Abstract

Introduction: Climate change and air pollution, particularly PM2.5, are critical global concerns. PM2.5 refers to fine particulate matter with a diameter of less than 2.5µm, capable of penetrating the lungs and entering the bloodstream, leading to severe health issues, especially for pregnant women and neonates. This study aims to analyze the impact of PM2.5 exposure on maternal and neonatal health in the era of global climate change and to develop mitigation strategies that midwives can implement. Method: A literature review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. The databases searched included PubMed, SagePub, and ScienceDirect, yielding 303 articles based on keywords such as risk factors, impact, negative effects, air pollution, pregnancy, maternal and neonatal outcomes, and PM2.5. After screening, 15 relevant studies were selected for review. Discussion: PM2.5 exposure has been linked to adverse pregnancy and birth outcomes worldwide, including fetal growth restriction, low birth weight (LBW), small for gestational age (SGA), preterm birth, and increased neonatal morbidity and mortality. While some studies have examined the relationship between PM2.5 and seasonal variations in pregnancy outcomes, the biological mechanisms remain unclear. Midwives can help mitigate these effects through education on air circulation, lighting, green spaces, and reducing household burning, alongside interdisciplinary collaboration. Conclusion: PM2.5 exposure during pregnancy, exacerbated by climate change, has been confirmed to contribute to poor birth outcomes. Mitigation efforts are essential to protect maternal and neonatal health.

Abstract

Social skills are an important aspect of children's development that affects their ability to interact, adjust and build healthy interpersonal relationships. This study aims to theoretically and empirically review children's social skills, by highlighting the process of their formation from an early age, the implications of low social skills, and the challenges faced by Generation Z children in the current social context. The method used is a literature review by analyzing various scientific journals, books, and previous research results. The results show that children's social skills are in the moderate category, with assertiveness being the weakest aspect. Factors such as parental education level, parenting, school environment and exposure to digital media play an important role in influencing the formation of social skills. Low social skills result in difficulties in interpersonal relationships, emotional instability, decreased academic performance, and increased social risks such as bullying, isolation and depression. The phenomenon of weak social ethics in some Generation Z reflects a failure in the formation of social values and skills early on. This study emphasizes the importance of synergy between families, schools and communities in strengthening children's social skills through training, character education and policies that support children's social-emotional development. Recommendations are directed at the need for sustainable social interventions and further research related to the effectiveness of social skills training programs in various social and cultural contexts.

Abstract

This study is a systematic literature review (SLR) on enhancing creative thinking through computational thinking learning strategies using GitHub in vocational Software Engineering (RPL) education for 11th-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Surabaya. The objective of this article is to collect, analyze, and synthesize findings from previous studies to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between computational thinking, GitHub, and creative thinking in vocational RPL education. The research method used in this SLR article is library research, with sources obtained from the Scopus (Elsevier) and Emerald Publishing databases. Data analysis from previous studies follows the PRISMA method. The findings indicate that creativity enhancement can be achieved through an effective curriculum. Computational thinking needs to be integrated into the curriculum to equip students with skills aligned with digital technology advancements. GitHub serves as a digital tool that fosters innovation and creativity. The study’s implications encourage schools to integrate computational thinking into the RPL curriculum to equip students with problem-solving skills relevant to digital technology developments.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the police outside the formalization of legal policies through interactive-humanist actions to overcome the crisis of institutional legitimacy of the Indonesian National Police (Polri). This article focuses on social services carried out by Polri members as an alternative to reconstructing public trust amidst the crisis of institutional legitimacy. By reducing various strategic policies and using philanthropic efforts through social services, the police can act humanely and avoid repressive actions to improve the image of the Polri. Social service police can be a new approach in the reconstruction of Police-Community relations that are carried out personally and informally, but still play a role in strengthening public trust in the image of the Polri socially through police-community involvement. By explaining the problems of public distrust and the Polri legitimacy crisis, and referring to the concept of legitimacy and various studies related to police issues, the main argument of this article is that social service police are not just a caricature mechanism or formal institutional policy - but rather a tactical effort based on the reconstruction of public trust to improve the legitimacy crisis due to the fading image of the Polri outside the formal mechanism through a soft power approach . nenwun

Abstract

In today's digital era, data privacy is a major concern for individuals and organisations around the world. Encryption technology has emerged as a key tool in the effort to protect data privacy, making it an important subject to be studied from various aspects, including legal and social. This research aims to explore the important role of encryption technology in protecting data privacy and its impact on legal and social aspects. From a legal perspective, this research examines how encryption helps entities and organisations meet the legal requirements of privacy and data protection, such as GDPR in the European Union and CCPA in California, as well as the challenges faced in implementing encryption. On the social side, the study highlights how encryption strengthens public trust in digital technology, enables secure personal communication, and supports freedom of speech in the digital environment. In addition, the study also discusses ongoing challenges, such as the balance between the need for encryption and the need for law enforcement to access data in crime investigations. In conclusion, encryption technology is a critical aspect of protecting data privacy, with significant implications in both legal and social aspects. This research suggests the need for further collaboration between policymakers, the technology industry, and the general public to formulate strategies that enable the effective use of encryption while addressing security needs and social justice.

Abstract

Legal and ethical aspects play an important role in a hospital's responsibility for patient safety. Hospitals are required to comply with various laws and regulations that guarantee quality medical service standards, including the Health Act and health accreditation standards. Compliance with these regulations reduces the risk of medical errors and ensures a safe and effective care environment. In addition, ethical aspects require hospitals and medical personnel to apply moral principles such as beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice, which promote the welfare, rights, and justice of patients. By combining the fulfilment of legal obligations and ethical principles, hospitals can increase patient trust, prevent malpractice, and ensure the overall safety and well-being of patients.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the ASSURE Model in teaching English vocabulary to Grade 5 elementary school students using interactive songs. Vocabulary acquisition is a fundamental aspect of language learning, yet many young learners struggle with traditional rote memorization methods. The ASSURE Model provides a structured instructional framework that enhances student engagement through the integration of multimedia, interactive participation, and assessment-based learning. Interactive songs, with their repetitive lyrics and rhythmic patterns, serve as an effective tool for reinforcing vocabulary retention. This research was conducted at SD HKBP Maranatha, Medan, involving a classroom of Grade 5 students. Data was collected through classroom observations, vocabulary tests, and student feedback. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' vocabulary acquisition and retention, demonstrating the effectiveness of the ASSURE Model when combined with interactive songs. The findings suggest that structured multimedia-based instruction can enhance young learners’ English vocabulary learning experience.

Abstract

This paper explores the success of organic farming and its impact on food security through an analysis of modern literature. Organic farming has been shown to provide significant benefits for environmental sustainability, such as increased biodiversity and soil health, as well as agricultural products with higher nutritional quality. However, challenges to meeting global food demand remain, mainly due to lower yields compared to conventional methods and high production costs. Modern literacy suggests the need for technological support and more active government policies to overcome these obstacles. With the right support, organic farming can strengthen the global food system to be more resilient to climate change, overall strengthening food security for future generations.
