Abstract

Supply chains are changing rapidly, with transactions increasingly based on chains that involve coordinated links between farmers, traders, processors and retailers. It is against this background that this paper is made and synthesized after a field report analysis of how marketing of cassava and chicken is done at various stages in the supply chain. Emphasis is placed on markets chosen for linkages, on the capacity of the linking traders and consumers, and on the relationship between them. The paper tries to describe and explain the different marketing stages of assembling, transportation, processing and preparation for consumption of cassava and chicken by different smallholder individuals involved. It outlines the challenges and opportunities involved in marketing of these products.

Abstract

In this paper, the value of Japan's ancient 10,000-year-long Jomon culture is re-explored. They lived a cooperative lifestyle rather than depriving the other side of resources in inter-tribal conflicts. They also did not oppress nature, but received the minimum resources necessary for the people of the village to survive from nature, which changed from season to season. Previous studies have dismissed the lack of organised agriculture as pre-civilisational, and it has been assumed that they made their living by hunting animals and gathering nuts. However, the use of storage warehouses showed that they had established a balance between planned food gathering and consumption. The lack of organised agriculture was rather an excellent system that did not create classes in the social structure. It is astonishing that the Jomon people were already implementing the ideas that form the basis of the modern SDGs. Across time and space, modern people should humbly learn from the Jomon people.

Therefore, will negatively affect the quality of accounting profits. This is one of the most important information that concerns the shareholders. By consideration, the earnings quality and earnings management are two related challenging interwoven issues in financial reporting as earnings management is an aspect influencing earnings quality. In this paper, fundamental scientific processes such as analysis, synthesis, induction, and deduction have been utilized in order to achieve the objective of this paper. This paper concluded that earnings management has a negative impact on the quality of earnings if it distorts the information in a way that is less useful for forecasting future cash flows, which in turn result in unreliable financial reports leading to incorrect decision. Also, corporate earnings of high quality are those that have a high level of persistence, are more timely, more predictable, less volatile and have lower level of earnings management. And on the other side it is important to understand that lower earnings quality are not indicators of poor financial situation or the misapplication of accounting policies, judgments, and estimates.

Abstract

The dynamization of Tourism in the Haute Matsiatra Region (Isalo, Andringitra, Ranomafana) is considered favorable to the promotion of Tourism and important for the sustainable development of the rural areas concerned. They are exploited by local visitors. However, currently, there is an inspiration for new openings and new and more original horizons throughout Madagascar. The idea of launching the "dynamization of tourism", using Big Data and Business Intelligence, is somewhat conceived as an exclusive speech to incite tourists to discover new destinations even more authentic than many others. However, we would like to propose that the aim of the dynamization of tourism is to make the assets dynamic, to valorize and capitalize on the natural wealth of the region for the purpose of tourism, and to develop the areas in a sustainable way.

Abstract

Climate change (CC) is having negative impacts on agricultural production at global, national, and local scales. Climate risks to agriculture, livestock, and fisheries are expected to increase in the coming decades, particularly in low-income countries with low adaptive capacity such as those in Africa and Madagascar. In most African countries, agriculture must undergo a profound transformation to address the many challenges of CC, food insecurity, malnutrition, poverty, and environmental degradation. This "Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA)" or e-agriculture is an integrated approach to address the interrelated challenges of food security and climate change in order to achieve the objectives of adaptation or mitigation of climate change risks. Support for building resilience, support for community-based environmental projects, and promotion of climate-smart agricultural practices are among the approaches of the AIC. These climate-smart agricultural practices need to be aligned with and supported by national policy and a legal and regulatory framework. Policy and legislation can either slow down or accelerate the adoption of climate-smart agriculture. Promoting innovation requires effective partnerships with the government, the private sector, and universities. The case studies clearly show that there is a need for simultaneous action at the local and international levels on multiple challenges related to climate change. Climate change (CC) has negative impacts on agricultural production globally, nationally, and locally. Climate risks to agriculture, livestock, and fisheries are expected to increase over the coming decades.

Abstract

Charcoal, the main domestic fuel used in the city of Fianarantsoa, comes mainly from the forests of Fianarantsoa II. The increase in demand for charcoal in Fianarantsoa puts considerable pressure on the natural woody formations of Fianarantsoa II. The implication of charcoal burning in deforestation depends on the intensity of charcoal production and the respect of the forest regeneration phase. This activity is, however, essential for charcoal makers who live from it as producers or as resellers. It generates a significant income for the rural population, and even for the resellers in urban areas, despite its relatively low cost compared to other fuels such as gas, oil, ethanol, and electricity. Most charcoal burners are also farmers, but the charcoal produced is intended to meet the urban energy demand of Fianarantsoa. This study focuses on the socio-economic and environmental impacts of this logging in order to highlight the solutions available to ensure sustainable development through the cases of Amnbondrona, Antanifotsy, and Ankaranosy. Environmental education and sustainable development as well as the proposal of income-generating alternatives and more ecological fuels would allow the restoration of environmental harmony while ensuring socio-economic balance.

Abstract

In the last decade, there has been an increase in national insecurity in the country, which has resulted in many people being killed, kidnapped, and misplaced. Despite different measures put in place by the government, national security has not been well noticed in Nigeria. As a result, this study empirically examined the effect of national security on inflows of foreign direct investment in Nigeria, covering the period 2005–2021. The study measured foreign direct investment using the net inflow of foreign direct investment, while measuring national security by the budgets of external defence and internal security. Control variables are gross domestic product and trade openness. Secondary data were sourced from the CBN Statistical Bulletin and estimated using an auto-regressive distributed model. The study found that both government expenditure for external defence and internal defence had positive effects on foreign direct investment, while only government expenditure for external defence was found to significantly impact foreign direct investment in the long run at a 5% level of significance. This implies that continuous expenditure by the government to combat national insecurity would ensure a serene environment, which would assure the citizenry's desire for national security. The study concluded that national security has a significant effect on foreign direct investment in Nigeria. The study recommends that the government ensure that the expenditure on both external and internal defence is well utilised and directed to the necessary quarters to reduce insecurity, which would increase the influx of foreign direct investors in the country. Furthermore, the government should also ensure that the armed forces and paramilitary squads are well motivated to increase their morale to fight insecurity so as to ensure national security and peace of mind for all the people within the country.
