Abstract

General Background: Education quality is closely linked to how financial resources are managed, particularly in public schools. Specific Background: BOS (School Operational Assistance) funds are crucial in Indonesia's educational framework, yet their effectiveness in improving teacher performance remains underexplored at the micro level. Knowledge Gap: Few studies have examined how structured fund management influences teacher performance through school-based planning and implementation. Aims: This study aims to analyze the management of BOS funds at SMP N 62 Muaro Jambi, focusing on four administrative aspects—planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation—and how these influence teacher performance. Results: Using a qualitative descriptive approach with inductive analysis, findings indicate that BOS fund management follows a systematic process led by a designated team. Effective allocation supports teacher development through improved facilities and professional training. Novelty: The study highlights the role of strategic planning and stakeholder coordination in maximizing limited resources while addressing challenges like delayed disbursement. Implications: Strengthening internal coordination and improving fund disbursement mechanisms can significantly enhance educational outcomes by empowering teachers, suggesting that governance reforms at the school level may yield broader systemic benefits. Highlights: Structured Management: BOS funds are managed through planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. Performance Impact: Effective fund use enhances teacher performance via training and facilities. Challenge & Solution: Delays and limited funds are tackled through improved coordination and planning. Keywords: BOS Fund Management, Teacher Performance, Educational Quality, School Governance, Resource Allocation

Abstract

General background: The alignment of vocational education with industry needs is vital for producing competent graduates. Specific background: In Indonesia, the Link and Match program serves as a national strategy to bridge the gap between Vocational High Schools (SMKs) and business and industry (DUDI). Knowledge gap: However, limited empirical evidence exists on how this program is operationalized in the context of creative industries, particularly film production. Aim: This study explores the implementation of the Link and Match program at SMK Muhammadiyah 5 Kepanjen, focusing on the film expertise concentration. Results: Through qualitative analysis involving interviews, observations, and document reviews, the study finds that collaboration with three industry partners—PT Mixpro Sinema Utama, Equator Cinema, and Paradise Picture—has been realized via curriculum alignment, project-based learning, guest teaching, internships, certification, and technology adaptation. Novelty: The study highlights the comprehensive adoption of the 8+I concept, emphasizing the integration of real industry practices into school-based learning, yet reveals a lack of scholarship support post-graduation. Implications: These findings inform policymakers and educators about effective practices and critical gaps in vocational-industry synergy, especially in creative sectors. Highlights: Strengthens vocational relevance through real industry collaboration. Implements the 8+I concept across film-focused education. Reveals scholarship support as a missing program element. Keywords: Link and Match, Vocational Education, Industry Partnership, Film Production

Abstract

General Background: Character education has become a crucial agenda in Indonesian education policy, aiming to develop a generation embodying the noble values of Pancasila. Specific Background: Despite this emphasis, current classroom practices often prioritize cognitive knowledge over character development. Knowledge Gap: There is limited empirical evidence on the effectiveness of contextual learning models, particularly when mediated through concrete teaching tools, in shaping student character at the elementary level. Aims: This study investigates the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach using media to foster character development among 5th-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 18 Plus Surabaya. Results: Findings demonstrate that media-based CTL effectively cultivates critical thinking, independence, cooperation, and creativity. Data revealed that over 50% of students reached the “Very Developed” level in character indicators aligned with the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. Novelty: This study introduces a contextual, media-supported character education model grounded in real-life student experiences, integrated with formative assessment and teacher facilitation strategies. Implications: The results suggest that sustained implementation of CTL can bridge academic learning and value transfer, supporting national character-building goals in primary education.Highlight : Integration with Real Life – CTL connects academic content to students' daily experiences, enhancing character development. Character Formation Focus – CTL strengthens traits like critical thinking, creativity, and cooperation through contextual strategies. Abstract

