Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE), particularly Fiqh instruction, continues to face challenges related to normative–doctrinal approaches, limited contextualization, and insufficient responsiveness to social dynamics and technological developments. This study aims to describe the implementation of the new paradigm of Islamic Religious Education in Fiqh learning, analyze the instructional strategies and methods employed, and formulate a roadmap for IRE reform based on classroom practices at MA Azzainiyyah. A qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the vice principal for curriculum affairs, a Fiqh teacher, and students, as well as classroom observations and document analysis. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques with source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that the new IRE paradigm has been implemented through the strengthening of moral and character education, contextual and participatory learning, the integration of digital technology, and the promotion of religious moderation. Based on these findings, a roadmap for IRE reform is proposed, emphasizing meaningful, moderate, and adaptive Fiqh learning in response to contemporary educational challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how learning outcomes can be improved through the examples-nonexamples method in the subject of "The Church as an Open Fellowship" for class XI NKPI at SMK Negeri 1 Lamalera. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects in this study were 12 students. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and documentation. Data analysis in this study was descriptive analysis. The results of this study state that by using the lecture method on the subject of "The Church as an Open Fellowship", the category of students who achieved the Minimum Competency (KKM) was 25% and 75% did not. However, by applying the examples-nonexamples method to the subject of "The Church as an Open Fellowship", the student's completion score increased to 100%. Thus, learning outcomes on the subject of "The Church as an Open Fellowship" for class XI NKPI improved by applying the examples-nonexamples method.

Abstract

This study aims to identify teaching and learning strategies in the world of education. Various teaching methods are used, and their use must be adapted to various factors, such as the situation and conditions under which the teaching and learning activities are taking place, the facilities available, and so on, all of which must be aligned with the educational objectives being achieved. This study aims to determine the learning strategies that teachers and students must employ to achieve learning objectives effectively and efficiently. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation. Teachers naturally want to continually improve themselves, improve the quality of learning, and deliver teaching materials to students in a way that is easily understood. Furthermore, teachers want to make the teaching process functional. This means a teacher must master teaching methods in specific didactics, which include several theories about teaching methods. Even simple subject matter can sometimes be difficult for students to develop and understand due to inappropriate methods or approaches. Conversely, difficult subjects are easily understood by students because the delivery and methods used are easy to understand, precise, and engaging.

Abstract

Social, cultural, and technological transformations require Islamic Religious Education (IRE) to move beyond a classical, text-centered paradigm toward a contextual and character-oriented approach. This study analyzes the implementation of character-based Islamic Religious Education as a representation of the new paradigm of IRE in a contemporary educational setting. Using a qualitative field research design, the study was conducted at MA Mazro’atul Ulum Citiis with students and Islamic Religious Education teachers as research participants. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using an interactive qualitative analysis model. The findings demonstrate that character-based IRE is systematically implemented through the integration of religious values, discipline, responsibility, and social awareness within learning activities and madrasah culture. Teachers function as moral exemplars, while religious habituation programs serve as a hidden curriculum that strengthens the internalization of character values. This implementation signifies a paradigm shift in Islamic Religious Education from a predominantly cognitive orientation toward holistic character development encompassing cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions. The study provides empirical evidence that character-based IRE is a viable pedagogical approach to addressing contemporary moral and social challenges in Islamic secondary education.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student interest and learning outcomes in the subject of Al-Qur'an and Hadith through the implementation of Active Learning with the Information Search method. The research was motivated by low student interest, characterized by a lack of enthusiasm, activeness, and focus in learning, resulting in suboptimal learning outcomes. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a qualitative approach at MTs Mazro'atul Ulum. The subjects were students in one of the MTs classes. The study was conducted through several cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques used observation and interviews, while data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods. The results showed that the implementation of Active Learning with the Information Search method increased student interest in learning, as evidenced by increased participation, attention, and active involvement in learning. This increased interest in learning positively impacted student learning outcomes, both in understanding the material and in relating the contents of the Quran and Hadith to everyday life. Thus, the Information Search type of Active Learning is effectively implemented to improve the quality of Al-Qur'an Hadith learning in Islamic Junior High Schools (Madrasah Tsanawiyah).

