatory Action Research (PAR) with a qualitative descriptive approach, implemented through halaqoh sessions and classical studies on a scheduled basis. The material provided covers the study of fiqh ibadah (thaharah, prayer, fasting) and aqidah (identity in belief, aqidah 50, and moral values). Data collection techniques used unstructured interviews and documentation. The results indicate an improvement in inmates' understanding of fiqh and aqidah, reflected in changes in their perspective on worship and awareness of aqidah as the foundation of behavior. Furthermore, inmates began to demonstrate discipline in worship, mutual respect, and internal motivation to become better individuals. This activity also provides strategic benefits in preventing recidivism and preparing inmates mentally and spiritually to return to society. Thus, religious guidance based on the study of fiqh and aqidah not only serves as a means of spiritual rehabilitation but also as an essential foundation for the successful social reintegration of inmates at Class I Correctional Facility Kesambi Cirebon.

Abstract

Science literacy is one of the important competencies that must be possessed by the academic community in dealing with the development of science, technology, and the dynamics of global issues. However, there is still a gap in access to the latest scientific references in various university libraries in Indonesia. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to improve science literacy through the distribution of ISU GLOBAL: Multidisciplinary Approaches in the Transformation and Development of Global Issues to a number of university libraries in Indonesia. The activity was carried out through a collaboration between the Defense University of the Republic of Indonesia, the Batam Tourism Polytechnic, and the Magelang Military Academy as a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The implementation method includes identifying library needs, coordinating with recipient universities, distributing books, handing over collections, and evaluating the use of books as learning references. The results of the activity show that the addition of reference collections on global issues enriches the learning resources of students and lecturers, supports the development of science literacy, and strengthens the reading culture in the university environment. This activity also shows that collaboration between higher education institutions is able to expand the impact of community service in supporting the improvement of the quality of higher education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Book Writing and HKI (Intellectual Property Rights) show a close relationship between the two, Books are intellectual works protected by law. Books that have been written and realized in tangible form, in the form of digital or printed manuscripts, and will obtain copyright protection according to applicable regulations. Copyright is the exclusive right of the author to publish and distribute books, and grant permission to use them to other parties. The community service carried out was in the form of Technical Guidance (Bimtek) to lecturers and the campus community of the Hidayatullah Islamic Institute of Batam. This Bimtek aims to increase knowledge and help lecturers to be productive in writing books, both textbooks and reference books. The output of the community service in the form of Bimtek is that lecturers produce works in the form of books every semester and these books will be used as lecture materials and references for students in lectures. The method used is the Participation Action Research (PAR) method. The results of the Technical Guidance show that assistance from the beginning of the book in the form of a cover, book framework in the form of a table of contents and others, book preparation and Copyright is carried out with Focus Group Discussions (FGD) or group discussions and focuses on the field of science or scientific group of lecturers and selecting topics developed from the RPS in the courses taught by lecturers and resource persons guide lecturers in writing books and socializing HKI.
