Abstract

General Background Digital transformation in education requires learning media that support active, contextual, and student-centered learning in elementary education. Specific Background Project-Based Learning (PjBL)-based interactive e-modules combine digital content, project activities, and multimedia features to support elementary students’ learning outcomes, engagement, and critical thinking. Knowledge Gap Although previous studies report positive results, the evidence remains limited because the number of reviewed studies is relatively small, research designs vary, and standardized effect size reporting is still lacking. Aims This study aimed to analyze and evaluate PjBL-based interactive e-modules in improving elementary school students’ learning outcomes through a narrative literature review. Results Fifteen articles published between 2020 and 2025 from Scopus, Sinta, and Google Scholar were reviewed. The findings showed a consistent positive trend, with several studies reporting moderate learning gains, approximately 20–30% increases in post-test scores, along with better student engagement and critical thinking skills. The review also identified teacher competency, technological access, and instructional design quality as key moderating factors. Novelty This review synthesizes recent evidence on PjBL-based interactive e-modules by linking learning outcomes with moderating implementation factors and practical development priorities. Implications The findings suggest the need for structured teacher training, standardized interactive module frameworks, and scalable digital infrastructure, while future research should apply meta-analytic approaches and report effect sizes to strengthen the evidence base. Highlights • Fifteen articles from 2020–2025 were synthesized from Scopus, Sinta, and Google Scholar.• Post-test scores showed a consistent 20–30% upward pattern across reviewed studies.• Teacher competency, technological access, and instructional design quality shaped implementation results. Abstract

General Background Criminal procedure must reconcile effective law enforcement with legality, due process, privacy, and the presumption of innocence. Specific Background The new Criminal Procedure Code recognizes wiretapping as a coercive measure and grants investigators authority to use it in criminal investigation, while its detailed procedures remain delegated to a separate statute. Knowledge Gap Existing discussions on coercive measures have largely centered on arrest, detention, search, seizure, and pretrial oversight, whereas wiretapping under the new procedural regime remains insufficiently examined, particularly in relation to the presumption of innocence and the absence of comprehensive procedural safeguards. Aims This study analyzes the authority to conduct wiretapping as a coercive measure and its legal implications for privacy rights, legality, due process of law, and the presumption of innocence. Results The findings show that wiretapping is relevant for uncovering modern crimes involving technological communication, but the lack of clear rules on implementation, judicial authorization, supervision, subject limits, offense categories, duration, and accountability creates legal uncertainty and opens space for abuse of authority. Wiretapping at the preliminary stage may also place individuals who have not been named suspects under state surveillance, thereby risking privacy violations and weakening the presumption of innocence. Novelty The study positions wiretapping as a high-intrusion coercive measure that requires strict subsidiarity, proportionality, and judicial control before use. Implications Comprehensive regulation is needed to balance criminal law enforcement with human rights protection and to secure the validity of electronic evidence in criminal justice. Highlights • Coercive interception supports the detection of technology-based crime.• Procedural uncertainty opens room for misuse of investigative authority.• Judicial control is needed to balance enforcement and human rights. Abstract

General Background Islamic inheritance is a central component of Islamic family law explicitly regulated by the Qur’an and Hadith, yet it remains debated because of gender-based disparities in relation to justice and public welfare. Specific Background This study examines contemporary debates on gender justice in Islamic inheritance law through a structured review of reputable journal articles published between 2015 and 2025, guided by hermeneutical reading and the maqāṣid al-sharīʿah perspective. Knowledge Gap Previous studies have often remained within two opposing poles, namely textualist-apologetic defense of the 2:1 inheritance ratio and revisionist-contextual demands for equal shares, without offering an integrative Islamic epistemological synthesis. Aims This study analyzes the normative basis of inheritance distribution, evaluates classical and modern debates on unequal inheritance rights, and offers a reinterpretive framework grounded in internal Islamic hermeneutics, maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, and maṣlaḥah. Results The study maps three major positions: textualist-apologetic, revisionist-contextual, and Islamic feminist critiques. It also reveals a movement toward proportional justice, where inheritance rights are considered in relation to real economic responsibility and contribution, especially when a person functions as the main provider. Novelty The study formulates maqāṣid al-sharīʿah as a manhaj wasaṭī, or mediating framework, that integrates textual authority, socio-historical context, and substantive justice. Implications This framework supports a contextual yet textually grounded understanding of Islamic inheritance law for inclusive and gender-responsive legal reasoning. Highlights• Proportional fairness links shares with actual economic responsibility.• Three scholarly positions are mapped across textualist, contextual, and feminist debates.• Wasathiyyah reasoning connects scriptural authority with changing social realities. Abstract

