Abstract

The application of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi can enhance the fertility of peat soils and reduce the requirement for NPK fertilization on the plat. The study aimed to evaluate the role of AMF in improving the growth and yield of bird’s eye chili and in supporting NPK fertilizer efficiency on peat soil. The experiment was conducted in Pontianak City, West Kalimantan, from July to November 2024, using a factorial completely randomized design. The first factor consisted of three levels of AMF application without AMF, AMF sourced from pineapple vegetation, and AMF sourced from weed vegetation. The second factor consisted of four levels of NPK fertilizer dosage 100% recommended NPK, 75% recommended NPK, 50% recommended NPK, and 25% recommended NPK. The results showed that the application of AMF significantly improved the growth and yield of bird’s eye chili on peat soil and enhanced the efficiency of NPK fertilization. The interaction between AMF and NPK dosages indicated that plants inoculated with AMF, particularly AMF from pineapple vegetation, exhibited greater plant height, higher plant dry weight, earlier flowering, and higher fruit weight per plant compared to plants without AMF across all fertilizer levels. The most optimal effect of AMF was observed at the 50% NPK dosage, which produced the best growth and yield performance, indicating that AMF application can reduce chemical fertilizer requirements without compromising crop productivity.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Banana Peel Waste POC and Urea Fertilizer and the interaction of the two treatments on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the Pre-nursery. The study was conducted for 4 months, starting from March 2025 preparation to June 2025 the final data collection and took place at the Research Field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Widya Gama Mahakam University Samarinda, Jalan Wahid Hasyim, Sempaja Village, North Samarinda District, East Kalimantan. The research method used a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications. The first factor is Banana Peel Waste POC (P) which consists of 4 levels, namely: P0 (Control), P1 (50 ml/polybag), P2 (75 ml/polybag) P3 (100 ml/polybag The second factor is Urea Fertilizer (U) which consists of 4 levels, namely: U0 (Control), U1 (8 g/polybag), U2 (10 g/polybag), and U3 (12 g/polybag). The observation variables are plant height growth, stem diameter and number of leaves. The results showed that Banana Peel Waste Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) significantly affected all parameters at 90 days after planting (HST) with the best dose of 50 ml/polybag. Urea fertilizer significantly affected all parameters at 60 and 90 days after planting at a dose of 12 g/polybag. Meanwhile, the interaction between Banana Peel Waste Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) and Urea did not significantly affect all observed parameters.

