Abstract

General Background: Population growth in Indonesia increases demand for accessible and efficient public services, particularly in population administration and civil registration. Specific Background: The Population and Civil Registration Office of Sidoarjo Regency implemented the web-based Plavon Dukcapil system to facilitate administrative services, including Child Identity Card issuance as an essential legal identity document for children. Knowledge Gap: Although digital services have been introduced, concerns remain regarding service infrastructure, procedural delays, and limited public awareness of administrative service procedures. Aims: This study aims to describe the quality of population administration services through Plavon Dukcapil, focusing on Child Identity Card services using the service quality dimensions of Zeithaml, Parasuraman, and Berry. Results: Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study shows that tangible aspects indicate professional staff performance and adequate supporting facilities, although waiting seating remains limited. Reliability reflects clear service procedures but delays in document publication due to incomplete submissions and system disruptions. Responsiveness demonstrates fast complaint handling through hotlines and social media, despite limited direct public socialization. Assurance confirms cost-free services and secure management of population data, strengthening public trust. Empathy reveals friendly and non-discriminatory staff providing clear guidance to service users. Novelty: This study provides an integrated evaluation of digital population administration services through Plavon Dukcapil by applying a multidimensional service quality framework to Child Identity Card services. Implications: The findings emphasize the importance of improving service facilities, system stability, and public socialization to support sustainable digital public service delivery. Highlights: Professional staff conduct and adequate infrastructure support administrative processing, yet seating capacity remains insufficient during peak visits. Clear operational procedures exist, but document verification and system disruptions contribute to processing delays. Abstract

General Background: Human resource management in Islamic educational institutions plays a central role in shaping teacher professionalism and sustaining character-based education. Specific Background: Kuttab Al-Fatih Sidoarjo implements a curriculum based on Iman and Al-Qur’an, requiring systematic management to support teacher competence, particularly pedagogical competence. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have discussed human resource management in Islamic schools, yet limited research specifically analyzes POAC-based management integrated with an Iman and Al-Qur’an curriculum in the context of Kuttab institutions. Aims: This study aims to analyze the implementation of human resource management based on the Iman and Al-Qur’an curriculum using the POAC framework to develop teacher pedagogical competence at Kuttab Al-Fatih Sidoarjo. Results: Findings indicate that structured recruitment through Akademi I’dad Mudarrisin, organized role distribution, routine professional development programs, and continuous evaluation contribute to systematic teacher development, although time management constraints remain. Novelty: The study presents an integrated POAC-based human resource management model grounded in a dual curriculum of Iman and Al-Qur’an within a Kuttab educational setting. Abstract

General Background: The esophagus plays a fundamental role in food transportation and peristaltic coordination within the digestive system, making it a vital subject of anatomical and physiological research. Specific Background: Despite its importance, there is limited quantitative information regarding the normal macroscopic and morphometric characteristics of the esophagus in laboratory rats, particularly in white-bred strains, which are essential for biomedical modeling. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have focused primarily on pathological changes or chemically induced esophageal alterations, leaving a lack of standardized reference data for healthy specimens. Aims: This study aimed to characterize the normal macroscopic, morphological, and morphometric features of the esophagus in healthy white-bred rats under controlled laboratory conditions. Results: The findings revealed that the esophagus is a non-keratinized stratified squamous structure with progressive thickening of the muscular layers toward the lower segment, indicating adaptive enhancement for peristaltic propulsion. Quantitative measurements provided consistent baseline values across epithelial, submucosal, and muscular layers. Novelty: The study provides one of the most comprehensive baseline datasets for normal esophageal morphology in white-bred rats, bridging a critical gap in comparative and experimental anatomy. Implications: These reference values can serve as essential benchmarks for future pathological, toxicological, and pharmacological studies, improving the precision of experimental models involving the esophagus.Highlight : The study presents normal macroscopic and morphometric parameters of the oesophagus in white-bred rats. Abstract

General background: Women’s empowerment through Islamic education is essential for strengthening the capacities of female students in formal schooling environments. Specific background: Despite expanded educational access, female students still face barriers such as gender bias, limited participation, and challenges related to digital literacy. Knowledge gap: Previous studies have mainly focused on adult women’s organizations or female Islamic boarding schools, leaving limited research on student-based Islamic organizations as agents of empowerment. Aims: This study analyzes the role of the Muhammadiyah Students Association in empowering female students through Islamic education at SMA Muhammadiyah 02 Medan. Results: The findings show that the organization implements strategic programs including Islamic study sessions for female students, discussion forums, skills workshops, and collaborative religious studies that enhance spiritual, intellectual, social, and leadership capacities. The organization also serves as a platform for gender equality and Islamic character building, although challenges persist such as low active participation, limited resources, and digital vulnerabilities. Novelty: This study offers a new perspective by examining a high school student organization that integrates religious values, leadership development, and digital literacy into its empowerment activities. Abstract

