Abstract

Background: Domestic tourism is increasingly recognized as a vital contributor to national economies, particularly in developing countries like Uzbekistan. Specific Background: Despite policy initiatives promoting internal travel, limited data exists on how affordable travel options shape domestic tourism behavior. Knowledge Gap: Little is known about the perceived accessibility and value of low-cost travel packages among Uzbekistani residents. Aims: This study aims to evaluate perceptions of low-cost travel packages and identify key factors associated with their appeal to domestic tourists. Results: Based on a mixed-methods approach involving 37 online survey respondents and statistical analysis using SPSS, the study finds that perceptions of value-for-money are significantly shaped by travel frequency and the quality of customer service. Novelty: The research uniquely combines quantitative and qualitative evidence to illuminate how localized, budget-friendly travel options influence domestic tourism patterns in a Central Asian context. Implications: The findings suggest that to stimulate domestic tourism growth, stakeholders should prioritize promotional strategies, raise public awareness, and develop tailored, affordable travel packages for local residents. While the study's small sample limits generalizability, it provides a foundational basis for future research involving broader populations to validate and expand upon these insights. Highlights: Value perception is shaped by travel frequency and service quality. Custom low-cost packages can boost local tourism participation. Small sample limits generalizability; broader studies are needed. Keywords : Domestic Tourism, Uzbekistan, Customer Satisfaction, Travel Packages, Statistical Analysis

Abstract

General Background: Adolescence is a developmental period marked by complex emotional changes, particularly among adolescent girls living in orphanages who experience limited emotional support and environmental differences from nuclear families. Specific Background: Difficulties in emotional control among orphaned adolescent girls may manifest in withdrawal, irritability, and maladaptive behaviors, highlighting the need for structured psychological interventions. Knowledge Gap: Although expressive writing has been applied in various emotional contexts, limited empirical evidence exists regarding its application for improving emotional control among adolescent girls in orphanage settings. Aims: This study aims to examine the role of Expressive Writing Therapy (EXPRIT) in improving emotional control among adolescent girls residing in an orphanage. Results: Using a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design with four participants, statistical analysis through Paired Sample T-Test showed a significant difference between pretest (M = 9.500) and posttest scores (M = 30.500), with p = 0.032 (p < 0.05), indicating improved emotional control following intervention. Novelty: This study focuses specifically on adolescent girls in a Muhammadiyah-affiliated orphanage and integrates psychoanalytic catharsis theory with structured expressive writing sessions. Implications: Findings suggest that expressive writing therapy may serve as a structured psychological intervention to support emotional control development among vulnerable adolescents in institutional care settings. Keywords: Expressive Writing Therapy, Emotional Control, Adolescent Girls, Orphanage Setting, Psychological Intervention Key Findings Highlights: Significant score increase observed after structured writing sessions. Statistical testing confirmed measurable emotional regulation improvement. Intervention demonstrated feasibility within institutional care context.

Abstract

General Background Social media platforms, particularly Instagram, have become central spaces for self-expression and identity construction among university students. Specific Background In highly visual environments, perceptions of body image and experiences of social acceptance are closely related to psychological adjustment, especially self-confidence. Knowledge Gap Previous studies have often examined body image or social acceptance separately, yet limited research integrates both variables simultaneously in explaining student self-confidence within Instagram usage. Aims This study aims to analyze the relationship of body image and social acceptance with self-confidence among active Instagram users. Results Using a quantitative correlational design with 272 students aged 18–24 years, multiple regression analysis revealed that body image and social acceptance significantly predict self-confidence (F = 38.440, p < .001), jointly accounting for 22.2% of variance. Both body image (t = 3.899, p < .001) and social acceptance (t = 5.908, p < .001) showed significant partial contributions. Novelty This research integrates body image and social acceptance within a single regression model focusing specifically on Instagram users in higher education. Implications The findings provide empirical evidence for developing psychological guidance programs aimed at strengthening student self-confidence in digital social environments. Keywords: Body Image, Social Acceptance, Self Confidence, Instagram, University Students Key Findings Highlights: Body perception and peer acknowledgment jointly explain 22.2% variance in confidence levels. External recognition contributes more strongly than physical self-perception in the regression model. Psychological factors in visual digital platforms relate significantly to student adjustment.

Abstract

Background: The rapid digitalization of payment systems in Indonesia presents a transformative opportunity for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), yet adoption remains uneven. Specific Background: In particular, culinary MSMEs in Medan City exhibit varied levels of engagement with QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard), despite its potential to streamline transactions and enhance financial inclusion. Knowledge Gap: Limited empirical evidence exists on the behavioral drivers influencing QRIS adoption from an Islamic financial perspective, especially within the context of MSMEs. Aim: This study aims to examine the determinants of QRIS adoption among culinary MSMEs in Medan using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework. Results: Using a quantitative approach involving 78 purposively sampled MSMEs and multiple linear regression analysis, the study reveals that perceived usability and Islamic financial literacy significantly and positively influence QRIS adoption, while perceived convenience unexpectedly has a negative effect. These variables collectively explain 36.8% of the variance in adoption behavior. Novelty: The integration of Islamic financial literacy into the TAM framework presents a novel analytical perspective within the fintech adoption discourse in emerging markets. Implications: To promote broader QRIS adoption, policymakers and financial institutions should prioritize educational interventions addressing perceived convenience and enhance digital literacy rooted in Islamic financial principles. Highlight: Usability and Islamic literacy drive QRIS adoption. Convenience negatively affects adoption behavior. 36.8% of adoption decision explained by key TAM variables. Keywords: QRIS Adoption, Islamic Financial Literacy, TAM Framework, Culinary MSMEs, Digital Payment