General Background: The food and beverage industry faces intense competition, prompting businesses to apply strategic marketing to reach and retain consumers. Specific Background: A café business in Surabaya is used as a case to assess how marketing strategies affect customer behavior in a highly competitive market. Knowledge Gap: There is limited empirical analysis on how the individual components of the Marketing Mix 7P influence both purchasing and repurchasing decisions within local food service settings. Aims: This study aims to examine the role of the Marketing Mix 7P (Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, and Physical Evidence) in shaping purchasing and repurchasing decisions using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach with AMOS software. Results: Data collected from 120 respondents through an online questionnaire show that Product and Place significantly influence purchasing decisions. People, Process, and Physical Evidence do not show significant effects, while Price and Promotion were removed due to multicollinearity. Furthermore, purchasing decisions are found to significantly affect repurchase behavior, while none of the marketing mix variables directly influence repeat purchases. Novelty: This study presents empirical findings from a local café context using SEM to uncover which marketing factors matter most in influencing consumer behavior. Implications: Results suggest focusing marketing strategies on product quality and location to encourage initial purchase, which in turn supports repeat purchase behavior. Highlights: Product and Place significantly affect purchasing decisions. Purchasing decisions drive repeat purchase behavior. Price and Promotion excluded due to multicollinearity issues. Keywords: Marketing Mix, SEM, Consumer Decision, Repurchase, Food Service

Abstract

General Background: Bullying is a repetitive aggressive behavior that generates serious physical, emotional, and psychological consequences among vulnerable children. Specific Background: Children living in orphanages are particularly at risk due to limited supervision and imbalanced caregiver–child ratios, which may contribute to insufficient understanding of bullying prevention and reduced self-confidence. Knowledge Gap: Despite growing concern regarding bullying in institutional care settings, structured psychoeducational programs targeting self-confidence and bullying prevention knowledge among orphanage children remain limited. Aims: This study aimed to examine changes in bullying-related knowledge after a psychoeducational intervention focused on strengthening self-confidence among orphanage children. Results: Using a quantitative pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design involving 38 participants, statistical analysis with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < .001), with mean scores increasing from 9.842 to 11.474. Novelty: This study provides empirical evidence of structured psychoeducation delivered within an orphanage setting using a controlled pre–post assessment framework. Implications: The findings support the integration of psychoeducational programs as an initial preventive strategy to foster awareness, strengthen self-confidence, and promote safer social environments in institutional childcare contexts. Keywords: Psychoeducation, Bullying Prevention, Self Confidence, Orphanage Children, Pre-Experimental Design Key Findings Highlights: Significant score difference observed between pretest and posttest assessment Statistical testing confirmed non-normal distribution requiring Wilcoxon analysis Knowledge gains demonstrated measurable change after structured intervention

Abstract

General Background: Street vendor governance constitutes a central issue in urban public order management and local regulatory enforcement in developing regions. Specific Background: In Sidoarjo Regency, the Municipal Police Unit (Satpol PP) is mandated to maintain public order while addressing the presence of vendors operating in restricted public spaces under regional regulations. Knowledge Gap: Despite frequent regulatory actions, limited empirical descriptions exist regarding the procedural stages, operational strategies, and ethical considerations applied during enforcement at the local level. Aims: This study seeks to examine the strategies, procedures, and approaches implemented by Satpol PP in controlling street vendors in prohibited areas. Results: Findings reveal that enforcement is conducted progressively through socialization, warnings, routine patrols, public reporting mechanisms, confiscation procedures, and inter-agency coordination, accompanied by preventive education and relocation efforts to designated zones. A persuasive and humanistic approach is consistently prioritized to balance regulatory compliance with vendor rights and to minimize social conflict. Novelty: The study provides a detailed qualitative account of staged enforcement practices that integrate legal authority, administrative procedures, and social considerations within a single local governance framework. Implications: These insights offer practical guidance for policymakers seeking to manage informal economic activities while preserving public order, social stability, and equitable treatment of vulnerable urban workers. Highlights: Regulatory actions follow sequential stages from outreach to confiscation when violations persist. Continuous monitoring relies on patrol activities, community reports, and surveillance systems. Preventive measures include education programs and allocation of designated trading locations.