Abstract

Peningkatan hasil padi diperlukan karena meningkatnya kebutuhan beras nasional, namun, produktivitas lahan masih menjadi masalah utama, terlebih maraknya degradasi kesuburan tanah dan alih fungsi lahan. Pemberian bahan organik dibarengi pupuk N, P, K dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pemupukan dan mengurangi input pupuk kimia. Tujuan percobaan adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh sinergi kedua bahan dalam meningkatkan P-potensial, P-tersedia, serapan P, dan hasil padi serta mencari dosis terbaik yang menghasilkan gabah kering giling (GKG) tertinggi dengan pengurangan input pupuk kimia. Percobaan dilakukan pada bulan Juli-Desember 2025 di Lahan Percobaan Kimia Tanah dan Nutrisi Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran. Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dilakukan dalam percobaan ini dengan 9 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan dengan rincian: Kontrol; N, P, K rekomendasi; 1 pembenah tanah; ¼ pembenah tanah + 1 dosis N, P, K; ½ pembenah tanah + 1 dosis n, p, k; ¾ pembenah tanah + 1 dosis N, P, K; 1 pembenah tanah + ½ dosis n, p, k; 1 pembenah tanah + ¾ dosis N, P, K; 1 pembenah tanah + 1 dosis N, P, K. Hasil percobaan mengindikasikan bahwa kedua bahan dapat bersinergi dan berpengaruh nyata dalam meningkatkan kadar P-potensial, P-tersedia, serapan P, serta hasil padi kecuali pada persentase gabah bernas. Dosis 8 t ha-1 kombinasi pembenah tanah dan 50% N, P, K anjuran (262,5 kg. ha-1 Urea; 37,5 kg. ha-1 SP-36; dan 37,5 kg ha-1 KCl) dapat meningkatkan hasil gabah kering giling (3,39 kg petak-1) dengan mengurangi input pupuk kimia sebesar 50%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the response of oil palm seedling growth to the provision of Bokashi Swiftlet Droppings in the planting medium and Rainbow NPK fertilizer and the interaction of the two treatments. The study was conducted for 4 months, starting from March 2025 preparation to June 2025 the last data collection and took place at the Research Field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Widya Gama Mahakam University Samarinda, Jalan Wahid Hasyim, Sempaja Village, North Samarinda District, East Kalimantan. The research method used a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications. The first factor is Bokashi Swiftlet Droppings (B) which consists of 3 levels, namely: B0 (Control), B1 (500 g/polybag), and B2 (1,000 g/polybag). The second factor is Rainbow NPK Fertilizer (N) which consists of 4 levels, namely: N0 (Control), N1 (10 g/polybag), N2 (20 g/polybag), and N3 (30 g/polybag). The observation variables are plant height growth, stem diameter and number of leaves. The results showed that Bokashi Swiftlet Droppings gave significant results on all parameters of 90 HSP age with the best dose of 1,000 g/polybag. Rainbow NPK Fertilizer gave significant results on all parameters of 60 and 90 HSP age with a dose of 30 g/polybag. While the interaction between Bokashi Swiftlet Droppings and Rainbow NPK did not have a significant effect on all parameters observed.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the roles of women farmers in the productive, reproductive, and social aspects of lowland  rice farming, their working time allocation, and their income contribution to household income in East Langsa District,  Langsa City. The method used in this study was quantitative descriptive analysis. The research location was determined  purposefully in three villages with the highest number of farmer households, while the respondents were selected using  simple random sampling from the sample farmer households. The data used in this study consisted of primary and  secondary data. The data analysis methods used included descriptive percentage analysis, calculation of women  farmers’ working time allocation, and calculation of the contribution of women farmers’ income to household income.  The results showed that the role of women farmers in lowland rice farming in the productive aspect was most dominant  in planting activities, with an involvement rate of 100%, while the lowest involvement was found in land preparation  activities, at 0%. In the reproductive and social aspects, women farmers played an active role in household activities  and social community activities such as religious gatherings, PKK, and posyandu. The average working time allocation  of women farmers for productive or income-earning activities was 59.47% of the total working time allocation, which  included productive, reproductive, and social activities. The contribution of income provided by women farmers was  22.37%. This indicates that the income contribution of women farmers in lowland rice farming was included in the  medium contribution category (20.01– 30.00%).

Abstract

The Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Support Services (YESS) Program is a youth development program in the agricultural sector aimed at enhancing the capacity of millennial farmers. However, the low rate of young farmer regeneration and the limited supporting environment remain challenges in agricultural development. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the supporting environment and the independence of millennial farmers participating in the YESS Program in Sukabumi District. The study employed a quantitative approach using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. Purposive sampling was used to select 45 respondents. The results showed that the supporting environment had a positive and significant relationship with millennial farmers’ independence, with a path coefficient value of 0.796 and a p-value of 0.000. The findings also indicated that millennial farmers who received better supporting environments tended to have higher levels of independence. The supporting environment variable was measured through indicators of partnership development, rural youth mobilization, and agricultural youth policy. This study provides empirical contributions to the development of millennial farmer studies by examining the role of the supporting environment within the context of the YESS Program using the SEM-PLS approach. Therefore, strengthening partnerships, rural youth mobilization, and agricultural youth policies is necessary to support the sustainability of millennial farmers in the agricultural sector.

Abstract

Climate change has become one of the major challenges affecting agricultural productivity and sustainability. To support climate change adaptation, the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development developed the Integrated Cropping Calendar Information System (ICCIS). However, the success of technological innovation is determined not only by its technical quality but also by users’ perceptions of innovation characteristics. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between innovation characteristics and the adoption of ICCIS among agricultural extension workers in Riau Province. The research was conducted in Siak Regency and Kepulauan Meranti Regency involving 44 agricultural extension workers as respondents. A quantitative approach supported by qualitative data was employed. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman Rank Correlation. The results showed that relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, observability, and trialability were significantly related to ICCIS adoption. Trialability and observability exhibited the strongest relationships with extension workers’ understanding and utilization of ICCIS. The findings indicate that innovations perceived as easy to try and whose benefits can be directly observed are more likely to be adopted. This study contributes to the diffusion of innovation literature by demonstrating the importance of innovation characteristics in promoting agricultural information technology adoption among extension workers. Strengthening practical demonstrations and improving system accessibility are recommended to increase ICCIS adoption.