Abstract

The development of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning faces complex challenges that require integrated and sustainable collaboration across educational        institutions. Fragmented IRE practices have limited the synergy between academic reinforcement, classroom implementation, and teacher professional development. This study aims to analyze collaboration patterns among schools, higher education          institutions, and IRE teacher communities in building a learning ecosystem in          Sukabumi City, as well as to identify actors’ roles, challenges, and development               opportunities.This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with three key informants, including an IRE teacher, an IRE supervisor, and the head of a postgraduate IRE program. The               findings indicate that collaboration is perceived as an integrative learning ecosystem, where schools function as implementation sites, universities provide academic reinforcement, and teacher communities act as sustainability connectors. Although the implementation of collaboration remains partial and not fully institutionalized, it      contributes to improving teacher professionalism and the quality of IRE learning. The study oncludes that sustainable collaboration requires role clarity, policy support, and strengthened institutional networks. The implications highlight the importance of developing a systematic and contextual collaborative model to enhance IRE learning and professional practice in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the significant impact of cultural changes occurring in Buton Regency on the learning process at the elementary school level. The main issue raised is the shift in local wisdom values, such as the tradition of politeness (poma-maa-maa) and the use of regional languages, which are starting to be eroded by modernization and the use of digital technology by students in the school environment. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and traditional leaders, and a study of local content curriculum documents. The results show that cultural changes have an impact on the decline of discipline based on local values ​​and a significant reduction in students' understanding of their own cultural identity. However, on the other hand, this change opens up opportunities for the integration of more dynamic digital-based learning media if managed properly. In conclusion, a reconstruction of the local content curriculum is needed that can align technological advances with the preservation of Buton's noble values ​​for the development of educational knowledge and practice.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of cultural changes on the educational process in the Dasar school in Kabupaten Buton Tengah. The changes brought about by globalization, technological advancement, and social mobility have an impact on sikap, nilai, and student learning. Three main schools—SD Negeri 1 Mawasangka, SD Negeri 6 Mawasangka, and SD Negeri 17 Mawasangka—were used for the study, which examined the characteristics of schools in semi-perdesaan and pusat pemerintahan. This study used a deskriptif kualitatif approach using observational and wawancara data collection techniques. The study's findings indicate that changes in culture have both positive and negative effects on learning. Positive effects can be shown in students' increased interest in learning new things, communication skills, and using technology in the classroom. Even however, negative effects are caused by a decrease in local customs, a decrease in the use of the daerah language, and a melemah-like approach to learning. The teacher responds to this situation by incorporating local customs and traditions into thematic instruction and character education. The findings of this study indicate that cultural change is a keniscayaan that has to be addressed by contextual learning strategies that balance local and global impacts.

Abstract

This research aims to critically analyze the impact of cultural transformation on the learning dynamics in Elementary Schools within North Buton Regency. The background of this study is rooted in concerns over the erosion of local identity due to massive modernization in coastal areas. Utilizing a qualitative sociological approach, this study examines the phenomenon of value shifts from the traditional era of the 1960s to the modern era following the regional expansion in 2007. Data collection was conducted through participant observation and in-depth interviews with educational practitioners in the Kulisusu and West Kulisusu Districts as case study loci. The research findings reveal a significant phenomenon of cultural lag, where advancements in physical infrastructure and access to information technology are not aligned with the preservation of local character values in both the curriculum and daily life. The primary impacts identified are the degradation of students' resilience (daya juang) and a tendency towards instant gratification in learning, as well as the marginalization of local language use in educational interactions at school, which is now dominated by popular slang. Furthermore, this study finds that the local content curriculum has not yet been able to counterbalance the dominance of global culture entering through digital media. In conclusion, cultural transformation in North Buton has created a gap between students' cultural identity and the demands of modern education. This study recommends the need for a local wisdom-based curriculum revitalization integrated with technology, alongside strengthening the teacher's role as a cultural filter within the school environment. Local governments are expected to formulate protection policies for regional languages in formal settings to prevent the extinction of the Kulisusu community's collective identity.

Abstract

Cultural transformation is an inevitable social phenomenon, including in Wakatobi Regency, which is experiencing cultural evolution due to the tourism sector, globalization, and the development of information technology. This study aims to examine the impact of cultural changes in the Wakatobi community on the educational process in elementary schools, particularly in the formation of students' character, learning attitudes, and local values. The main problem raised in this study is the shift in local cultural values ​​that influences student behavior and teachers' teaching approaches at the elementary level. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and principals, and analysis of curriculum documentation and school activities. The data analysis process was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and thematic drawing of conclusions. The research findings indicate that cultural transformation has resulted in a decrease in the use of regional languages, changes in social interaction patterns among students, and a decrease in the integration of local cultural values ​​into learning. However, cultural change also creates opportunities for innovation in teaching methods based on local wisdom that is relevant and contextual to students' lives. Therefore, flexible pedagogical strategies are needed to positively utilize cultural change in the educational process in elementary schools.
