One of alternatives to extend planted area for creat (Andrographis paniculata Ness) is the cultivation in estate areas. The problems to cultivate the plant in this area are shading and water availability. The objective of the research is to describe and evaluate the cultivation of creat between annual tree crops in the estate area. Lands were cleared and plowed to form plots with 20 m x 1.5 m ridge. The seedlings of creat were transplanted in beded soil at a distance of 40 cm and 40 cm. Plants were harvested before inflorencence. The yiled was 1.650 kg herb and It gave Rp 6182 net income per plot The shading caused by the trees around the plants decreased the content of andrographolide until 50 %.

Despite the fact that technological innovation and its role in the economic growth of developed countries have been much studied, but there is only little knowledge about the factors that determine technological innovation in Indonesia. In an effort to fill this gap, this study is conducted with the aim to analyze the factors that affect innovation in the food industry inIndonesia. Analytical methods used to achieve the research objective are regression analysis with 2 SLS (Two Stage Least) method and qualitative analysis. The results showed that there sixteen factors that influence technological innovation in the Indonesian food industry. By usingfurther 2 SLS method, empirical observation, in-depth interviews and discussions with experts, it is obtained the strong of technological innovation determinants to enhance technological innovation in the food industry. The determinants include the style of leadership, human capital,learning orientation, the company's ability to provide incentives / rewards, company relationships with outsiders and corporate location.

Di Indonesia terdapat bermacam-macam sumber bahan baku biodiesel, tetapi hanya beberapa yang punya potensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai bahan baku biodiesel karena alasan ekonomi, seperti minyak kelapa, minyak sawit dan minyak jarak. Saat ini, minyak sawit telah menjadi sumber utama biodiesel karena kapasitas produksinya telahmencapai 19 juta ton per tahun, dan hanya kurang lebih 25% untuk konsumsi dalam negeri. Kelebihan kapasitas produksi telah merangsang pengembangan pabrik biodiesel dengan bahan baku minyak sawit. Pabrik biodiesel telah mencapai kapasitas terpasang sekitar 3,3 juta ton per tahun pada tahun 2010. Pada beberapa test, biodiesel dengan bahan baku minyak sawit menunjukan dapat menggerakan mesin diesel sebaikmenggunakan minyak diesel. Sejak minyak sawit adalah minyak untuk makanan (edible oil) dan memanfaatkan tanah-tanah atau lahan-lahan subur maka hal ini akan menjadi masalah dikemudian hari. Oleh karena itu jarak pagar yang dikenal sebagai tanaman subtropic mungkin satu-satunya sumber minyak yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahanbaku biodiesel dimasa depan. Menurut beberapa peneliti, jarak pagar (Jatropha curcas L.) mempunyai beberapa keuntungan, seperti bukan untuk makanan (non edible), mengandung rendemen minyak biji yang tinggi (30-50%) dan produksi minyak per hektar cukup tinggi, dan tumbuh di marginal land, dll. Beberapa proyek memanfaatkan jarakpagar telah dikembangkan di Indonesia, salah satunya adalah Desa Mandiri Energi (energy sufficient villages).

The research objective was to determine the preferences panel of three clones of potato seed tubers G1 namely A5, PAS3063, PAS3064 and Granola and Atlantic cultivars as comparison varieties, as well as to determine levels of starch, sugar and water content. Based on the results of Kruskal Wallis test for flavor and texture parameters on the tuberswere not significantly different cooking shows, while the aroma and color were significantly different between clones / cultivars. Panelists on the test results for the parameters of boiled tubers taste, texture, aroma and color looks significantly different between clones / cultivars. Analysis of variance was significantly different levels of tuber starch content, sugar contentand moisture content. Gerombol analysis based on the preferences panel of taste, texture, aroma and color in fried and boiled potatoes indicate that the resemblance is closer to A5 Granola with similarity percentage of more than 54.76% and Atlantic closer resemblance to the PAS3063 and PAS3064 with similarity percentage of more than 77.38% .

The study was carried out to observe the influence of semen collectiontime toward the copulation behavior and the movement of massspermatozoa of garut rams. The semen of seven Garut rams wascollected twice a week. It indicates that the difference of semen collectiontime causes the difference of air temperature. The semen collected at6:00 am showed better mass sperm movement than at 12:00. Thesemen collected at 06:00 am; 9:00 am and 12.00 am did not show anyeffect toward the preejaculation copulation behavior. Otherwise thesemen collected at 06:00 am delivered longer intromisi period than at12:00 am.

