Abstract

Abstract

Transpersonal psychology places mystical experience as an essential dimension in the evolution of human consciousness. Sufism, as a manifestation of Islamic mysticism, offers a process of psychological transformation through fana' (the elimination of the ego) and baqa' (stable spiritual consciousness). This study analyzes the relationship between sufism and transpersonal psychology by examining the similarities between the concept of fana' and Maslow's self-transcendence and baqa' and Jungian individuation. Using critical literature studies, this study shows that mystical experiences in Sufism are not just spiritual phenomena, but psychological mechanisms that play a role in the regulation of emotions, the reconstruction of self-identity, and the optimization of mental well-being. Furthermore, Sufistic practices such as muraqabah and dhikr have parallels with mindfulness in modern psychotherapy, which has implications for the effectiveness of mindfulness-based therapy. These findings confirm that the integration of Sufism and transpersonal psychology can reconstruct contemporary psychotherapeutic approaches, presenting a more holistic and spirituality-based model of intervention.

Abstract

Abstract

Curricular innovation in Islamic education represents a strategic effort to address the challenges posed by the advancement of science and technology while preserving the authenticity of tawhid values. Within the context of Islamic higher education, the integration of tawhid, science, and technology is essential for cultivating a generation with a strong spiritual foundation, mastery of modern knowledge, and adaptive technological skills. This study aims to analyze the forms of curricular innovation in Islamic higher education with a particular focus on the integration of these three dimensions. Employing a qualitative approach through a literature study, the research examines relevant scholarly works from journals, books, and academic policy documents. The findings indicate that curricular innovation can be realized through integrative instructional design, the reinforcement of interdisciplinary courses, and the implementation of project-based learning models that connect faith with the application of science and technology. Such integration not only strengthens students’ Islamic identity but also enhances their competitiveness in the era of globalization. Furthermore, an innovative and integrative curriculum has the potential to produce graduates who serve as agents of change, grounded in tawhid, equipped with scientific knowledge, and competent in the practical use of technology.

Abstract

The global ecological crisis cannot be adequately addressed solely through technological and economic solutions; it also requires the revival of spiritual awareness and environmental ethics. This article examines the concept of ecosufism in the Javanese mystical text Suluk Wujil, traditionally attributed to Sunan Bonang, by analyzing the depiction of the harmonious relationship between God, humans, and nature within the framework of Nusantara Islamic spirituality. This qualitative study employs a library research approach and is analyzed using Sufi hermeneutics and a Sufi cosmological perspective. The findings reveal that Suluk Wujil presents a cosmological framework integrating the metaphysical doctrine of waḥdat al-wujūd with Javanese cosmological concepts, particularly jagad ageng (macrocosm) and jagad alit (microcosm). This synthesis reflects a spiritual worldview in which nature is understood as a manifestation of divine presence rather than merely an object of exploitation. Furthermore, this study proposes the concept of “Ecosufistic Makrifat Epistemology,” suggesting that the attainment of makrifat involves not only inner spiritual transformation but also ecological awareness and ethical responsibility toward nature. Thus, Suluk Wujil offers a Nusantara ecosufism framework that provides a spiritual–ethical foundation for addressing contemporary ecological challenges.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of the values of justice in the trading practices of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and their relevance to the contemporary Islamic economy in Indonesia. The study is motivated by the urgent need to integrate Islamic ethical principles (such as honesty (shiddiq), trustworthiness (amanah), transparency, and social responsibility) into modern economic practices that face challenges like economic inequality, monopolies, and low ethical awareness. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research and content analysis, examining the Qur’an, Hadith, fiqh muamalah literature, scientific journals, and research reports related to Islamic business ethics. A qualitative descriptive analysis was conducted to understand the application of justice in income distribution, risk management, and socio-economic mechanisms such as mudharabah, musharakah, zakat, and waqf. The results indicate that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) consistently upheld the value of justice in every economic transaction, creating a trading system that was fair, transparent, and harmonious for traders, consumers, and society alike. These values remain highly relevant to contemporary Islamic economic instruments, supporting social gap reduction, community welfare, and business sustainability. Challenges to implementation include resistance from business actors, a lack of public understanding, and inadequate regulations; thus, successful adaptation requires synergy between the government, business practitioners, and society. Practically, the principle of justice can be applied across traditional markets, modern retail, and e-commerce through transparency, equitable profit distribution, risk management, and the integration of productive zakat and waqf, thereby building an inclusive, fair, and sustainable economic ecosystem.

Abstract

This research aims to critically analyze the phenomenon of Islamophobia and its implications for da’wah (Islamic outreach) practices in Indonesia within the contemporary digital context. As a form of prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination against Islam and Muslims, Islamophobia has not only thrived in the West but has also begun to manifest in the digital spaces of Indonesia and Southeast Asia through misinformation, media framing, and the polarization of religious identity. This study utilizes a qualitative approach with a library research design, enriched by participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted by combining discourse analysis (to examine the construction of Islamophobic narratives) and content analysis—to identify message patterns within da’wah materials and digital media. The results indicate that Islamophobia significantly impacts the effectiveness of da’wah, particularly by fostering audience resistance, decreasing public trust, and strengthening biases within the digital ecosystem. The study finds that effective da’wah strategies in responding to Islamophobia include constructing counter-narratives based on digital education, strengthening media literacy, implementing dialogic da’wah approaches, and developing interfaith digital movements. The research implications emphasize the importance of enhancing the digital literacy and cross-cultural communication capacity of da’wah practitioners, as well as the need for adaptive and responsive policies to address the spread of Islamophobic narratives in the digital public sphere.
