This journal provides a venue for publication that is peer-reviewed, academically rigorous, and professionally recognized. IMEJ publishes original articles on the latest issues and trends in research and community service in the field of tadris/education in Mathematics. This journal is published twice a year on April and Oktober. The Editorial Board of the Journal invites every manuscript that addresses the topic of research and community service in the field of mathematics education that uses an established and recognized scientific approach that also has impact or can be generalized to national and international populations. All manuscripts must provide a thorough literature review defining research and community service problems as well as overall conclusions discussing the implications and limitations of research and community service, especially in the field of mathematics education.

Abstract

Interest is a person's favourite, favourite thing about something. The tedious learning process of mathematics tends to make students less interested in learning material, so one of the efforts made in the learning process is by using fraction board props on simple fraction material. The research method used is a comparison with the independent sample t-test. The research was conducted at MI Ma'arif Mayak Ponorogo with a sample size of 50 students consisting of 2 classes, namely class 3a as the experimental class and class 3b as the control class. The data collection technique used a questionnaire—technical data analysis using quantitative descriptive data and inferential statistics. The results of the study are 1) the learning interest of MI Ma'arif Mayak Ponorogo students who use fraction board props in the high category 8%, medium category 84% and low category 8%; 2) the learning interest of MI Ma'arif Mayak Ponorogo students who do not use fraction board props in simple fraction material in the high category 20%, medium category 64%, and low category 16% and 3) There is a significant difference between the learning interest of MI Ma'arif Mayak Ponorogo students who use and do not use the fraction board props with t-count 3.159 and t-table 2.201 at the 5% significance level.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that must be studied by students at school. One of the objectives of teaching mathematics is to train and develop students' mathematical reasoning abilities. In class IV at MI Ma'atif Polorejo there were several problems during the learning process for mathematics, including the teacher still using the lecture method in delivering learning, the teacher never using learning media in delivering mathematics material, the students were less enthusiastic when delivering the material. , students find it difficult to accept learning materials, some students are less interested in learning mathematics, students' ability to solve mathematical problems is still low, students' mathematical reasoning abilities are still low and grade IV learning outcomes in mathematics subjects are still low, namely there are 10 students out of 29 grade IV A students or the equivalent of 34.5% of students whose average evaluation results are still below the KKM, which is 70. Improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities must be accompanied by an appropriate learning process, so that learning objectives can be achieved. So, the learning carried out by the teacher has a very important influence on students' understanding of learning materials and students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The use of youtube video media in the mathematics learning process, with the hope that students' enthusiasm and motivation to learn, students' understanding of the material and students' mathematical reasoning abilities can increase. This study aims to analyze the effect of using Youtube video media on the mathematical reasoning abilities of fourth grade students on the circumference and area of ​​flat shapes at MI Ma'arif Polorejo. To answer the questions above, this study was designed with a quasi-experimental research design and used a pre-test – post-test control group design to collect data and was carried out at MI Ma'arif Polorejo. This study was conducted using a sample of 2 classes, namely class IV A and IV B. The sample selection in this study was conducted randomly based on the results of the pre-test. This study uses a test as an instrument in data collection. The data analysis technique used in this study was the t-test. The results of the calculation of the t-test obtained tcount = 4.63 while ttable = 1.6741 it can be concluded that tcount > ttable that is 4.63 > 1.6741. Thus, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there are differences in the mathematical reasoning abilities of students whose learning uses Youtube video media with the mathematical reasoning abilities of students whose learning does not use Youtube video media in class IV at MI Ma'arif Polorejo. Thus, the use of Youtube video media affects the mathematical reasoning abilities of fourth grade students on the circumference and area of ​​flat shapes at MI Ma'arif Polorejo.

Abstract

Research in mathematics education related to mathematical abilities, especially in prospective mathematics teacher students, is increasing. However, instruments related to mathematics ability tests for prospective mathematics teachers are still limited and rarely found. The three stages of the instrument development model, namely design, define, and develop, were carried out by researchers to produce mathematics ability test instruments aimed at prospective mathematics teacher students. Based on the development process and expert validation, the results showed that the mathematics ability test instruments developed by researchers met the valid criteria. So, the mathematics ability test instruments developed by researchers can be used and utilized for researchers in mathematics education who are interested in examining the mathematical abilities of prospective mathematics teacher students.

Abstract

This study examines the mathematical representation ability of seventh grade junior high school students in solving contextual problems of Linear Equation One Variable (PLSV) through Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI). Using qualitative methods and randomly selected samples, this study evaluates how students apply mathematical representations in the context of PLSV through essay assessments, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis was conducted according to the Miles and Huberman method, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results showed that PMRI was effective in improving students' mathematical representation ability, enabling them to effectively translate and solve everyday problems into mathematical models. The findings confirm the importance of PMRI as a learning approach that facilitates conceptual understanding and practical application of mathematics, suggesting wider application of PMRI in mathematics learning to develop strong mathematical representation skills among students.