Maize hybridization system would help Indonesia to become a maize exporter. But the development of maize hybrids in Indonesia is seemed too slow, this impacting in national maize production, which was only 13 million ton per year in 2003. In 2009, the maize hybrid has been planted in about 54% of maize yields. Fertilizing maize is on the most essential and critical parts about growing maize. The objective of the study was to obtain the maximum dosage of composed fertilizer for the highest productivity among four hybrids maize variety in dependingsoil type. The result showed that the prospecting hybrid variety of BI-1 has a maximum production yield of 7.7 ton/ha at the level of fertilizer 1,200 kg/ha and it was only 6.3 ton per ha at zero level fertilizer. Amount of 7.4 ton/ha was achieved by BI-3 maize hybrid at the level of 1,200 kg/ha fertilizer, where those only 5.8 ton/ha at the zero level of fertilizer. The highest productivity was archived by BI-4 where it was 7.1 ton/ha at zero level fertilizer and the highest production yield of 9.2 ton/ha at 900kg/ha of fertilizer, but it was decrease at the level of 1,200 kg/ha fertilizer. Maize variety of DK979 achieved highest productivity of 8.6 ton/ha at 1,200 kg/ha fertilizer and 5.8 ton/ha at zero level fertilizer.

Penghambat alfa amilase adalah salah satu komponen dalam suplemen makanan yang telah lama digunakan untuk terapi kegemukan karena penghambat amilase mempengaruhi metabolisme karbohidrat dalam sistem pencernaan. Sejumlah peneliti melaporkan terdapat dua grup penghambat amilase, yaitu protein dan non protein. Penghambat protein dilaporkan terdapat dalam kelompok kacang-kacangan dan biji-bijian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengisolasi penghambat protein yang terdapat dalam kacang hijau dan kedele. Kacang hijau dan kedele merupakan kacang-kacangan yang penting dalam makanan popular di Indonesia. Penghambat protein diendapkan dengan konsentrasi bertingkat garam ammonium sulfat [(NH)4SO4] dari 30-70%. Penghambat protein diuji terhadap amilase saliva manusia (HSA) danamilase pankreas babi (PPA), serta kestabilannya terhadap pemanasan pada 100oC selama 30 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua endapan jenuh dari semua konsentrasi amonium sulfat yang diuji menghambat PPA, tetapi tidak semua endapan jenuh tersebut dapatmenghambat HSA. Hanya semua endapan jenuh (NH)4SO4 dari kacang hijau yang dapat menghambat HSA, dan penghambatan tertinggi terhadap HSA adalah endapan jenuh (NH)4SO4 50%. Endapan jenuh (NH)4SO4 40 % dari kedele putih dan endapan jenuh (NH)4SO4 60% dari kedele hitam dengan masing-masing penghambatan 98.67; 26.86 and27.63%. Endapan jenuh (NH)4SO4 60-70% dari kacang hijau, 50% dari kedele putih dan 50% dari kedele hitam menghambat PPA 100%. Pemanasan penghambat pada 100oC selama 30 menit hampir tidak mempengaruhi penghambatannya terhadap PPA. Profil protein juga diamati menggunakan analisis SDS/PAGE.

Somatic embryogenesis is a process whereby somatic cells have differentiation in somatic embryos and it’s formed from embryonic cells due to the high polarization of uncontrolled cell division. The aim of this research is to produced shoots of rodent tuber via somatic embryos.Induction of somatic embryos from explants in MS media with N (2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-Nphenyl urea (CPPU) and continuous subculture in MS media without plant growth regulator for 1 month. Plantlet regeneration growth in liquid MS media with BAP and IBA fortified with 40 gr/l of sucrose in the dark. The result showed that somatic embryonic appears in media induction after 2 week and plantlet regeneration in 4 week. All plantlet growed from embryosomatic can survive 100% in field with normal shoot.

Indonesia is rich with diversity / germplasm aromatic plants that produce essential oils. Essential oils also called etheric oils, or oil fly. There is a non-oil export commodities are needed in various industries. The many types of Essential Oils require handling a priority scale. The method used is Analysis Hierarchy Process (AHP) by utilizing the expert judgement. The analysis using criteria Feasibility for SMEs, New Commodities and the New Territories, and sub-criteria Speed of Capital Returns, Market Prospects, Easy Access Resource, Value Added, and Enviroment. Based on criteria and sub-criteria results that essential oils of Jasmine (Melati), Masoyi (Masoyi) and Cubeb (Kemukus) must be prioritized to development.

The objective of this research was to study digestibility of kumpai minyak (Hymenachne amplexicaulis) amoniation by in vitro techniques. Materials used in this study were : kumpai oil grass; poultry manure; urea; cattle rumen fluid; Mc buffer solution Dougall; NaOH or H3PO4 and saturated HgCl2. This research was held in two stage, the first was amoniation of kumpai minyak and second was in vitro analysis, both experiment was held at laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Animal, Agriculture Faculty at Sriwijaya University. The research used completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications which were: A0 (kumpai oil grass without urea), A1 (kumpai oil grass with urea 2%), A2 (kumpai oil grass with urea 4%) and A3 (kumpai oil grass with urea 6%). Parameters measuredwere dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility and gas production.. The result showed that the treatment were significantly difference (P<0.01) on organic matter digestibility, but non sinificantly differences (P>0.01) on dry matter digestibility and gas production.
