Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing number of Generation Z employees who tend to leave their organizations when their workplace expectations are not fulfilled. This phenomenon occurs globally and in Indonesia, where Generation Z now represents more than a quarter of the population and plays an increasingly important role in the labor market. However, many of them report dissatisfaction due to unmet expectations, which leads to higher job-search behavior. This study examines how job satisfaction mediates the effects of job characteristics, perceived organizational support, and person–environment fit on job search behavior among Generation Z employees in startup companies. This study used an explanatory quantitative approach. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to all Generation Z employees in five startup companies: PT Digdaya Olah Teknologi Indonesia, Skybox Digital Imagery, Codespace Indonesia, Letsplay Indonesia, and CMLABS Indonesia Digital, with a total sample size of 189 respondents. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that Job characteristics, perceived organizational support, and person–environment fit each had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction significantly and negatively affected job-search behavior. Additionally, job satisfaction mediated the relationship between the three independent variables and job search behavior. The model explains R² = 0.594 of job search behavior variance, and all seven hypotheses are supported. Improving job characteristics, strengthening organizational support, and enhancing person–environment fit significantly increase job satisfaction, which, in turn, reduces job search behavior among Generation Z employees in startup companies.

Abstract

Labor pain is a physiological condition commonly experienced during the first stage of labor due to uterine contractions and cervical dilation. This condition may increase sympathetic nervous system activity and affect maternal comfort. Effective pain management is needed, and breathing relaxation is a simple non-pharmacological technique that may help reduce pain intensity through controlled breathing and improved oxygenation. This study aimed to analyze the effect of breathing relaxation on pain intensity during the first stage of labor using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design without a control group. The sample was selected using purposive sampling with inclusion criteria of women aged 20–39 years in the first stage of labor. Pain intensity was measured using a Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a significant reduction in pain intensity after the intervention (p = 0.001), indicating that breathing relaxation has a significant effect on reducing labor pain intensity.

Abstract

Parental burnout among mothers of preschool-aged children is a growing public health concern in Indonesia, exacerbated by entrenched gender norms and limited access to emotionally supportive family environments. This study examines how family communication patterns, specifically through the dimensions of conversation orientation and conformity orientation, influence the psychological resilience of first-time mothers experiencing moderate parental burnout. A descriptive qualitative design was employed within an interpretive paradigm. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation involving three primary informants (mothers, n=3), three supporting informants (family members, n=3), and one expert informant (clinical psychologist, n=1) in Bandung, Indonesia. The Family Communication Patterns Theory (FCPT) by Koerner and Fitzpatrick (2002) served as the analytical framework. Data were analysed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model and validated through source triangulation and member checking. Open conversation orientation serves as the primary protective factor by providing space for emotional validation and preventing the suppression of feelings. Conversely, high conformity orientation characterised by rigid parenting standards tends to generate guilt and impede mothers’ access to emotional support. Non-judgmental, open family communication is the core protective mechanism against the escalation of moderate parental burnout. Strengthening spousal communication quality, increasing flexibility in family norms, and fostering emotionally validating family environments are recommended as strategic priorities for practitioners, community health workers, and policymakers supporting maternal mental health in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of contemporary spirituality within a digital ecosystem shaped by consumer logic, using SOUL (Spirit of Universal Life) as the case study. Through the original analytical framework The Maker–The Market–The Meaning (3M), the research addresses how SOUL leverages social media to package and market spiritual learning; how commodification of meaning operates within SOUL's marketing ecosystem; and what implications these practices hold for audiences' spiritual subjectivity. A critical-interpretive qualitative approach combining digital ethnography (netnography) and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) was employed, with a critical paradigm as the epistemological meta-framework to manage researcher bias given the author's insider position as SOUL's CMO. Three key findings emerge: (1) The Maker builds digital spiritual authority through figural performativity, translation of teachings into social media formats, and self-technology tools (SOUL Meter and SOUL Care); (2) The Market reveals community evolution into spiritual prosumers unified by an "energy barter" logic that provides cosmological legitimacy for paid exchanges; (3) The Meaning discloses new subjectivities in which participants understand themselves as souls growing and returning home, experiencing tangible transformation across relational, economic, and religious dimensions. The study proposes the concept of managed spirituality — spirituality packaged and delivered through curricula and self-technologies — while critically exposing its inherent ambivalence: emancipatory yet potentially constraining. These findings demonstrate that commodification of meaning need not be contradictory to authentic spirituality within Indonesia's digital spiritual economy.

