Abstract

Christian Religious Education plays a strategic role in shaping the moral character of students amid increasingly complex moral challenges. Christian ethics, as an integral part of the Christian faith, serves as a value foundation that guides students’ attitudes, behaviors, and life decisions. This study aims to examine the role of Christian ethics in Christian Religious Education in shaping students’ moral character. The method used in this study is a literature review by analyzing various theological, educational, and relevant research sources related to Christian ethics and character formation. The findings indicate that the integration of Christian ethical values, such as love, honesty, responsibility, and justice, into the learning process of Christian Religious Education significantly contributes to the development of students’ moral character. In addition, the example set by Christian Religious Education teachers and the contextual application of Christian ethical values in students’ daily lives are important factors in the success of character education. Therefore, Christian Religious Education grounded in Christian ethics can serve as an effective means of forming faithful, ethical, and morally responsible students.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of technology-based learning on students’ learning motivation in the digital era. The rapid development of information and communication technology has transformed the educational system from conventional to digital-based learning. Using a qualitative research method with a literature review approach, this study analyzes findings from various journals related to the application of technology in learning and its influence on student motivation. The results show that technology has a dual effect: it enhances learning engagement and flexibility but may also reduce concentration and social interaction when not properly managed. Factors influencing motivation include the use of interactive media, teacher competence, digital literacy, and learning environments. The study concludes that effective integration of technology supported by teacher guidance and adequate digital facilities can create a dynamic, enjoyable, and motivating learning atmosphere for students in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the role of digital television as a medium for cultural literacy and student character development in Indonesia using a qualitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of publications from 2021–2024. Relevant studies were retrieved from national and international databases (e.g., Google Scholar, ERIC, ScienceDirect, SINTA/Portal Garuda) using keywords related to digital television, cultural literacy, character education, and media literacy, and were synthesized through thematic content analysis to identify patterns, trends, and research gaps. The findings indicate that digital television has strong potential to enhance students’ cultural literacy when it offers authentic local-culture content that is relevant to students’ everyday lives and packaged with high-quality audio-visual features and interactive formats aligned with the preferences of digital natives. In terms of character education, educational programs that embed values such as honesty, responsibility, tolerance, and cooperation are more effective when they include positive role models, contextual moral dilemmas, and consistent exposure supported by mediation from teachers and parents. However, the educational potential of digital television remains constrained by the dominance of commercially driven entertainment content, uneven production quality and cultural accuracy, and limited integration of media literacy into instructional practice. This study recommends strengthening broadcasting regulations and incentives for educational and cultural programming, fostering collaboration among broadcasters, educators, and cultural experts, and integrating digital TV content into classroom and home learning alongside structured media literacy activities to maximize its contribution to cultural understanding and character formation.

Abstract

Aqidah Akhlak learning has a strategic role in shaping the faith and character of students in accordance with the values of Islamic teachings. However, in practice, learning Aqidah Akhlak often faces various problems that cause a gap between the ideal normative concept and the reality of practice in educational institutions. This study aims to examine and analyze the problems of learning Aqidah Akhlak by examining the relationship between the normative foundation of Islamic teachings and the implementation of learning in the field. This research uses a qualitative approach with the library research method, with data sources in the form of books, scientific journals, academic articles, as well as relevant Islamic education policy and curriculum documents. Data is analyzed using content analysis techniques through the process of data reduction, theme categorization, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the learning problems of Aqidah Akhlak are influenced by various factors, such as learning approaches that are still cognitive, limited integration of values in daily practice, and lack of contextualization of the material with the social reality of students. This research is expected to make a theoretical contribution as a reflection material and the basis for the development of learning Aqidah Akhlak that is more contextual, integrative, and applicative.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the world of education, especially in curriculum development. However, this progress also poses challenges in the form of educational tendencies that are technocratic and have the potential to ignore human values. This research aims to examine the development of an educational curriculum based on the values of love and technology as an effort to integrate humanistic and digital dimensions in education. This research uses a qualitative approach with the library research method, with data sources in the form of books, reputable scientific journal articles, as well as relevant educational policy and curriculum documents. Data analysis is carried out through content analysis techniques with stages of data reduction, theme categorization, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the value of love acts as a normative and ethical foundation in the curriculum that emphasizes empathy, care, and character formation of students, while technology functions as a pedagogical means to increase the effectiveness, flexibility, and relevance of learning. The integration of the values of love and technology in the curriculum allows for the creation of a holistic, meaningful, and sustainable educational process. This research is expected to make a theoretical contribution to the development of a humanistic and adaptive curriculum paradigm to technological developments.