Abstract

Soil salinity is one of the major limiting factors of soil fertility that directly affects rice growth and productivity. This study aimed to evaluate the role of mycorrhizal fungi in enhancing the growth and yield of rice plants under saline growing media conditions. The research was conducted at the Plant Seed Center, Peniraman Village, Sungai Pinyuh District, Mempawah Regency, from August to December 2025. The experiment was arranged in a split-plot design based on a randomized complete block design. The main plots consisted of without mycorrhizal fungi application and with mycorrhizal fungi application, while the subplots consisted of salinity levels of 0, 2, 3, 4, and 5 ppt. There were 10 treatment combinations, each replicated three times, with eight observation units, resulting in a total of 240 plants. The results showed that the application of mycorrhizal fungi increased rice productivity, as indicated by the grain weight per hill. Rice plants were able to tolerate soil salinity conditions up to 2 ppt, based on the variables of plant dry weight, panicle length, 1000-grain weight, and percentage of filled grains. No interaction was observed between mycorrhizal fungi application and salinity levels for all variables measured.

Abstract

Perbanyakan tanaman Nepenthes sp. secara masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti laju pertumbuhan yang lambat dan tingkat keberhasilan perbanyakan yang rendah, sehingga diperlukan metode perbanyakan alternatif melalui teknik kultur in vitro . Keberhasilan kultur in vitro sangat dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan zat pengatur tumbuh, khususnya auksin dan sitokinin, yang berperan dalam mengatur arah pertumbuhan jaringan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsentrasi interaksi BAP dan NAA yang terbaik terhadap induksi tunas Nepenthes sp . secara in vitro pada media ½ MS. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Bioteknologi, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Tanjungpura. Periode penelitian dari bulan Oktober 2025-Januari 2026. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi NAA yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu 0,5 ppm, 1 ppm, 1,5 ppm dan faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi BAP yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu 1 ppm, 2 ppm, 3 ppm, sehingga diperoleh 9 kombinasi perlakuan, setiap perlakuan terdiri dari 3 ulangan dan setiap unit perlakuan terdiri dari 2 sampel, setiap botol ditanami 1 eksplan. Jumlah unit percobaan yaitu 9 x 3 x 2 menjadi 54 eksplan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua konsentrasi interaksi BAP dan NAA memberikan pengaruh yang sama terhadap induksi tunas Nepenthes secara in vitro pada media ½ MS. Abstract

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a strategic plantation commodity in Indonesia whose production success is largely determined by seedling quality during the early growth phase. Adequate nutrient supply at the pre-nursery stage is decisive for vegetative growth, making the choice of fertilizer type and dose critical. This study aimed to determine the effect of swiftlet manure bokashi, NPK Mutiara fertilizer, and their interaction on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery. The experiment used a factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications, producing 48 experimental units. The first factor was the dose of swiftlet manure bokashi (0; 450; 500; 550 g/plant) and the second was NPK Mutiara (0; 4; 6; 8 g/plant). Plant height, stem diameter, and leaf number were observed at 30, 60, and 90 days after treatment (DAT) and analyzed using ANOVA followed by the LSD test at the 5% level. Bokashi significantly to highly significantly affected all parameters, with the highest dose (B3 = 550 g/plant) giving the best results at 90 DAT (height 23.43 cm; stem diameter 7.28 mm; 5.08 leaves). NPK Mutiara and the interaction had no significant effect. Laboratory analysis confirmed that the bokashi contained 11.07% total N, 30.93% organic C, and a low C/N ratio (2.79). The findings recommend swiftlet manure bokashi as an organic fertilizer derived from local waste for oil palm pre-nursery cultivation