Abstract

Cabai merupakan hasil produksi pertanian yang sering mengalami perubahan harga. Untuk memprediksi naik-turunnya harga, digunakan algoritma Kalman Filter pada harga dua jenis cabai (cabai merah besar dan cabai rawit merah) di dua lokasi pasar Kabupaten Ponorogo, yaitu di Pasar Legi dan Pasar Sumoroto. Data harga cabai digunakan untuk memprediksi harga cabai dengan algoritma Kalman Filter pada periode Maret 2023-Februari 2024. Berdasarkan hasil komputasi dan analisis dengan algoritma Kalman Filter, didapatkan angka MAPE untuk cabai merah besar (5,02% di Pasar Legi dan 4,82% di Pasar Sumoroto) dan MAPE untuk cabai rawit merah (34,3% di Pasar Legi dan 31,76% di Pasar Sumoroto). Nilai MAPE ini berarti prediksi harga cabai merah besar sangat baik, sementara prediksi harga cabai rawit merah layak.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh model pembelajaran online terhadap prestasi dan keterampilan sosial siswa dilihat dari karakteristik gaya berfikir. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitiaan quasi eksperiment. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan kuisioner. Setelah data terkumpul, selanjutnya diuji menggunakan uji manova. Adapun hasil penelitian ini adalah prestasi belajar siswa dengan karakteristik gaya berpikir AA pada pembelajaran online lebih baik daripada pembelajaran langsung, sedangkan prestasi belajar siswa dengan karakteristik Gaya berpikir SK, SA, dan AK memiliki prestasi belajar yang sama baiknya dengan pembelajaran online dan pembelajaran langsung. Keterampilan sosial siswa SK, SA, AK, dan AA yang menggunakan pembelajaran online lebih baik daripada keterampilan sosial yang menggunakan pembelajaran langsung.

Abstract

The climate change that occur on earth is very urgent to be searched for efforts of disaster mitigation. Education, especially mathematics education, has a strategic role in introducing and preventing climate change in the next generation. The reason is, mathematics is the mother of all sciences which is closely related to all aspects of life and is also the basis for technological development. Efforts to mitigate the threat of climate change in the school environment are through the integration of environmental education in the school curriculum, especially in mathematics learning process. This research is a literature review research related to the integration of environmental education in mathematics learning. It is hoped that the results of this research can become a reference for teachers as the efforts to mitigate climate change through integrating environmental education in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the PMRI learning model is implemented using the counting board media and to find out whether there is an increase in students' mathematical logical thinking skills after applying the PMRI model using the counting board media. The research was conducted in February-March 2023. The research subjects were 3rd grade students of Ibnu Khaldun MIN 1 Ponorogo. The material studied is arithmetic operations on whole numbers. In this study the method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the type of PTK participants and was carried out for 3 cycles. The results showed that in the first cycle the average ability to think logically mathematically was 66.5%, then it increased in the second cycle to 74%, and the third cycle to 86%. The conclusion of this study is that application of the PMRI model with counting board media can improve students ability to think logically and mathematically Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan model pembelajaran PMRI dengan media papan hitung dan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir logis matematis siswa setelah menerapkan model PMRI dengan media papan hitung. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari-Maret 2023. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 3 Ibnu Khaldun MIN 1 Ponorogo. Materi yang diteliti adalah operasi hitung bilangan cacah. Dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan jenia PTK partisipan dan dilaksanakan selama 3 siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada pada siklus I rata-rata kemampuan berpikir logis matematis adalah 66,5 %, kemudian meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 74%, dan siklus III menjadi 86%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan model PMRI dengan media papan hitung dapat meningkatkan kemamouan berpikir logis matematis siswa

Abstract

The ability to think critically in learning mathematics is very important because it can make it easier for students to understand content, analyze concepts, plan calculation strategies and provide appropriate conclusions. But in fact, students' critical thinking skills are still not optimal due to lack of confidence (self-efficacy) in solving problems. Different students' self-confidence causes different students' critical thinking abilities. The purpose of this study was to describe the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SDN Kutukulon on speed and discharge in terms of high, medium, and low self-efficacy. The research method in this study used descriptive qualitative data collection techniques using questionnaires, tests and interviews. The results of the study show that: 1) Students with high self-efficacy fulfill 4 indicators namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. However, there are weaknesses in the interpretation indicators where students are incomplete in writing information according to the context of the questions. 2) Students with moderate self-efficacy fulfill indicators of interpretation and analysis. While the evaluation and inference is quite good. This is because students only write down concepts without explanation and at the end of the answers are not equipped with a unit of account. 3) Students with low self-efficacy only meet 2 indicators, namely interpretation and analysis, while the evaluation and inference indicators are still not fulfilled because students make mistakes in counting so that the conclusions given are not appropriate according to the context of the questions given
