Abstract

Organic farming is identified as one of the sustainable approaches with great potential to improve global food security. Through practices that maintain soil quality, enhance biodiversity, and reduce negative impacts on the environment, organic farming offers environmentally friendly solutions that can strengthen the global food system. This literature review explores the benefits and challenges faced in the widespread adoption of organic agriculture. It was found that, although organic agriculture contributes positively to sustainability and nutritional quality, lower production compared to conventional methods and various obstacles such as access to markets and limited knowledge are major obstacles. Therefore, policy support, economic incentives, technological innovation, and education are needed to maximise the potential of organic agriculture. Collaboration between stakeholders is essential in facing challenges and promoting organic agricultural practices as an integral solution for food security in the future.

Abstract

This study examines the crucial role of character education in fostering religious moderation among the millennial generation, particularly in the context of increasingly polarized religious discourse. Using a qualitative descriptive methodology with a library research approach, this research investigates how character education can serve as a foundation for developing wisdom and moral leadership among millennials. The findings reveal that character education that emphasizes critical thinking, empathy, cultural awareness, and ethical reasoning significantly contributes to religious moderation. Furthermore, this study identifies specific pedagogical approaches that effectively promote moderate religious attitudes while respecting diverse belief systems. Educational institutions, religious organizations, and policymakers can utilize these insights to design programs that cultivate religious moderation and prepare millennials for moral leadership roles in pluralistic societies. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on religious education reform, character development, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence in diverse religious landscapes.

Abstract

Agroforestry, which combines agricultural practices with tree planting, plays a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem sustainability. This system creates diverse habitats and supports various species of flora and fauna, thus helping to increase biodiversity compared to monoculture farming. In addition, agroforestry supports ecosystem function by improving soil structure, controlling erosion, and maintaining soil fertility, as well as increasing water retention capacity. Trees in agroforestry also play a role in mitigating climate change through carbon sequestration, thereby reducing the greenhouse effect. By integrating nature conservation into agricultural practices, agroforestry offers a sustainable solution to global environmental challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of digitalization and competence on employee performance, with transformational leadership as a mediating variable at the Ngantang District Office. Utilizing a quantitative research approach, data were collected through surveys from selected respondents. The study employs regression and path analysis to examine the relationships between variables. The findings indicate that digitalization and competence have a significant positive effect on employee performance, as they enhance efficiency, decision-making speed, and service quality. However, the successful implementation of digitalization depends on employees’ competency levels and the support of transformational leadership. Transformational leaders play a crucial role in motivating employees, fostering adaptability, and reducing resistance to digital transformation. The study highlights that transformational leadership partially mediates the relationship between digitalization, competence, and performance, meaning that leadership effectiveness can enhance the benefits of digital initiatives. The results support the Job Demands-Resources theory, emphasizing that a combination of technological advancements and strong leadership positively impacts employee performance. The findings provide practical implications for improving digital adoption strategies, developing competency-based training programs, and enhancing leadership approaches to optimize employee performance in public administration.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of a toxic workplace environment and workload on turnover intention among Gen Z workers in the hospitality industry in Malang, with work discipline as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through surveys from 185 respondents selected via purposive sampling. The analysis employed linear regression and path analysis to explore relationships between variables. The findings indicate that a toxic workplace environment and workload significantly and positively affect turnover intention. Key factors contributing to employee turnover include interpersonal conflicts, poor leadership, excessive work hours, and task complexity. Additionally, these stressors negatively impact work discipline, reducing employees’ compliance and consistency. Work discipline partially mediates the relationship between a toxic workplace environment, workload, and turnover intention, as employees with high discipline are better equipped to manage work pressures and remain committed to the organization. This study supports the Job Demands-Resources theory and Herzberg’s motivation theory, emphasizing the role of personal resources in mitigating work-related stress. These findings provide practical implications for organizations to foster a supportive work environment, effectively manage workloads, and enhance employee discipline to reduce turnover rates in the hospitality industry.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the factors influencing the optimization of Agrarian Reform Policies in transmigration areas, specifically focusing on skills, education, and adaptation capabilities. The research data were collected through interviews and direct observations in the transmigration locations. The findings indicate that while the three analyzed factors are relatively adequate, there is still room for improvement. In terms of skills, it was observed that transmigrants' proficiency in modern agricultural techniques remains suboptimal. This is primarily due to the continued employment of outdated methods in training programs. Regarding education, a salient challenge pertains to the limited accessibility of primary and secondary education for transmigrant children who reside in distant locations and encounter inadequate road conditions. Another salient challenge relates to agrarian education programs, where replacement heads of households frequently lack awareness of procedures for acquiring Land Ownership Certificates (SHM) through land ownership. Regarding adaptability, transmigrants still require guidance from mentors, facilitators, or community assistance programs that can help them apply newly acquired knowledge and skills. The government and relevant stakeholders must actively provide the necessary support to facilitate the adaptation process. By doing so, transmigrants can integrate effectively, fostering a harmonious and productive relationship between transmigrants and the local community.
