Abstract

This study discusses Maria Mies' ecofeminist perspective on the Mandalika project and its impact on the viability of Sasak women as entities living in the area. Ecofeminism in Mies' perspective is seen as an approach that connects women's equality and freedom with the phenomenon of exploitation of nature by capitalist companies. Maria Mies' ecofeminism gives rise to a subsistence perspective approach. The impact of this exploitation of nature affects women’s lives socially, economically, and health-wise. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research data collection method. This study traces Mies' thoughts from her books and reviews the lives of Sasak women affected by the Mandalika Project. By using the ecofeminist approach in Mies' Subsistence perspective, this study concludes that Sasak women are in a condition of life that is not feasible in terms of health and economy due to the Mandalika project. Mies call this condition of Sasak women an unattainable step towards the goal of the subsistence perspective, the imaginary manipulation of capitalists, or the limited awareness of Sasak women to rise to fight for freedom and equality to live a decent life. Expectations drawn from this study can contribute to thinking about government policy and public awareness regarding the importance of paying attention to equality, justice, and the impact of the interconnectedness between nature, women, people, and a sustainable economy.

Abstract

Food delivery service applications have a significant impact on the lifestyle of Malaysians, including students. These applications allow users to order and receive food without having to visit restaurants or food stalls directly. However, some users have expressed dissatisfaction with high delivery fees, unsatisfactory food conditions, and frequent delivery delays. These issues lead to customer dissatisfaction with the services provided. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate customer satisfaction levels with food delivery service applications, particularly among UTHM Pagoh students. The study employs a quantitative methodology with descriptive analysis. Data were collected through an online survey distributed via WhatsApp using the Google Form platform. A total of 300 UTHM Pagoh students participated as respondents in this study. The findings reveal that the majority of customers are satisfied with food delivery services with a mean score of 3.99 categorized as Satisfied. This indicates that food delivery services are quite satisfactory for customers. Nevertheless, all agencies providing food delivery services must improve their facilities to ensure customers can utilize the services without complaints thereby advancing the food service sector in Malaysia. This study contributes to the literature by offering empirical data and contextual analysis that are relevant to consumer behavior in Malaysia and contribute significantly to overall economic growth potency.

Abstract

This research discusses the governance of village head elections in Sebrang, Jambi City, using a political culture perspective as an analytical framework. The aim of this research is to retrace the existence of the village’s governance system by examining it from several perspectives, including governance, the application of customary law and democratic values in the management of local elections (Kepala Kampung). The research methodology involves exploring, analyzing, and revealing the local values of the village’s governance system that are still relevant to the current condition’s context. This research is descriptive qualitative. The object of the research is the social condition in Seberang Jambi City, to be converted with the needs of the current village-level government system from a political culture perspective. In addition to tracing secondary data, primary data will be obtained from competent informants in the fields of governance, customary law, and local election management. The research findings reveal that the village’s governance system as an original indigenous local government system, already possessed collaborative governance and the involvement of local stakeholders in village management. Furthermore, the norms regulated within customary law were capable of creating a sense of fair and equitable (restorative) justice, and democratic values were practiced in the management of the village head elections. This study concludes that the reform of village head election governance should consider aspects of community political culture in order to create a more transparent and participatory democratic process at the village level.

Abstract

This study analyzes Jumadi's campaign strategy and victory in the 2024 Kerinci Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) Legislative Election. This study explains, how Jumadi as a newcomer to politics with a background as a young entrepreneur, was able to achieve victory despite having no prior political experience. This study uses a qualitative approach with primary and secondary data obtained through interviews and documentation. The results indicate that Jumadi's victory was influenced by the implementation of an effective political marketing strategy based on Niffenegger's 4P framework: product, promotion, price, and place. The product aspect emphasized his image as a responsive and community-oriented leader with a focus on human resource development in the agricultural sector. The promotion aspect was carried out through direct outreach to the community, the use of social media, and the installation of billboards and posters. The price aspect reflected a positive reputation and personal credibility, while the place aspect related to voter mapping and mobilization of the support base through the Golkar Party's political machinery. These findings suggest that personal closeness, public trust, and the right political marketing strategy can be determining factors in the victory of new legislative candidates at the local level.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and examine the implementation of the Smart Indonesia Program (Program Indonesia Pintar – PIP) policy at SD Negeri 2 Sokaraja Tengah for the 2024/2025 academic year using George C. Edward III's policy implementation model. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study indicate that the success of PIP policy implementation is influenced by four main factors: communication, resources, disposition, and organizational structure. In terms of communication, although there is clear information exchange between the school and students’ parents, the transmission of information between the government and the school remains suboptimal, particularly concerning follow-up socialization and procedural changes. Overall, while the implementation of the PIP policy at the school level has been fairly effective, there is still a need to improve communication among stakeholders and ensure equitable fund allocation so that the impact of the policy can be more widely felt by its beneficiaries.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the conflict between the state and indigenous communities in the case of the construction of a naval military base in Marfenfen Village, Aru Islands Regency, Maluku Province from 1991 to 2021. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection through literature studies. The analytical techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the Marafenfen conflict reflects structural tensions between the state and indigenous communities in the struggle for living space. The customary land dispute with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) demonstrates weak legal protection, manipulative bureaucratic practices, and judicial bias that emphasizes formal legality over substantive justice. When state law fails, indigenous communities actualize resistance through mass action and sasi, asserting their position as a political force based on local wisdom that is able to delay the state's agenda from 1991 to 2021.
