Abstract

This study aims to determine the teacher's role in fostering student learning discipline in Grade III at SD Inpres 03 Kalabahi Timur. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation and interviews. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the teacher fosters disciplined character in students through role modeling, rule enforcement, habituation, praise, and educational sanctions. The teacher has carried out their duties using an educational approach and consistent supervision. Students demonstrate a commendable level of discipline, evidenced by punctuality, adherence to school rules, completion of assignments, and fulfillment of scheduled classroom cleaning duties. Although challenges such as tardiness or delayed assignment submissions arise, they are effectively addressed through teacher guidance and support. Extracurricular activities, such as the Scouts, also contribute to shaping disciplined character. Thus, the teacher plays a crucial role in instilling and developing values ​​of discipline, and the efforts undertaken have yielded positive results.

Abstract

Curriculum development is a process that plans, produces a better tool based on the results of an assessment of the existing curriculum, so as to provide better teaching and learning conditions. In other words, curriculum development is an activity to produce a new curriculum through the steps of curriculum preparation based on the results of assessments carried out during a certain period.

Abstract

The curriculum concept model is an approach or framework used to design, organize, and implement the curriculum in an educational system. This curriculum functions to determine how teaching materials are selected, teaching is carried out, and evaluation is conducted. Various curriculum models adopt different approaches depending on the educational philosophy, learning objectives, and the development of knowledge and technology during a specific period. This study discusses four main curriculum models: the academic subject curriculum model, the humanistic curriculum, the social reconstruction curriculum, and the technology curriculum. Each of these curriculum models has its own characteristics in terms of material delivery and achievement of educational goals, as well as adapting to the needs of the times and the demands of the workforce. Therefore, it is essential to choose and develop the appropriate curriculum model in line with the needs of learners and the existing social and technological developments.
