Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using Android-based video learning media on the ability to recognize number concepts in group B children at PGRI Melur Kindergarten. The ability to recognize number concepts is an important aspect in the cognitive development of early childhood, which is the basis for understanding mathematics at the next level. However, initial observations showed that many children still have difficulty in recognizing numbers, counting objects, and understanding the concept of numbers as a whole. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model consisting of two cycles. Each cycle involves the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 15 group B children at PGRI Melur Kindergarten aged 5-6 years. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews, which were then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The results of the study showed that the use of Android-based video media significantly improved children's ability to recognize number concepts. In the pre-cycle, 53% of children were in the Not Developing (BB) category, and only 7% reached the Very Well Developing (BSB) category. After cycle II, there were no more children in the BB category, with 47% of children reaching the Developing According to Expectations (BSH) category and 40% reaching the BSB category. This increase shows that Android-based video media is effective in helping children understand number concepts better through a visual and interactive approach. Interesting and interactive video media has been proven to increase children's interest in learning, involvement, and understanding of number concepts. Thus, the use of Android-based learning video media can be used as an effective strategy in early childhood learning, especially in improving understanding of number concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the self-confidence of early childhood through storytelling methods in Group A of PGRI Melur Kindergarten. Self-confidence is an important aspect in children's development, which plays a role in shaping their social, communication, and independence skills. Based on initial observations, it was found that most children in this group had low levels of self-confidence, characterized by reluctance to speak in public, a soft voice when speaking, giving up easily when facing tasks, and dependence on teachers or parents in completing tasks. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 18 children in Group A of PGRI Melur Kindergarten. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews, which were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The results showed that the storytelling method significantly increased children's self-confidence. Children were more active in speaking, more confident in presenting stories in front of their friends, and showed enthusiasm in participating in learning activities. In addition, this study identified several obstacles in the application of the storytelling method, such as the lack of focus of children in listening to stories and differences in the level of language development between them. Therefore, the storytelling method has proven to be an effective strategy in increasing the self-confidence of early childhood. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for educators and parents in developing more innovative and enjoyable learning methods for early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of threading activities using clay materials on the development of fine motor skills in children aged 4-5 years at RA ROFA, Ciawi District, Bogor Regency. Fine motor skills are an important aspect of child development, influencing their ability to perform daily activities. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, involving 16 children as research subjects, consisting of 13 boys and 3 girls. The results of the study indicate that threading activities with clay media can significantly improve children's fine motor skills. Before the implementation of the activities, the children's fine motor skills were in the underdeveloped category, with an average score of 50.32%. After the threading activities were applied, there was a significant improvement, with the average score increasing to 84.06% in the second cycle. This research is expected to contribute to the development of more effective learning methods to enhance early childhood fine motor skills, as well as provide insights for educators and parents in supporting child development.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of class VIII B students at SMP Negeri 1 Solor Barat on the material of the Mission of Jesus' Disciples by using the project based learning method. At SMP Negeri 1 Solor Barat, it is illustrated that the learning outcomes obtained by class VIII B students in the material of the Mission of Jesus' Disciples are still very low because there are students who have not met the minimum completion criteria (KKM). The low learning outcomes of Catholic religious education are caused by the selection of inappropriate teaching methods. So that students are not enthusiastic in participating in learning. The method used in this study is classroom action research (CAR). Classroom action research is research conducted in the classroom by teachers to fix problems in the classroom with the aim of making changes. The results show that the use of the project based learning method in Catholic religious education learning can improve the learning outcomes of class VIII B students. Where this is indicated by the average class value of each cycle, namely pre-cycle (59.56) while cycle I (80) and in cycle II (84.21). This shows that the use of the project based learning method can improve the learning outcomes of class VIII B students at SMP Negeri 1 Solor Barat.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research (PTK) on grade VIII C students at Panca Marga Junior High School which was motivated by initial observations that showed low student learning outcomes, was influenced by the learning process that still tended to be passive. This can be seen from the average score obtained from the results of the Student Worksheet (LKPD), and the lack of confidence of students to express their opinions, as well as the lack of desire of students to ask questions. So that on the subject or material about Jesus Fulfilling God's Promise, the average score obtained by students in grade VII C SMP Negeri Panca Marga is 60. The average score is still below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) set by the school, which is 75. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to apply more varied learning methods. With the application of the Talking Stick learning method, it is hoped that it can improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to find out the implementation of the Talking Stick learning method in improving the learning outcomes of students in each cycle, and to find out the learning outcomes of students in grade VIII C at Panca Marga State Junior High School through the Talking Stick learning method in the subject of Catholic Religion and Ethics in the material Jesus Fulfills God's Promise. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). This method aims to develop the most effective and efficient strategy in a scientific situation. Classroom Action Research (PTK) is carried out in four stages for each cycle, including the planning stage, implementation of actions, observation and reflection. The test result data is the data obtained from the pretest and posttest in each cycle. The results of this study showed an increase in the learning outcomes of students in the subject of Catholic Religion and Ethics in the material Jesus Fulfillment of God's Promise in class VIII C SMP Negeri Panca Marga after being subjected to action.for the learning outcomes of students in the first cycle got a percentage score of 60.26% in the category of quite good and in the second cycle got an increase in a percentage score of 100% in the category of very good. It can be concluded that the application of the Talking Stick learning method can improve students' learning outcomes in the subject of Catholic Religion and Ethics in the material Jesus Fulfills God's Promise in grade VIII C SMP Negeri Panca Marga. It is recommended that teachers can apply this Talking Stick learning method to other materials and subjects with low student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kurangnya minat baca peserta didik yang disebabkan oleh salah satu factor yang menjadi perhatian peneliti yaitu media pembelajaran yang tidak beragam. Materi pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia yang identic dengan membaca, menulis, dan berbicara masih disajikan secara konvensional dan masih didominasi oleh penggunaan buku cetak sebagai media pembelajaran utama. Perkembangan teknologi belum dimanfaatkan dengan maksimal oleh Sebagian pendidik dalam menghasilkan media pembelajaran menarik, terkhusus pada materi menulis resensi siswa kelas IX. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui validitas pengembangan media mind mapping berbasis aplikasi canva untuk pembelajaran menulis resensi sebagai media yang dihadirkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang ada pada latar belakang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research And Develompment (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Validitas media ditinjau dari tiga aspek yang meliputi aspek media, materi dan bahasa yang dilakukan oleh 3 orang validator melalui lembar validasi, yang kemudian diolah dan memperoleh rata-rata 89,82% dengan Kesimpulan bahwa media yang dikembangkan berkategori sangat valid dan layak untuk diuji coba.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in nurturing the potential of learners towards spiritual, personality,skills, and intellectual development. The focus on the learning process significantly influences the achievement of educational goals, with teachers playing a pivotal role in this process.Pedagogical competence becomes a critical skill for teachers but is also vital for students as prospective educators when undertaking Field Experience Practice (FEP). This research explores students' understanding of FEP and their pedagogical abilities. A qualitative phenomenological research method was employed. Three students from the Smaratungga Buddhist College of Religious Sciences, who participated in FEP for 2 months at both junior and senior high school levels, were the subjects of this research. Data were collected through interview, observation, and documentation techniques.The results indicate that students have a good understanding of FEP and pedagogical competence. They acknowledge the importance of pedagogical skills within the context of FEP. However, there is room for improvement in practically applying these competencies during teaching and learning activities.In conclusion, prospective teacher students demonstrate a good understanding of FEP and pedagogical competence. Nevertheless, there is potential for improvement in the practical application of pedagogical competencies during teaching activities. This study emphasizes the significance of understanding FEP and pedagogical competencies for the future of teacher education.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of education in encouraging religious moderation in Toraja, a region rich in religious tradition and diversity. Religious moderation, which prioritizes tolerance, mutual respect and avoiding extremism, is important in maintaining harmony between religious communities amidst local social and cultural dynamics. Through educational approaches, both formal and non-formal, it is hoped that the values ​​of religious moderation can be instilled from an early age in the younger generation. This research analyzes various educational strategies that can be implemented by educational institutions in Toraja to foster inclusive attitudes and respect for differences, as well as how these values ​​can strengthen relations between religious believers in everyday life. The research results show that education based on local cultural values, such as mutual cooperation and mutual respect, has a vital role in supporting the creation of a moderate and harmonious society. This article also offers recommendations for integrating religious moderation in the educational curriculum in Toraja.