General background: Reading comprehension remains a core challenge in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning. Specific background: Many high school students struggle to understand narrative text structures and implicit meanings. Knowledge gap: Few studies have investigated the integration of the ZepQuiz platform within Game-Based Learning (GBL) to enhance narrative reading comprehension at the secondary level. Aims: This study examined the use of ZepQuiz as a digital learning medium to improve students’ reading comprehension and motivation in narrative texts. Results: Using a one-group pretest-posttest quantitative design, findings from 35 students showed a statistically significant improvement (p < 0.05) in reading comprehension and motivation scores after ZepQuiz implementation. Novelty: The research highlights ZepQuiz’s ability to integrate gamification elements—leaderboards, instant feedback, and time challenges—to promote engagement and cognitive processing. Abstract

General background: Social Studies (IPS) learning on historical heritage often relies on lecture-based methods that limit student engagement and conceptual understanding. Specific background: At SMA Islam Sidoarjo, teaching Hindu–Buddhist heritage has not yet optimally utilized local sites such as Candi Tawangalun as contextual learning resources. Knowledge gap: Empirical evidence on the effectiveness of field trip (karyawisata) methods in improving senior high school students’ understanding of Hindu–Buddhist heritage remains limited. Aims: This study examines the influence of the field trip method to Candi Tawangalun on students’ understanding of Hindu–Buddhist heritage in grade X IPS. Results: Using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design (N = 100), the experimental classes showed significantly higher gains (N-Gain 0.57–0.58; moderate) than the control class (N-Gain 0.27; low), supported by strong observation and questionnaire scores. Novelty: The study integrates local temple heritage as a structured field-based IPS learning model at the SMA level, combining cognitive outcomes with students’ affective and motivational responses. Implications: Findings underscore the need for schools and teachers to institutionalize field trip–based, local-history learning to enhance understanding, engagement, and appreciation of cultural heritage in IPS instruction. Abstract

General Background: The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed educational practices, requiring teachers to integrate innovative media that enhance learning quality. Specific Background: In mathematics education, particularly algebra, students often struggle to understand abstract concepts due to conventional teaching methods. Knowledge Gap: Few empirical studies have examined the combined use of interactive media such as Canva and Quizizz to improve algebraic thinking in junior high school students, especially within limited-resource contexts like Bireuen. Aims: This study investigates the effectiveness of Canva and Quizizz interactive media in enhancing students’ algebraic thinking skills. Results: Employing a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control groups, findings show a significant improvement in the experimental group’s performance (Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05), with an N-Gain of 0.7968 (high category), compared to 0.1456 (low) in the control group. Students expressed positive responses, indicating increased motivation and engagement. Novelty: The integration of Canva’s visual-based learning and Quizizz’s gamified assessment creates a synergistic model that bridges conceptual understanding and learner motivation. Implications: The study demonstrates that digital interactive media can effectively enhance cognitive and affective learning outcomes, offering a replicable framework for innovative mathematics instruction in the digital era. General Background: The stability of commercial banks is a cornerstone of national economic sustainability, as these institutions serve as key intermediaries in financial resource allocation. Specific Background: However, frequent exposure to global financial shocks, digital transformation challenges, and credit risk volatility demands the adoption of modern crisis management frameworks. Knowledge Gap: Despite global progress, developing economies like Uzbekistan still face constraints in integrating advanced risk management tools, digital technologies, and governance reforms effectively. Abstract

General Background: Early adulthood is a developmental phase marked by emotional challenges, particularly following romantic relationship dissolution. Specific Background: Difficulties in emotion regulation and self-acceptance often hinder psychological recovery during this period. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies largely examined resilience independently, leaving limited evidence on its simultaneous association with emotional intelligence and self-acceptance among early adults experiencing breakup. Aims: This study aims to examine the relationships between emotional intelligence, self-acceptance, and resilience in early adulthood after breakup experiences. Results: Findings indicate significant positive associations among emotional intelligence, self-acceptance, and resilience, suggesting that individuals with stronger emotional regulation and higher self-acceptance demonstrate greater adaptive capacity. Novelty: This study integrates emotional intelligence and self-acceptance within a unified resilience framework among early adults post-breakup, providing empirical evidence in an underexplored context. Implications: The results highlight the importance of psychosocial interventions focusing on emotional regulation and self-acceptance to support resilience development in young adults. Abstract

General Background: Tax compliance is a fundamental component of Indonesia’s revenue system, particularly under the self-assessment mechanism that relies on taxpayer honesty and awareness. Specific Background: Despite various incentives and reduced tax rates, the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector continues to exhibit low compliance levels. Prior research has overlooked the integrated role of behavioral, technological, and enforcement factors in shaping tax compliance. Knowledge Gap: Limited studies have examined how money ethics, artificial intelligence (AI), tax rates, and tax audits influence MSME tax compliance when moderated by tax sanctions. Aims: This study aims to analyze the effects of these four variables on MSME taxpayer compliance in South Sumatra, with tax sanctions as a moderating variable. Results: Using moderation regression analysis on data from 110 MSME respondents, findings reveal that money ethics, AI, and tax audits significantly affect compliance, while tax rates do not; tax sanctions significantly strengthen all relationships. Novelty: This research integrates moral, technological, and regulatory perspectives through the Theory of Planned Behavior, presenting a new framework for compliance analysis in the digital taxation era. Implications: The study provides practical guidance for policymakers to enhance MSME tax compliance via balanced moral education, AI-based systems, and fair but firm enforcement measures.