Abstract

Sex education is an important part of efforts to shape healthy and responsible sexual behavior among adolescents. However, in various regions, including the city of Kupang itself, sexuality education is often perceived ambiguously and even accused of contributing to an increase in promiscuous behavior among adolescents. This study aims to examine in depth the relationship or connection between sexuality education and promiscuous behavior among adolescents in the city of Kupang by examining the concept, implementation, and socio-cultural context surrounding it. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach, with literature review and thematic analysis methods on various relevant previous studies in terms of Christian theological education and social health. The results of the study show that sexuality education that is delivered partially, solely biologically, and not based on moral values and local culture, has the potential to be misunderstood by today's youth, thereby continuing to encourage risky sexual behavior. Conversely, comprehensive contextual sexuality education that involves families, schools, and all elements of society, including religious leaders, has been proven to play a more preventive role in reducing promiscuous sexual behavior among adolescents. Therefore, strengthening a holistic sexuality education model has become a fundamental need, even an urgent need, in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media language use on junior high school students' academic writing skills. Social media has become part of students' daily lives and influences their language habits, especially in the use of informal language, abbreviations, and sentence structures that do not conform to Indonesian language rules. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires involving 30 junior high school students as research subjects. The results show that high intensity of social media use tends to have an impact on decreasing spelling accuracy, choice of diction, and sentence structure in students' academic writing. Although social media has positive potential in increasing students' creativity and courage in expressing ideas, its negative impacts are more dominant if not balanced with directed language learning. Therefore, this study also examines the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model as an effort to address these issues. The results of the STAD implementation model showed an improvement in students' academic writing skills and awareness of using good and correct Indonesian. Therefore, innovative and collaborative learning is crucial to minimize the negative impact of social media language on students' academic writing skills.

Abstract

This study examines the role of TikTok as a medium for vocabulary development in Indonesian language learning using a descriptive qualitative literature review approach. The problem underlying this study is the limited vocabulary mastery of students due to the dominance of conventional learning practices and the lack of integration of digital media that align with students’ daily experiences. Data were obtained through an analysis of scientific journals, books, and scholarly articles related to Indonesian language learning, vocabulary acquisition, and the use of social media in education. The findings indicate that TikTok has strong potential as an innovative learning medium because of its audiovisual, interactive, and contextual characteristics. The use of TikTok can increase students’ learning motivation, expand receptive and productive vocabulary mastery, and help learners understand various types of vocabulary, including standard, non-standard, technical, and contextual vocabulary through concise and engaging educational content. In addition, TikTok encourages incidental learning, allowing students to acquire new vocabulary naturally through repeated exposure in authentic contexts. Overall, this study contributes to Indonesian language education by highlighting the effective use of social media in response to the demands of the digital era.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the potential and usefulness of the Instagram application as an innovative learning tool that can improve students' academic reading skills in Indonesian language courses. In this digital age, students' dependence on social media provides a significant opportunity to integrate technology into formal teaching methods. This study used a qualitative approach with a literature review method, where data was obtained through critical analysis of numerous journals and relevant literature. The findings of the study indicate that Instagram features have different strategic roles: the feed feature is most effective in helping students understand the structure of scientific texts; Instagram Stories helps increase reflective interaction; IGTV provides support in understanding complex texts; while Reels serves to practice the skill of summarizing information concisely. Overall, Instagram is effective in providing stimulation, mediation, and information. The conclusion of this study is that planned use of Instagram not only increases reading interest and digital literacy but also strengthens students' critical thinking skills through a digital platform that is relevant to their daily lives.

Abstract

This study investigates how speech learning can help improve students' speaking skills in Indonesian language lessons. Speaking skills are very important in language learning, but many students still lack confidence and are unable to express ideas correctly. Through speeches, students can practice creating and delivering ideas in an organized, clear, and confident manner in front of an audience. The research method uses a literature review by collecting data from journals, books, and scientific sources published between 2020 and 2025 through databases like Google Scholar and ResearchGate. The data is analyzed systematically to build concepts and strategies for using speeches in learning. The findings show that speeches are good for training students to manage intonation, pronunciation, and the structure of idea delivery. The steps include explaining concepts, creating texts, practicing, and evaluating. From previous research, speeches make students more courageous, motivated, and skilled in speaking, while also creating a positive communication atmosphere in the classroom. In essence, speech learning is an innovative method suitable for developing students' speaking skills, in line with the 2013 Curriculum. Teachers can implement this to make learning more fun and efficient, preparing students to face real-world communication. This research serves as a reference for improving Indonesian language learning in the future.
