Abstract

This research aims to analyze the dynamics of Sharia clothing implementation within the context of the relationship between law and culture in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of contemporary scientific sources from the 2020–2025 period. The focus of the study includes the interaction between Sharia normative provisions and social practices within the Indonesian Muslim fashion industry. The findings indicate that differing interpretations regarding the boundaries of awrah and Sharia standards have led to diverse clothing practices in society. Furthermore, a process of cultural negotiation occurs between universal Islamic values and local wisdom, giving birth to the distinct characteristics of Indonesian Muslim fashion. The Muslim fashion industry is also undergoing a transformation from a Sharia-compliance orientation toward a market-oriented approach, creating a dilemma between maintaining religious values and meeting economic demands. Additionally, digitalization and social media play a primary role in accelerating the transformation and reinterpretation of Sharia clothing, particularly among the younger generation. This research recommends the need for adaptive regulations, the development of credible Sharia certification standards, and an increase in public literacy to create a sustainable and contextual Muslim fashion ecosystem in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze product innovation in Sharia Non-Bank Financial Institutions (SNBFIs) in Indonesia, including the mechanisms of driving factors, barriers, and their implications for the industry's competitiveness and sustainability. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library research design, analyzing various scientific literatures, industry reports, and relevant policy documents. The findings indicate that the driving mechanisms for innovation include increasingly diverse customer needs, industrial competitive pressures, and rapid advancements in digital technology. A prominent form of innovation identified is the development of Sharia micro-insurance (micro-takaful), which is affordable for low-income communities, as well as the utilization of Sharia crowdfunding platforms for MSME financing based on Sharia contracts. Conversely, product innovation faces several barriers, particularly regarding regulatory and resource aspects. The Sharia compliance process, which requires fatwa validation, is often time-consuming, compounded by a shortage of human resources proficient in both fiqh muamalah and technology, and limited funding for research and development. Furthermore, regulatory rigidity in the early stages of innovation poses a significant challenge for new product development. This study affirms that product innovation is a strategic necessity for SNBFIs to enhance competitiveness and expand Sharia financial inclusion. Therefore, synergy among institutions, regulators, and the digital ecosystem is required to create adaptive, inclusive, and Sharia-compliant innovations.

Abstract

The discourse on integrating Islamic values into Guidance and Counseling (BK) services at Madrasah Aliyah often encounters a structural dilemma: the transcendental vision is not accompanied by an adequate managerial system. The Islamic BK curriculum is adopted normatively, but it often remains symbolic and detached from the institution's policy architecture. This study aims to examine how the madrasah management system internalizes Islamic values into the planning, implementation, and evaluation of BK services. The research uses a qualitative approach with a single case study design at an Islamic-based Madrasah Aliyah. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and institutional document analysis. The results show that the integration of the Islamic BK curriculum is partial and lacks a systemic managerial strategy. The dominance of an administrative approach, weak leadership roles, and the absence of a value-based evaluation mechanism are the main factors hindering the internalization of Islamic values in BK services. This study recommends a reformulation of Islamic educational management policies that position BK services as a transformative, rather than merely procedural, instrument.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Indonesia's national diversity and its accompanying challenges serve as the compelling background for this research. The existence of various religions and belief systems is one of many aspects of this diversity, which at certain points, often triggers conflict and violence. Inter-ethnic and inter-religious conflicts in several regions of Indonesia reflect a lack of understanding among parts of society in responding to such plurality. Therefore, an in-depth study of educational implementation in Indonesia, specifically multicultural-dimensioned religious education, is crucial for addressing horizontal conflicts driven by religious or ethnic sentiments. In this context, Azyumardi Azra is a prominent Muslim scholar whose thoughts are deeply concerned with these issues. This research is a library study using a qualitative biographical approach. The method employed is content analysis to understand and identify the substance of Azyumardi Azra's multicultural education thoughts found across various literary sources. The results indicate: (1) In Azra's view, multiculturalism leads to a conscious affirmation that all forms of diversity and difference hold equal standing in the public sphere. Multiculturalism goes beyond a mere understanding of plurality. The core values developed in Azra’s perspective include plurality, equality, humanity, justice, and democratic values; (2) According to Azra, multicultural education is education for or about social diversity aimed at fostering unity amidst diversity. Azra’s concept of multicultural education is rooted in the reality of Indonesia's national diversity to strengthen the four pillars of the nation: Pancasila, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), the 1945 Constitution, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.