Abstract

Increasing student learning motivation is a major challenge in the world of education, especially in the digital era which is full of distractions. This article aims to explore innovative strategies in increasing student learning motivation through active and collaborative learning approaches. This approach involves students directly in the learning process, facilitates interaction between students, and encourages collaboration in solving problems. The use of digital technology as a means of supporting learning, such as online learning platforms and educational social media, also increases student engagement. This research shows that active and collaborative learning can motivate students to participate more, develop critical thinking skills, and improve learning outcomes. By integrating technology, teachers can create a learning environment that is interesting and relevant to students' needs in the digital era. Therefore, implementing this strategy is expected to increase student motivation and overall quality of learning.

Abstract

Extracurricular activities are activities carried out as a platform for developing students potential, interests, and talents, conducted outside of school hours. The use of time outside regular school hours provides flexibility for students to participate in these activities maximally without disrupting formal learning processes in the classroom. One form of extracurricular activity that becomes a focus in many elementary schools or madrasah ibtidaiyah is the arts. Artistic activities encompass various branches, such as music, dance, and visual arts, each offering unique benefits in supporting students' development. Visual arts, for example, not only teach skills like drawing or painting but also train students to think creatively, explore new ideas, and improve their ability to express themselves. Additionally, visual arts can shape positive character traits such as discipline, confidence, teamwork, and perseverance. This study aims to explore the influence of extracurricular visual arts activities on the creativity and learning enthusiasm of third-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Kecepit, Banjarnegara Regency. The approach used in this research is qualitative, employing a case study method that relies on data collection techniques such as direct observation of the activities, in-depth interviews with students and teachers, and documentation of the visual arts activities performed by students. The results of the study show that student participation in extracurricular visual arts activities has a significant impact on their creativity development. Students who were previously passive or unfocused during classroom learning began to show greater interest and enthusiasm when involved in artistic activities. They not only channel their creative ideas but also demonstrate improvements in concentration, responsibility, and enthusiasm for learning in class. Furthermore, these activities create a more enjoyable learning atmosphere, motivating students to engage more actively in formal learning processes. With the various benefits experienced, extracurricular visual arts activities have proven to be an effective strategy in supporting the comprehensive development of students' potential, both academically and non-academically, while enriching their learning experience in school. Therefore, it is essential for schools to continuously promote and manage extracurricular visual arts activities consistently as part of efforts to improve the quality of education.