Abstract

General Background: Tax avoidance remains a contentious issue in corporate financial management, drawing extensive academic and regulatory attention. Specific Background: While prior studies have examined the role of firm characteristics on tax behavior, limited attention has been given to the moderating effect of corporate governance.Knowledge Gap: Few empirical studies integrate internal company factors with governance mechanisms to explain variability in tax avoidance, especially in Indonesia’s transportation manufacturing sector. Aims: This study investigates the effects of leverage, firm size, thin capitalization, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and capital intensity on tax avoidance, and evaluates whether corporate governance—proxied by independent commissioners—modulates these relationships. Results: Using Smart-PLS analysis on data from 2019–2023, we find that firm size, thin capitalization, and capital intensity significantly influence tax avoidance, whereas leverage and CSR do not. Novelty: The study introduces a moderating analysis revealing that corporate governance can either amplify or dampen the influence of firm size, CSR, and capital intensity on tax avoidance—highlighting a nuanced role for governance mechanisms.Implications: These findings underscore the strategic role of independent commissioners in mitigating aggressive tax practices and offer insights for regulators aiming to improve corporate tax compliance through governance reforms. Highlights: Highlights the moderating role of independent commissioners in tax strategies. Reveals that firm size, thin capitalization, and capital intensity significantly impact tax avoidance. Offers evidence-based insights from Indonesia’s transportation manufacturing sector (2019–2023). Abstract

Background: Traffic violations are a problem that continues to occur and has an impact on public safety. Specific Background: In Serdang Bedagai Regency, traffic law enforcement efforts still face various challenges, despite having a strong legal basis. Knowledge Gap: However, studies that specifically review the process of equitable law enforcement and the obstacles faced by officials in this area are still limited. Aim: This study aims to analyze the rule of law, the implementation of the enforcement process, and the obstacles faced by traffic law enforcement in Serdang Bedagai Regency. Results: The results show that law enforcement refers to Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation, with legal settlement through the Sei Rampah District Court Decision which sentenced violators to two years imprisonment. However, weak enforcement of violations such as not wearing helmets or seat belts is a major obstacle. Novelty: This study provides an empirical picture of the relationship between legal provisions, judicial processes, and the reality of traffic law implementation in the region. Implications: The findings provide a basis for policy makers and police officers to strengthen consistent and equitable traffic law enforcement at the local level. Highlights: Highlights the legal basis and judicial process in traffic law enforcement. Identifies practical enforcement gaps in the field. Emphasizes the need for consistent and fair application of traffic laws. Keywords: Law Enforcement, Justice, Traffic Violation, Legal Process

Abstract

General Background: Despite Indonesia's Muslim-majority population, the market share of Islamic financial products remains low. Specific Background: Islamic financial literacy, trust in financial institutions, and personal religiosity have been identified as key determinants in financial decision-making, yet empirical studies show inconsistent findings. Knowledge Gap: Previous research has not adequately assessed these three factors simultaneously, particularly within a student population that receives Islamic education. Aims: This study aims to examine how religiosity, trust, and sharia financial literacy affect students’ interest in using Islamic financial products. Results: Based on a survey of 100 purposively sampled students at UIN North Sumatra, multiple linear regression analysis revealed that all three variables — religiosity (β = 0.345), trust (β = 0.445), and sharia financial literacy (β = 0.236) — have a positive and significant relationship with interest in using Islamic financial products, explaining 74.2% of the variance. Novelty: This study is one of the first to simultaneously analyze these predictors among students of an Islamic university, providing insights into the behavioral intentions of a strategically important demographic. Implications: The findings underscore the need for collaborative efforts between Islamic financial institutions and universities to foster literacy, trust, and religious alignment with financial behavior among youth.Highlights: Trust is the strongest predictor of product interest among students. Sharia financial literacy significantly correlates with usage interest. The model explains 74.2% of the variation in interest behavior. Abstract

General Background: Environmental sustainability has become an essential aspect of business operations, especially for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the food processing sector. Specific Background: The opak factory in Sidodadi Village, Indonesia, produces organic and inorganic waste, necessitating strategic environmental management. Knowledge Gap: While studies have shown benefits of green accounting, limited research explores its application and link to business sustainability within rural SMEs. Aims: This study aims to assess the implementation of green accounting and environmental performance in supporting business sustainability at the opak factory. Results: Using qualitative methods including interviews and field observations, findings reveal suboptimal integration of environmental costs into financial records and inadequate documentation of environmental initiatives. Although the factory engages in solid and liquid waste management—such as reusing cassava pulp as animal feed and building liquid waste tanks—these efforts are not systematically reported under green accounting frameworks. Novelty: The study offers empirical insight into green accounting within a rural food SME, highlighting distinct challenges and context-specific practices. Implications: Without structured financial tracking and better stakeholder awareness, potential long-term benefits such as increased competitiveness, regulatory compliance, and market access remain underutilized. Strengthening institutional understanding and environmental cost reporting is crucial for advancing sustainable business practices. Highlights: Environmental costs are not systematically recorded in financial reports. Waste management practices exist but lack integration into sustainability reporting. Green accounting remains underutilized due to limited awareness and resources. Keywords: green accounting, environmental performance, business sustainability, SMEs, waste management