General Background: Abruptio placentae is the premature separation of the placenta after 20 weeks of gestation and remains a major obstetric emergency associated with substantial maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Specific Background: This condition frequently leads to cesarean delivery, maternal anemia, postpartum hemorrhage, disseminated intravascular coagulation, shock, prematurity, and fetal death. Knowledge Gap: National data on abruptio placentae and its associated delivery patterns and fetal outcomes remain limited in Iraq, particularly in the Kurdistan Region. Aims: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of abruptio placentae and to assess the mode of delivery and fetal outcomes among affected pregnancies in Erbil Maternity Teaching Hospital. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from August 2019 to January 2020 involving 65 pregnant women diagnosed with abruptio placentae. Results: The prevalence of abruptio placentae was 0.69%. Cesarean section was performed in 73.8% of cases. Maternal complications included anemia (95.4%), postpartum hemorrhage (20.0%), blood transfusion (32.3%), disseminated intravascular coagulation (4.6%), and shock (7.7%). Preterm birth occurred in 36.9% of neonates, and fetal death was recorded in 16.9% of cases. Fetal mortality was significantly associated with advanced maternal age, disseminated intravascular coagulation, maternal shock, and prematurity. Novelty: This study provides updated evidence on abruptio placentae outcomes from a tertiary hospital in Iraqi Kurdistan. Implications: Early recognition and prompt management of abruptio placentae are essential to reduce severe maternal complications and perinatal mortality. Highlights: • Abruptio placentae prevalence at Erbil Maternity Teaching Hospital was 0.69%.• Cesarean section was the predominant delivery approach in nearly three-quarters of cases.• Prematurity, maternal shock, and disseminated intravascular coagulation were linked to fetal death. Abstract

General Background: Urban public transport systems require reliable traffic operations and safe road infrastructure to maintain mobility efficiency and passenger service quality. Specific Background: This study investigates operational constraints affecting bus movement on Alisher Navoi Street in Tashkent, focusing on dedicated bus lanes, geometric lane dimensions, roadside infrastructure, and traffic intensity characteristics. Knowledge Gap: Existing urban traffic lanes and supporting infrastructure do not fully correspond to the geometric and operational requirements necessary for safe and continuous bus movement under high traffic density conditions. Aims: The study aims to identify negative factors affecting public transport movement and to determine scientifically justified measures for improving bus operating speed and traffic safety on urban streets. Results: Traffic observations revealed high vehicle density dominated by passenger cars, with total traffic intensity reaching 4306 vehicles during peak periods. Statistical analysis showed dispersed modal vehicle speeds, with an 85th-percentile speed of 64 km/h and a speed variation range of 55 km/h, indicating inefficient use of street transport capacity. The existing dedicated bus lane width was found to be inadequate for the designated operating speed. After increasing the dedicated bus lane width from 2.2 m to 3.20 m and removing barriers obstructing bus movement, bus operating speed increased from 18 km/h to 22 km/h, while congestion and operational interruptions decreased. Novelty: The study provides a scientifically justified assessment of dedicated lane geometry and roadside operational constraints based on field traffic observations and statistical speed analysis. Implications: The findings support practical road infrastructure modifications for improving public transport reliability, traffic safety, and urban traffic-flow management. Highlights: • Dedicated bus lane expansion increased bus operating speed from 18 km/h to 22 km/h.• Statistical traffic analysis identified dispersed modal speeds and inefficient street capacity utilization.• Removal of roadside barriers reduced operational interruptions within priority transit corridors.