Abstract

Health facilities and nuclear medicine physicians are still limited; it is necessary to improve and develop strategies to meet the needs of these facilities and physicians. This study aims to investigate the current state of health facilities and nuclear medicine physicians in three neighboring countries — Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore — and to analyze how these countries' future projections will meet the needs of Their Facilities and Nuclear Medicine physicians. This study employs a literature review approach to identify data needs. All data collected are analyzed to obtain the expected results. Based on the data collected, it was found that Health Facilities in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore have different standards for the ratio of facilities and medical personnel, and none of the countries has fully achieved their expectations. In Malaysia, there are 79 Nuclear Medical Physicians, Indonesia has 58, and Singapore has 36. The three countries have different projections for the development of nuclear medicine. Indonesia focuses on reducing the number of Nuclear medical physicians, Malaysia focuses on improving services and equity, and Singapore focuses on developing Nuclear medicine technology.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum as a national education policy represents a significant phase in Indonesia’s educational reform agenda. This policy shift requires teachers to adapt not only pedagogically but also institutionally, as they function as key policy actors at the school level. This study aims to analyze how Islamic Education teachers in primary schools adapt to the transition from the 2013 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum and to examine the policy implications arising from this adaptation process. Employing a qualitative approach with an education policy study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with PAI teachers and document analysis of relevant curriculum policy texts. The data were analyzed thematically using frameworks of educational change and policy implementation. The findings indicate that while PAI teachers generally demonstrate normative acceptance of the Merdeka Curriculum’s objectives, their practical adaptation remains constrained by limited pedagogical competence in differentiated instruction, assessment literacy, and institutional support. This study concludes that the success of curriculum policy implementation depends not only on regulatory design but also on sustained systemic support that strengthens teachers’ adaptive capacity. The findings contribute to policy-oriented discussions on curriculum reform and highlight the importance of contextual professional development for teachers.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital activism in Indonesia has positioned social media as a central space for political expression and protest mobilization. However, limited research has examined the micro-pragmatic mechanisms underlying protest discourse, particularly the use of politeness and impoliteness strategies within collectivist sociocultural contexts. This study investigates how politeness and impoliteness are strategically employed in protest hashtags during the Indonesian student protests of August 2025. Specifically, it aims to identify the pragmatic strategies used in protest hashtags, explain their sociocultural motivations, and examine their role in constructing digital solidarity and resistance. Using a qualitative discourse-pragmatic approach, the study analyses 1,000 anonymized public posts collected from X through an integrated framework combining politeness theory, impoliteness theory, relational work, and hashtag discourse analysis. The findings indicate that positive politeness strategies constitute the largest proportion of the dataset and play an important role in fostering collective identity and moral alignment. Negative politeness enables respectful yet firm dissent consistent with Indonesian values of social harmony (rukun), while impoliteness strategies, including direct imperatives and sarcasm, function as forms of morally grounded resistance toward institutional authority. Importantly, politeness and impoliteness operate cooperatively rather than oppositely in constructing a discourse of digital resistance characterized by solidarity, urgency, and moral legitimacy. These findings contribute to digital pragmatics by demonstrating how culturally grounded communication norms are reconfigured in online protest discourse.

Abstract

Multimodal learning activities using short-form video platforms such as TikTok are increasingly used in writing instruction. However, it remains unclear whether these activities meaningfully support students’ procedural writing development. This study examines how TikTok-based procedural writing activities relate to students’ attitudes toward writing and their understanding of procedural-text organization. A quantitative survey was conducted involving 102 students who participated in TikTok-based writing projects, and the data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings show that information and research literacy skills and supportive learning conditions contribute positively to students’ attitudes toward writing, while perceived barriers such as limited experience and time pressure negatively influence these attitudes. Conventional collaborative writing does not show a significant relationship with writing attitudes. The study also finds that students with more positive attitudes toward writing tend to demonstrate stronger understanding of procedural-text structure and sequencing. These findings indicate that the effectiveness of TikTok-based writing activities depends not only on the use of digital media but also on how the learning environment supports students during the writing process. The study highlights the importance of combining multimodal creativity with sufficient instructional guidance in procedural writing instruction.
